Customer Reviews
This a private gated campground in Saxaphaw NC, and a gem I might ad. Situated on the Haw River with only a 1 mile walk to town, hiking, fishing and other river activities available. The campground offers primitive camping, tree pods a two small cozy/comfy small cabins..and a new tree duplex suitable for vacationing couples or a family...sleeps 8 in two separate suites. Wi-Fi is available throughout the grounds and the amenities are top notch. Availability is limited so book ahead if planning to visit. The host and staff are top notch. Enjoy!!
Everything about this campground is stellar. The grounds are beautiful, proximity is ideal, and amenities are nice and clean. The staff are professional and accommodating and clearly love the community and the land. Can’t wait to share it with all my friends!
This is the nicest campground I’ve been to. The bathrooms and showers are so clean and nice. We stayed in the cabins and it was perfect and cost for our family.
Had a wonderful time here! We were in town for a show at the Ballroom and needed a last minute place to stay. Mike was very quick to respond via phone and email, and super friendly and helpful, giving us some pointers and tips about the area. The cabin was cozy, the bathrooms were clean, and grounds were well maintained. I wish we'd had more time to hang out and have a drink at the canteen, or use the fire pit! We'll definitely be staying here next time we're in town.
I stayed 5 nights at Saxapahaw campground and it was just amazing. The owner is so sweet, kind and welcoming. He definitely has a lot of love and care for this campground. He was so quick to reply to my email and book my spot. I stayed at 'Picking rock' which is directly next to a beautiful waterfall and was away from all the other camp spots, making it very private. The campground is pretty small, which is nice because each spot is relatively close to the bathrooms and showers- making the nightly 2am walk to the bathroom not bad at all!!! There is a lovely hangout area towards the front of the campground. I can't wait to come back to this campground and bring all my friends and family. It would be a blast to rent out a few spots and just enjoy having fun. My favorite part by far, is there is an ice machine on site!
