Perfect spot for exploring NYC! It was so great being able to stay in our home on the road while being a few steps from this amazing city. Our electric and water hookups were great & we felt safe the entire time, even at night. The short walk to the PATH station made it super easy to access any part of the city. We will absolutely be back if ever in the area!
Jul 28, 2025 · Cristen MarshThis was in a great location to see the Statue of Liberty. I was there with just my girls and it seemed decently safe too. They had a gate and security. We were able to walk over to Liberty Park from the campground and then got on a ferry to go to the island. I didn’t get to experience it but it sounded like there might have been night life either on the pier or a block away, so that would be fun for someone without kids. The only drawback is not having sewer in sites, but I knew that going in. They do have a dump station.
Aug 06, 2025 · Ashley ZychAn awesome place! It's a parking lot so definitely has to be your expectation...we had our own accommodations so I can't speak on the bathrooms and I didn't use the laundry services...Water and electric hook ups but no sewer...there is a dump station conveniently located! Check in was easy and the lady at the front desk was so nice and accommodating...she even switched our spot from what I booked online to one she thought we would fit better! She gave us a welcome packet and gave great advice on public transportation into NYC! The location was amazing, quiet, and safe...less than a mile drive to liberty state park for the ferry to ellis island and the statue of liberty! Able to walk about 5 blocks for the subway (grove station) that goes directly to the world trade center...overall a great stay and the location can't be beat!
Jul 11, 2025 · Joanna HannaGreat location! It’s hard or impossible to find another RV park as conveniently located in the NYC area! The prices are high though, so be prepared! The campground is a parking lot, so manage your expectations. My biggest complaint is the lack of dump stations at each location. They boast of 2 dump stations on site, but in reality when the one is used it pretty much blocks access to the second one. The place has decent security and feels quite safe. Now here’s a word to the wise: follow the welcome packet’s directions upon leaving. Your GPS can very quickly get yourself in trouble in this crazy city!
Jul 27, 2025 · Middle Cross RanchAs someone who was apprehensive about the tent camping experience, allow me to break it down for you! Staying here at the tent sites was overall a very great experience. The location is fantastic, the area is safe, and it really is the best bang for your buck. The tent sites are definitely on the smaller side. Unless you have a small tent, there is no room to hang out in your plot. Fortunately there was only one other tent camper, so we were able to hang out on the empty lot next to us. Also BRING A HAMMER! You’ll need to stake your tent down because of the wind, and you won’t be able to press your stakes into the turf by hand. If you prefer shade in the morning, camp at site 6 or 7. If you prefer shade in the evening, camp at site 1 or 12. Because the sites are by the street, there is some light noise from cars and people but it didn’t bother us. My only noise complaint is the laundry machines squeaked badly when in use (and the facility was right next to our tent). One of my bigger concerns about tent camping was safety, but we had zero issues and felt safe the whole time. We had a lock on our tent for good measure, but there was a never a point were we felt unsafe. Overall a very fun experience with little complaints, we would absolutely tent camp again. PS: it’s an urban setting, at night there are rats that scurried around the tent area. Keep your food in your car and your tent shut, they won’t bother you.
