Promotions or Special Offers

As a campground managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Old Federal Campground typically adheres to federal guidelines regarding pricing and discounts. While they may not run frequent, advertised "special offers" in the same way a private resort might, they do offer standard discounts that are highly beneficial for eligible visitors.

One of the most significant and commonly utilized promotions is the America the Beautiful National Parks and Federal Recreational Lands Pass series. Holders of these passes, such as the Senior Pass (for U.S. citizens or permanent residents aged 62 or over) or the Access Pass (for U.S. citizens or permanent residents with permanent disabilities), often qualify for a 50% discount on standard campsite fees. This can represent substantial savings for frequent campers. Military personnel and volunteers may also be eligible for certain benefits.

It is always advisable to check the official Recreation.gov website when making reservations for Old Federal Campground. This platform is the primary booking portal for most federal campgrounds and will list the current nightly rates, any applicable discounts, and specific reservation policies. Prices for sites typically range from $20-$35 per night, depending on the amenities (e.g., electric and water hookups versus primitive tent sites).

Additionally, while not a "promotion," it's worth noting that booking in advance is highly recommended, especially during peak seasons and weekends, as Old Federal is a very popular campground and sites tend to get booked quickly. Planning ahead ensures you secure your desired spot and can take advantage of the standard, federally offered discounts. For the most precise and up-to-date information on rates and any potential savings, direct inquiry or checking the official booking platform is the best course of action.

Campground has been taken over by jetskiers killing the tranquility and managers does squat. Site 16 picnic table was stolen by jetskiers not part of the campground and who brought it to the beach. Too bad. Lots of potential but management must ensure order to ensure everyone has a great time.

I'm someone who always uses their sporadic day off to go camping. Once you make a reservation online, you should receive a call, where they give you the gate code and gladly answer any questions you may have. The office hours for registration are from 10:00 am - 7:00 pm. Once you arrive, park to the side and enter the building to register, and they will give you directions to your camping spot. Old Federal Campground is by far my favorite. The hosts are the kindest people who are protective of their home. You will never have to worry about outsiders or break-ins with them around. My camping spot has all of my favorite things - lapping waves against the rocks, gentle breezes that rustle lightly through the trees, a variety of harmless wildlife all around. From my spot, the sunrise and sunset sparkle beautifully with an array of colors, reflected in harmony on the lake. I also loved the mountain views off into the distance. The bathrooms are spotless, and there is not a single piece of litter to be found on the entire property at any time. The hosts and campground staff take great pride in where they are, and it shows. I want to thank them for such a lovely time, and I can't wait to come back!
