Location and Accessibility

Mylander RV Park is strategically located at 672 S Post Oak Rd, Sulphur, LA 70663, USA. Sulphur is a significant city in Calcasieu Parish, part of the larger Lake Charles metropolitan area, known for its petrochemical industry and vibrant local culture. The park's address places it in a practical spot that offers both a degree of quietude while maintaining easy access to key areas.

South Post Oak Road provides straightforward connectivity to major thoroughfares, including Interstate 10, which runs just north of Sulphur. This makes the RV park highly accessible for travelers moving east or west across Louisiana and beyond. For industrial workers and turnaround crews, the proximity to the numerous plants and facilities in Sulphur and the broader Lake Charles area is a significant advantage, minimizing commute times.

Beyond industrial access, the park's location offers reasonable convenience to Sulphur's local amenities. Residents can find grocery stores, pharmacies, and dining options within a short drive. For leisure, the area boasts attractions such as the Creole Nature Trail All-American Road, offering stunning wildlife viewing and birdwatching, and various casinos and entertainment venues in nearby Lake Charles. Services Offered

Mylander RV Park provides essential services designed to accommodate both short-term visitors and long-term residents, focusing on core necessities for RV living.

  • Full Hookups: RV sites are equipped with essential connections for water, sewer, and electricity (including both 30 and 50 amp options), ensuring a self-sufficient stay.
  • Monthly Rates: The park offers competitive monthly rates, catering particularly to industrial workers and turnaround crews who require extended stays. Reported rates hover around $550.00 for 30 Amp and $600.00 for 50 Amp, which typically include city water, sewer, and weekly garbage pickup.
  • Quiet Environment: While not a tangible service, the park strives to maintain a quiet atmosphere, which is a key offering for guests seeking peace after a long day of work or travel. One review describes it as a "lovely quiet park."
  • Accommodations for Crews: The park is noted as "a very nice RV park for shut down workers, and turn around crews," indicating an understanding of and catering to the specific needs of these groups.

It is important for prospective guests to contact the park directly to confirm current rates, availability, and specific inclusions, as well as to clarify any policies regarding long-term stays.

Features / Highlights

Mylander RV Park offers a mix of features that contribute to its appeal, alongside some points raised in customer feedback that potential visitors should consider.

  • Sweet and Family-Friendly Owners: A strong highlight noted in a positive review is that the owners are "the sweetest people ever" and that the park is "very family friendly." This suggests a welcoming and accommodating atmosphere.
  • Ideal for Industrial Workers/Crews: The park is explicitly recognized as a suitable and nice option for "shut down workers, and turn around crews," indicating it meets the needs of these long-term, work-related stays.
  • Quiet Environment: Despite its accessibility and proximity to industrial areas, the park is described as "quiet," offering a peaceful retreat.
  • Long-Term Stay Options: The provision of competitive monthly rates (e.g., $600/month) makes it an attractive option for those needing extended accommodations.

However, it is crucial to address the negative feedback as well:

  • Military Discount Incident: One review reports a negative experience regarding a request for a military discount, where the caller felt "flat out laughed at" and perceived the lady on the phone as "very paranoid." This specific incident, if accurate, indicates a lack of empathy and professionalism in customer service for certain inquiries. Potential military service members should be aware of this specific reported experience.
  • Customer Service Perception: The same review describes the phone interaction as very negative, suggesting inconsistencies in how inquiries are handled.

Prospective visitors, especially veterans or military personnel, should consider these contrasting experiences and may wish to clarify policies and pricing directly.

Promotions or Special Offers

Mylander RV Park's primary "special offer" is its competitive monthly rates, which are attractive for long-term stays, especially for individuals working in the local industrial sector. Reported monthly rates are around $550.00 for 30 Amp and $600.00 for 50 Amp, which are considered reasonable for extended accommodation in the Sulphur area and typically include essential utilities like water, sewer, and weekly garbage pickup.

Regarding specific discounts, it's important to address the review mentioning a negative experience when inquiring about a military discount. While some RV parks do offer military discounts (as seen in general search results for other parks), the specific interaction reported suggests that Mylander RV Park may not have a standard or actively promoted military discount policy, or that its implementation varies.

For the most accurate and up-to-date information on rates, availability, and any potential offers for long-term stays or specific groups, it is always best to contact Mylander RV Park directly via phone. Given the mixed feedback on phone interactions, it may be beneficial to be prepared with specific questions.

For Louisianans, particularly those residing in or frequently working in the Sulphur and Lake Charles industrial corridor, Mylander RV Park offers a highly practical and often suitable option for RV accommodation. Beyond the industrial focus, the park also caters to a broader audience, with positive feedback highlighting its "family friendly" atmosphere and the "sweetness" of the owners. I called earlier today to ask for a spot, they told me it would be 600$ a month. And the place I’m parked at right now provides a military discount so I asked if they provided one here and I was flat out laughed at! The lady on the phone also just seemed very paranoid for anyone who wants to stay there. Never experienced anything like it, but I guess that’s how veterans are treated nowadays.

So let me start by saying I have a beautiful Class A diesel Pusher with $35k in recent upgrades. I had requested a lot before getting to town and was told they had space the next day as getting near I asked if someone would be available to meet me at this time I was informed they would not allow my coach in the park since it is a 2000 model. Even though it is in better shape than most of the unit less than 5 years old they would ever see. I have stayed at many parks with age restrictions and was only asked for pictures to verify condition and once they saw how impeccably it was kept always given approval. These people would not even consider it. Keep looking as they would rather have new junk here than quality coaches.
