Conclusion: Why this place is suitable for locals
River Beach RV Resort is a particularly suitable destination for residents of New Jersey looking for an accessible, annual summer getaway. The seasonal-only model is the biggest draw for local New Jersey families—it eliminates the weekend-to-weekend stress of packing, driving, and setting up camp. Instead, you can secure your spot and treat your RV site as a fixed vacation home from spring until fall, minimizing travel time and maximizing relaxation time. The proximity to the Great Egg Harbor River and the private marina is a massive local advantage, especially for boat owners or those who dream of spending their summers on the water without the high cost of shore-town property. Being located right in Mays Landing, it offers an 'escape from it all' feeling with the convenience of South Jersey’s amenities and attractions, including Atlantic City and Cape May, being just a short drive away. For New Jersey residents, River Beach RV Resort provides the ideal solution: a friendly, community-oriented summer home base that’s close enough for easy weekend access but far enough to feel like a true, dedicated vacation retreat, allowing you to fully embrace the Jersey Shore lifestyle season after season. It represents an affordable, convenient, and tradition-rich way for local families to create a permanent summer tradition right here in the Garden State.

Vey tight sites with a disorganized layout. Not a real marina as it has no power, no storage, and no dock boxes. So either carry all your gear or get ready to take your favorite boat brush and hose on every trip. Also there is no marina manager so if something goes wrong you are on your own. If you were robbed or the boat was damaged it will be a surprise right before that long-awaited boat ride. There are water spickets at the dock where you can hook that hose up you just took to dinner with you, however the water pressure is terrible. If someone else is washing their boat at the same time don't even bother unless you synchronize a rhythm of taking turns spraying. The boat ramp is closed due to lack of maintenance and a collapse which happened several months ago and instead of a repair, picnic tables were placed across the ramp. Also don't think about driving your golf cart after 11, so if you want to do late night laundry or use the bathhouse be sure your shower slippers are comfortable. Management drives their golf carts all night looking for violators. However they really don't need to as the tattletale population is impressive. The water quality at the camp sites is terrible and reeks of sulfur. Most sites flood during heavy rain leaving you stranded in the camper and your gear floating away for several hours. No outside firewood allowed and if your fire smokes you will be asked to extinguish it. Wifi is terrible. Seagull droppings are unbearable at the marina. Sites have only a 50 Amp plug, no 110 additional outdoor outlets, so any accessories like golf cart charger or outdoor lights have to run through your Camper power outlets. You are responsible for all maintenance on your site, if a weed pops up you will be prompted with photos and an email. As convenient as having black tank hookups are, we and other sites were constantly battling clogs in the hookup. I suspect roots growing in sewage pipes. This place is not kid friendly and it is made clear that they don't want your kids here. No activities for children at all. There are no swing sets or rec yards so the kids dig in the dirt they consider a beach. Hence the name, except they are missing the beach.
Oct 18, 2022 · Derek BarowWe have been camping at River Beach for 20 years. It is our summer getaway to relax, watch the River and beautiful sunsets. Janet the manager and Mike the all around helper guy are always available to help you out if you run into an issue whether it is your issue or theirs. If you are looking for a relaxing atmosphere this is your place.
Oct 21, 2022 · Nancy FieldBEST CAMPGROUND EVER , I’m never leaving I’ll be a seasonal camper as long as I can .
Aug 22, 2025 · A.J. JacquetThis has been our happy place since 2017. Well managed by the previous manager J. She was very friendly, personable yet professional and stern when needed. We love it there. One complaint would be visible piles of “stuff” like old wood, cinder blocks , stone and gravel. Also security should be improved to hinder future thefts of private property.
Nov 20, 2024 · Kris EigenbroodJanet and the team have done a wonderful job in recent years really turning RB into a World Class Resort. Visited during a recent road trip down memory lane. So much has changed—for the better in recent years.
