Promotions or Special Offers

As a part of the Indiana State Park system, Taylor Ridge Campground typically operates under standardized pricing and reservation policies set by the Indiana Department of Natural Resources (DNR) rather than offering conventional "promotions" or "special offers" in a commercial sense. However, there are ways for locals to maximize their value and planning for a stay:

  • Indiana State Park Annual Passes: Frequent visitors to Indiana State Parks can benefit significantly from purchasing an Indiana State Park Annual Pass. This pass covers the entrance fee for a full year, which can lead to substantial savings if you plan multiple visits to Brown County State Park or other state properties.
  • Off-Peak Season Rates: Camping rates often vary depending on the season. Visiting during the shoulder seasons (spring and fall) or the winter months (when some amenities might be reduced, like water service at bathhouses due to winterization) can offer lower nightly rates compared to the peak summer season. Check the Indiana DNR website for seasonal pricing structures.
  • Advance Reservations: While not a discount, making reservations up to six months in advance, especially for popular weekends, holidays, or during peak fall foliage season, is crucial to securing your desired campsite. This helps avoid disappointment and ensures you get the best spot for your needs. Reservations can be made through the Indiana DNR's online reservation system (via ReserveAmerica).
  • Group Accommodations: For larger groups, while specific "discounts" may not apply, Brown County State Park offers various camping loops and site types that can accommodate different group sizes. Reserving multiple adjacent sites is the standard approach for group camping.
  • Check DNR and Park Websites for Updates: Any specific events, programs, or rare promotions would be announced on the official Indiana DNR website for Brown County State Park. It's always the best source for the most accurate and current information.

Always refer to the official Indiana DNR website or call the park directly for the most accurate and current information regarding fees, availability, and any potential booking advantages.

During our stay at Taylor Ridge Campground, we had an overall enjoyable experience with beautiful surroundings and plenty of wildlife. However, one unexpected issue we encountered was the shower handles, which gave us a mild tingly shock whenever we touched them. It wasn’t enough to ruin our stay, but it certainly gave us a surprise each time. On the bright side, the rest of the campground was well-maintained, and we even spotted an impressive 6-foot rattlesnake while hiking! It added an exciting element to our outdoor adventure. Despite the minor issue with the showers, we had a great time and would consider returning. Just a heads-up for future visitors to be mindful of those shower handles!

Nice campground - well maintained with nice bathrooms and trash facilities. Camp sites are mostly full shade. If tent camping, you may find yourself without a flat option (at least site 338 and nearby sites were on a minor incline. Getting to Taylor Ridge is about a 10 minute drive from the camp registration / entrance.

Huge state park with 21 miles of hiking trails and a large, dog-friendly campground. One camping area even accommodates campers with horses. The park also hosts a nature center, rental cabins, a hotel and restaurant, and a large pool. Can get crowded at times, so make reservations ahead of your trip if you plan to stay. An added bonus is that this park is near the town of Nashville, IN, with ample shopping and entertainment.

Shady slip. Picnic table needed some repairs, fire ring was great, we even cooked dinners over the campfire.
