The fairgrounds are generally easy to navigate, with clear signage leading to the camping area. The primary camping spots, particularly those with hookups, are reportedly located near the main entrance, making arrival and setup straightforward. Guests have noted that while the spots are grass-based and some might be obstructed by trees, the overall accessibility is good for both RVs and travel trailers. Given its location within the fairgrounds, the site's accessibility can vary depending on whether an event is taking place. During major events like the Rice County Fair, access might be more controlled, and the atmosphere more bustling, while outside of event periods, it tends to be a quieter, more open setting.

The proximity to Faribault city amenities is a key aspect of this campground's accessibility. Visitors are just moments away from local shops, restaurants, and other services, providing the convenience of town life alongside their camping experience. Additionally, the presence of a city waterpark and a nice kids' playground directly across the street from the fairgrounds significantly enhances its appeal for families, offering immediate recreational opportunities without needing to drive further afield. Promotions or Special Offers

As a fairground camping site, promotions or special offers are not typically advertised in the same way as private campgrounds might offer seasonal discounts. The pricing structure is set, but it's important for campers to be aware of the rates and plan accordingly.

  • Current 2024 Prices:
    • No Hookups (Dry Camping): $45 per night
    • Electric and Water Hookups: $60 per night
  • Event Pricing: The provided information suggests that these prices apply "regardless if an event is taking place at the fair or not." However, it's always prudent to confirm this when booking, especially during major fairground events, as some venues might have specific event-related policies.

Given the price points, it's advisable for campers to consider the value proposition based on their needs. While some might find the pricing for no-hookup sites to be higher than expected for a basic spot, the convenience of the location and the upcoming dump station might offset this for others. Always contact the fairgrounds directly for the most accurate and up-to-date pricing, availability, and any specific booking requirements.

This would be a one star if it was not for the outstanding staff who were quick to respond to emails and phone messages. 2024 prices are $45 per night no hookups (crazy right?) and $60 a night for electric and water. I believe this is regardless if an event is taking place at the fair or not. Near the main entrance is a row of power and water pedestals that each service 2 back in spots. The pedestals are 16 feet apart. Fortunately we were the only ones there otherwise we would be jammed in like sardines. The spots are grass with some obstructed by trees. It rained during our stay and half of the spots, including ours, were underwater. Dump station is being constructed and should be ready by July 2024. AT&T was 5G with 5 bars. We camped at Rice County Fairgrounds in a Travel Trailer.
