Promotions or Special Offers

As a public campground, particularly one designated as a "Horse Trailhead & Campground," Marzinski is typically managed by a government agency (likely the U.S. Forest Service or Michigan DNR, given its location within or adjacent to the Manistee National Forest). Therefore, it generally operates on a fixed fee schedule, and specific promotional offers in the traditional commercial sense are uncommon. Any fees collected usually go towards the maintenance and upkeep of the facilities.

However, users might benefit from broader regional or national pass programs, such as the America the Beautiful – The National Parks and Federal Recreational Lands Pass series, which can offer discounts on recreation fees, though specific applicability to a smaller trailhead campground should be verified. For the most accurate and up-to-date information on fees and regulations, Michigan residents should consult the U.S. Forest Service website for the Manistee National Forest or the Michigan Department of Natural Resources (DNR) website, as they would manage this type of facility.

Contact Information

For inquiries regarding Marzinski Horse Trailhead & Campground, including current conditions, specific regulations for equestrian use, or fee information, it is best to contact the managing authority directly. Given its location and name, it falls under the purview of the U.S. Forest Service, specifically within the Huron-Manistee National Forests. While a direct phone number for the campground itself is not typically provided for these types of rustic sites, you can reach the relevant Forest Service office:

Address: Marzinski Rd, Manistee, MI 49660, USA

To obtain current information, it is recommended to search for the official website or contact number for the Manistee Ranger District of the Huron-Manistee National Forests. This office would be the most knowledgeable source for detailed information regarding the campground and its associated trails.

Sites are clean and level, with a large fire ring and picnic table. There is a pit toilet and well pump that had ice cold water which was nice. The sites are spread apart but very visible to each other. Overall this campground is a really nice alternative to other free camping in the heart of the forest (fewer ticks and mosquitoes.)

Nice, simple, and cheap place to camp. It does have one modest but clean outhouse, and a big old manual water pump, and that's really all you need if you are looking at a place like this to camp.

This place, maintained by the forest service is a free place to camp for up to two weeks. There are 21 sites of various sizes, many equipped to have horse's close. All sites have picnic tables and fire rings with a cooking grate. There is a day use area, vault toilet, and a water station. Not a bad spot to forage, as well as bird watch. It's not busy usually, not far from Manistee, and right along 55. Well worth the stop and stay.
