This RV park caters to a diverse clientele, from long-term residents and turnaround crews to families seeking a comfortable stopover. While experiences can vary, the park is known for its accommodating nature and strives to provide a stable environment for its guests.
Mylander RV Park aims to be a convenient base for those working on local industrial projects, offering monthly rates that are competitive for extended stays. Understanding the park's offerings and its unique blend of industrial and family appeal is key to deciding if it's the right fit for your next stay in Sulphur.
Mylander RV Park is strategically located at 672 S Post Oak Rd, Sulphur, LA 70663, USA. Sulphur is a significant city in Calcasieu Parish, part of the larger Lake Charles metropolitan area, known for its petrochemical industry and vibrant local culture. The park's address places it in a practical spot that offers both a degree of quietude while maintaining easy access to key areas.
South Post Oak Road provides straightforward connectivity to major thoroughfares, including Interstate 10, which runs just north of Sulphur. This makes the RV park highly accessible for travelers moving east or west across Louisiana and beyond. For industrial workers and turnaround crews, the proximity to the numerous plants and facilities in Sulphur and the broader Lake Charles area is a significant advantage, minimizing commute times.
Beyond industrial access, the park's location offers reasonable convenience to Sulphur's local amenities. Residents can find grocery stores, pharmacies, and dining options within a short drive. For leisure, the area boasts attractions such as the Creole Nature Trail All-American Road, offering stunning wildlife viewing and birdwatching, and various casinos and entertainment venues in nearby Lake Charles. The combination of industrial proximity and access to local amenities makes Mylander RV Park a convenient base for various types of visitors to Southwest Louisiana.
Mylander RV Park provides essential services designed to accommodate both short-term visitors and long-term residents, focusing on core necessities for RV living.
It is important for prospective guests to contact the park directly to confirm current rates, availability, and specific inclusions, as well as to clarify any policies regarding long-term stays.
Mylander RV Park offers a mix of features that contribute to its appeal, alongside some points raised in customer feedback that potential visitors should consider.
However, it is crucial to address the negative feedback as well:
Prospective visitors, especially veterans or military personnel, should consider these contrasting experiences and may wish to clarify policies and pricing directly.
Mylander RV Park's primary "special offer" is its competitive monthly rates, which are attractive for long-term stays, especially for individuals working in the local industrial sector. Reported monthly rates are around $550.00 for 30 Amp and $600.00 for 50 Amp, which are considered reasonable for extended accommodation in the Sulphur area and typically include essential utilities like water, sewer, and weekly garbage pickup.
Regarding specific discounts, it's important to address the review mentioning a negative experience when inquiring about a military discount. While some RV parks do offer military discounts (as seen in general search results for other parks), the specific interaction reported suggests that Mylander RV Park may not have a standard or actively promoted military discount policy, or that its implementation varies.
For the most accurate and up-to-date information on rates, availability, and any potential offers for long-term stays or specific groups, it is always best to contact Mylander RV Park directly via phone. Given the mixed feedback on phone interactions, it may be beneficial to be prepared with specific questions.

It is highly recommended to call the park directly to confirm current rates, check availability, and clarify any specific questions you may have, particularly if you are considering a long-term stay or have unique requirements. While one review highlighted a difficult phone interaction, another praised the owners as "the sweetest," suggesting that experiences can vary.
For Louisianans, particularly those residing in or frequently working in the Sulphur and Lake Charles industrial corridor, Mylander RV Park offers a highly practical and often suitable option for RV accommodation. Its primary strength lies in its strong appeal to "shut down workers, and turn around crews," providing a reliable and cost-effective base for those on extended work assignments. The monthly rates, typically including utilities, represent a significant advantage for long-term residents seeking stable and predictable housing costs in the region.
Beyond the industrial focus, the park also caters to a broader audience, with positive feedback highlighting its "family friendly" atmosphere and the "sweetness" of the owners. This suggests that for locals seeking a quiet and welcoming environment for either short recreational stays or longer-term living, Mylander RV Park can be a good fit. Its location in Sulphur also offers convenient access to local amenities and the broader attractions of Southwest Louisiana, balancing a peaceful park setting with urban accessibility.
While the isolated negative review regarding a military discount inquiry is a point of concern that prospective visitors should note and perhaps clarify directly, the overall sentiment from the other review points to a functional, accommodating, and generally positive experience for the park's intended clientele. For any Louisianan who prioritizes affordability, a quiet environment, and a convenient location for work or family visits in the Sulphur area, Mylander RV Park is a strong contender worth considering.

I called earlier today to ask for a spot, they told me it would be 600$ a month. And the place I’m parked at right now provides a military discount so I asked if they provided one here and I was flat out laughed at! The lady on the phone also just seemed very paranoid for anyone who wants to stay there. Never experienced anything like it, but I guess that’s how veterans are treated nowadays.
May 11, 2025 · Heidi SonnierThis is a very nice even park for shut down workers, and turn around crews! Very family friendly and they are the sweetest people ever! Anytime I'm over this way I will definitely be stopping by again to stay.
Mar 04, 2025 · Sean HarrisonGreat place to stay at! They treat anyone that comes in like family! The park is very well maintained, and a quiet and easy going environment.
Mar 04, 2025 · Mitch DarbonneIt is a very quiet place every-time i am here. If you have an RV or a camper this is the place to come! the part is very well maintained, and the environment is very welcoming.
Mar 04, 2025 · Brandon harrisonSo let me start by saying I have a beautiful Class A diesel Pusher with $35k in recent upgrades. I had requested a lot before getting to town and was told they had space the next day as getting near I asked if someone would be available to meet me at this time I was informed they would not allow my coach in the park since it is a 2000 model. Even though it is in better shape than most of the unit less than 5 years old they would ever see. I have stayed at many parks with age restrictions and was only asked for pictures to verify condition and once they saw how impeccably it was kept always given approval. These people would not even consider it. Keep looking as they would rather have new junk here than quality coaches.
