Great space for some time away with friends or family. We had two teens and a five year old with us. All five fit great in The yurt. We enjoyed the deck at Zen Den when BBQing. We played and swam at the pond. The kayaks and canoes were a nice treat. We used them to go up and down Runabout Pond. There is no electricity, which we thought was great. There are only outhouses and outside showers for toileting and hygiene stuff, but it worked great for us. A little smelly, but that’s to be expected. Not too far from Portland and really close to Freeport. We seriously have no complaints. The owners are super friendly!
Aug 11, 2025 · Jeannie & Heather Rice-SawyerOur stay was nothing short of amazing. My family had a great time relaxing all weekend. Thank you so much for giving us a free stay because my wife and I are Veterans. I look forward to returning.
Jul 20, 2025 · Nicolas HamlinMy family rented 3 of the yurts for a weekend and had an amazing time. The yurts were warm and cozy from the moment we arrived. The boys had fun sledding, running around the trails and walking on the ponds. We enjoyed family meals, all in one yurt, and the kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed. Page, Bob and Peg all greeted us and showed us around the property. We saw several bald eagles and heard a few owls talking back and forth at night. It was the perfect family getaway, connecting with eachother and nature.
Feb 15, 2025 · Julia TrippPage, Bob and Peggy were great to us during our stay and while we hosted our wedding at walkabout pond. The area is beautiful, the yurts are clean/cozy, and the pond area is magical. Can’t say enough good things about this amazing place and hosts!
Nov 03, 2024 · Keri McIlvaineWe just got back from four nights in the Zen Den. We had SO much fun! What a beautiful setting and it was perfectly equipped to our needs. It's in a great location - 30 minutes to get to the water, tons of hiking, multiple adorable Maine towns, garden stands, farmers markets, etc. The property is in the woods so you've got a ton of shade and it was very comfortable, in all ways. Having access to the water spigot and the oven/stove made things so convenient...I forgot that we didn't have electricity. Brought three dogs, all of which had a blast! What a gem of a place!
