This article is crafted to give you a clear, engaging, and factual overview of what makes Maplewood a unique and potentially ideal spot for locals and visitors alike. We'll delve into its features, services, and what you can expect as a resident or guest, helping you decide if this is the perfect spot for your next adventure or permanent home.
RV parks and mobile home communities offer a distinctive lifestyle that blends independence with the convenience of shared amenities and a neighborhood feel. They cater to a diverse range of needs, from temporary lodging for travelers exploring Louisiana's rich culture and natural beauty to providing a stable, affordable home base for long-term residents. Maplewood Mobile Home & RV Park, located in the heart of Bossier City, stands out as a locally owned and operated establishment with a history stretching back to the early 1990s. This long-standing presence often translates into a deeper understanding of resident needs and a commitment to fostering a comfortable environment. Whether you're planning a trip to the casinos, Barksdale Air Force Base, or simply seeking a quiet community, understanding what Maplewood offers is your first step.
Maplewood Mobile Home & RV Park is conveniently situated at 452 Maplewood Dr, Bossier City, LA 71111, USA. This address places it in Bossier City, a vibrant and growing city directly across the Red River from Shreveport. The location offers excellent accessibility to major highways and local attractions, making it a strategic base for both short-term visitors and long-term residents.
Bossier City itself is known for its entertainment venues, including riverboat casinos, the Boardwalk, and numerous dining and shopping options. Barksdale Air Force Base, a major employer and landmark, is also within close proximity, which can be a significant advantage for military personnel and their families. The park's position on Maplewood Drive provides a balance – it’s tucked away enough to offer a quiet atmosphere, as frequently noted by residents, yet remains easily accessible to the main arteries of Bossier City and Shreveport. This means that running errands, commuting to work, or enjoying local leisure activities is straightforward. However, it's important to note the proximity to a train line. While the location provides convenience for travel, the presence of a frequently running, noisy train that can cause campers to shake and block park entrances and exits is a significant factor to consider for daily life, particularly for those with early morning commutes or sensitive to noise. Additionally, some residents have reported issues with packages being lost, possibly due to the density of campers and trailers nearby, which could be a daily hassle for those who frequently receive deliveries.

When contacting the park, it's advisable to prepare specific questions tailored to your needs. For RVers, inquire about site availability for your dates, hookup details, and specific amenities. For those considering mobile home residency, ask about lot availability, lease terms, and any community guidelines. Given the reviews, it would also be wise to ask about the train schedule and its potential impact, as well as current maintenance routines for communal facilities like the bathhouse and laundry room, and package delivery policies. A personal visit to the park is also highly recommended to experience the environment firsthand and speak with management or current residents if possible.
For Louisiana locals, whether you're a seasoned RVer, looking for a temporary base, or considering a long-term mobile home residency, Maplewood Mobile Home & RV Park in Bossier City presents a compelling option. Its most significant draw is its established, family-owned and operated status since the early 90s, fostering a distinctly "quiet, family oriented" and "Great community" atmosphere that many residents value. The park's commitment to maintaining tidy yards and a clean appearance further enhances the living environment, making it a pleasant place to reside or visit. For visitors exploring the Shreveport-Bossier City area, its location offers reasonable accessibility to local attractions while providing a peaceful retreat.
However, suitability also involves weighing potential challenges. The proximity to a frequently active train line, which can cause noise and temporary park access blocks, is a significant consideration for daily routines and comfort. Similarly, past issues with package deliveries and the condition of some communal facilities like the men's bathhouse and laundry room are points that prospective residents and visitors should be aware of and inquire about directly. Despite these potential drawbacks, the consistent positive feedback regarding the community's quiet nature, cleanliness, and the "sweet and helpful" demeanor of the management team often outweighs these concerns for many. For those prioritizing a well-kept, family-friendly environment with a personal touch in management, Maplewood Mobile Home & RV Park offers a genuine sense of belonging and a comfortable base in Bossier City, making it a strong contender for locals seeking a specific lifestyle or short-term stay.
Customer Reviews
I've lived here for about 5 or 6 years now. Very quiet, family oriented. Yards are all kept up, no broke down vehicles. Family owned and operated since early 90's. Nice RV spots if your visiting , some with concrete pads, washer and dryers in bath house. Great community. Beautiful sunsets!!!
I will say this park is clean, management is very sweet and helpful. It was an amazing park to stay, my boss was even renting out a trailer across the street. They have a lot available for their area but the location.. Not so well, I had chairs stoel in my front yard.. they were $180 all together; And the owner moved them every 2-3 days due to mowing. Along with that ordering amazon packages were constantly getting lost due to all of the campers along with trailers near by, it became a daily hassle. The train is pretty noisy and shakes the campers often, they go through day and night. They will block you from leaving and coming into the park.. sucks when you have work that morning too! They have showers available but they weren't maintained well the men's were so bad my fiance chose to shower in the women's with me. The laundry room available as well but I had my laundry thrown on the ground once and I quit using it. The park is nice but the trailer park being right there is going to drop their success.
Looks like a really good place to live at and looks like its really nice neighborhood and looks very clean
It's a great quiet place. Very clean and well kept don't put up With no b s ....
Wonderful campground in Bossier city! Friendly staff and great sites. They just paved a few weeks ago so driving around is a breeze. They keep the grounds clean and the trees trimmed. We never had to worry about the trees during a storm. Can't wait to visit this campground again!
