Outdoor Adventures Campground in Neillsville, Wisconsin, presents an intriguing option for those looking to immerse themselves in nature, perhaps in a "cozy camper great for a romantic getaway." While the campground's overall operations have faced some challenges, as indicated by recent customer feedback, it aims to provide a distinctive outdoor experience for its visitors.

Outdoor Adventures Campground strives to be a destination where campers can enjoy the tranquility of central Wisconsin. The vision appears to lean towards a rustic, "glamping" style of experience, with offerings like cozy camper rentals. However, it's important for potential visitors to be aware of the mixed experiences reported by past guests. While some have "had an absolute awesome time," others have raised significant concerns regarding amenities, operational issues, and communication. This article aims to provide a factual overview based on available public information, allowing you, the local Wisconsin user, to make an informed decision about whether Outdoor Adventures Campground aligns with your camping preferences.

Location and Accessibility

Outdoor Adventures Campground is located at W8355 US-10, Neillsville, WI 54456, USA. Neillsville is a city in Clark County, Wisconsin, known for its rich agricultural heritage and proximity to various outdoor recreational opportunities. US-10 is a major east-west highway, making the campground relatively accessible for travelers and locals alike.

The region around Neillsville is characterized by its natural beauty, offering access to ATV trails and nearby lakes such as Lake Arbutus, which is popular for fishing and boating. While the campground's address on a US highway suggests ease of access, the specific setting within the property might offer a more secluded feel, especially for individual sites or cabin rentals. For those traveling with larger vehicles or requiring specific navigation, it's always advisable to confirm directions. The area provides a good base for exploring the wider Clark County trail system and other outdoor attractions, making it appealing for adventurers looking to explore central Wisconsin's landscape.

Services Offered

Based on the provided information and public data, here are some of the services that Outdoor Adventures Campground aims to offer:

  • Camper Rentals: The campground offers "cozy camper" rentals, described as suitable for a "romantic getaway," suggesting a "glamping" type of experience for those without their own RV.
  • Seasonal Sites: Seasonal sites are available for long-term campers. According to a review, these were priced at $1900.00.
  • RV Hookups: While recent reviews indicate issues, the intention is to provide RV sites with hookups. However, there have been reports of water service being unavailable due to ongoing infrastructure work (new water lines being installed) and past issues with electricity being shut off.
  • Tent Camping: While not explicitly detailed in the provided reviews, many campgrounds offer tent camping alongside RV sites. It's advisable to confirm availability.
  • On-site Bar: There is a "dive bar" open on the premises. However, a review raises concerns about its operating status (no liquor permit mentioned) and potential food violations, which potential visitors should be aware of.
  • Outhouse Facilities: There are outhouse facilities. However, a review mentions issues with power being off in them.

It is crucial for potential guests to directly contact the campground to verify the current availability and operational status of all services, especially those related to utilities (water, electricity) and on-site facilities, given the conflicting information in recent customer feedback.

Outdoor Adventures Campground, as described and inferred from limited information, highlights the following features:

  • Cozy Camper Rentals: A notable feature is the availability of "cozy camper" rentals, which are presented as a good option for a "romantic getaway" or for those seeking a glamping experience without owning their own RV.

  • Proximity to ATV Trails: The campground is located in an area that typically offers access to ATV trails, appealing to off-road enthusiasts looking for a basecamp.
  • Potential for Quiet Setting: Despite being on US-10, the "cozy" and "romantic getaway" descriptions hint at areas within the campground that offer a more private or secluded atmosphere.
  • Lake Arbutus Proximity: While not directly stated as being on the lake, Neillsville is known for its proximity to Lake Arbutus, suggesting opportunities for fishing, boating, and other lake activities nearby.

It is important to manage expectations regarding the state of these features, as some customer reviews suggest inconsistencies in maintenance and functionality.

Conclusion: Why this place is suitable for locals

Outdoor Adventures Campground presents a unique, albeit potentially challenging, option for Wisconsin locals seeking a highly rustic or "glamping" style of outdoor experience in the Neillsville area. For those who prioritize a remote feel, the availability of "cozy camper" rentals could be an attractive feature for a quick romantic escape or a simple getaway without the need for their own camping equipment. The campground's location near US-10 offers reasonable accessibility, and its proximity to ATV trails and Lake Arbutus could appeal to local outdoor enthusiasts looking to engage in specific activities like off-roading or fishing.

However, it is crucial for locals to approach a stay at Outdoor Adventures Campground with careful consideration and managed expectations. The varying customer reviews suggest that while some have had positive experiences, others have encountered significant issues with amenities, maintenance, and reliability of services. For Wisconsinites who are highly adaptable, accustomed to rustic conditions, and willing to verify all details directly before their visit, it might offer a budget-friendly option for a basic camping experience. However, for those seeking guaranteed full services, consistent amenities, or a highly polished camping environment, it would be prudent to thoroughly investigate current conditions and confirm all expectations directly with the campground management, potentially seeking recent references from other campers if possible. Ultimately, its suitability for locals will depend heavily on individual camping styles and tolerance for potential inconsistencies.

It's memorial day weekend still no water. They are putting new water lines only 2 feet deep I'm sure this is illegal. Owes me money and doesn't want to pay. They are very untrustworthy. The campsite is a total disaster. Seasonal sites are $1900.00 not worth it. Last year they didn't pay there electric bill campsite had no electricity for 2 weeks. They have there dive bar open with no liquor permit. There are many food violations happening inside of that bar. Won't turn the power on in the out house. Probably on the verge of having power shut off again.I don't recommend anyone staying there even as a last resort. The owner's owe myself $1900.00 they are not responding. Going to take them to small claims court.

Plenty of treed campsites, but this is predominantly an RV park that caters to the ATV aficionado. We were tent camping and had a great time! Very clean and modern (for a campground) bathroom facilities with pay showers. $1.00 = 7 minutes. Plenty of time for the average adult. They sell firewood and ice right on site and both are incredibly cheap by today's standards. One $8.00 bundle of wood lasted us nearly the entire weekend. And bags of ice were just $2. The only reason I did not rate this as a 5-star site is due to the loudness of all ATVs, even at low speeds, constantly coming into and going out of the campground. But they were all very respectful of the posted speed limits and were all very friendly. Too bad I didn't have an ATV of my own! Lots of fun to be had!

Owner lied to me on phone when making reservation. Told me we have a restaurant and bar on site. They dont. 45 bucks per night. We left after the first night to go elsewhere. Electric box cover feel off when i touched it. Water didn't work. Shower wouldn't work had to get owner to turn it on. Water was scalding hot when it did come on. Owner still charged for 2 nights. No one camping there, plenty of room so they didn't turn anyone away because of our reservation. I will say they were nice enough but takes more than apologies to make up for the shortcomings of this campground. This place was empty for a reason. Camp ground down the road (snyders) booked solid, packed full. Avoid this place at all costs.

They are the most kind friendly people around. This place is absolutely amazing. A cute little getaway with amazing food and amenities. I would recommend this place ten fold. I cant wait to go back. I cant wait to see the updates! My family and I felt like we had known Brian and Sandy our whole life! Clean bathrooms and nice hot showers. Close enough to town but yet nice and quiet. Great access to the atv trails as well. I love this place!!!
