We'll delve into its location, what facilities it offers, and crucial considerations for anyone contemplating making Sherwood Forest their next home or long-term camping spot.

Sherwood Forest Manufactured Home is conveniently located at 5302 W Irlo Bronson Memorial Hwy # H, Kissimmee, FL 34746, USA. This address places the community directly on a major thoroughfare, Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway (also known as US-192), which is one of the primary arteries connecting to Kissimmee’s most popular attractions. The most significant advantage of this location is its undeniable proximity to popular activities. For residents and visitors alike, this means quick and easy access to world-renowned theme parks, entertainment complexes, dining establishments, and shopping centers that define the Central Florida experience.

While the immediate surroundings are bustling with tourist activity, the direct access to US-192 facilitates convenient travel throughout the wider Kissimmee and Orlando metropolitan area. This accessibility is a key factor for those who plan to frequently visit attractions, commute to work in the surrounding cities, or simply enjoy the vast array of leisure opportunities that Central Florida provides. Despite the convenience, it's worth noting that a location on a major highway often means exposure to associated noise. Given the area's popularity, the presence of tour helicopters flying overhead and frequent police sirens is part of the ambient environment. This is a common characteristic of areas highly frequented by tourists and emergency services in a vibrant city like Kissimmee, and something potential residents should factor into their decision-making process for daily life.

  • Guide Map of the Area: Upon arrival, visitors can receive a guide map, which can be a helpful tool for navigating the local area and discovering nearby attractions and services.
  • Access to Recreational Facilities: The community provides access to recreational amenities such as a pool, billiards, and ping pong. These are intended for leisure and entertainment within the park.
  • Equipment Access for Games: For activities like billiards and ping pong, equipment can be obtained from the front desk. This system requires leaving a license as collateral, which is then retrieved upon returning the equipment.
  • Shower Houses: Shower facilities are available for use by residents and guests. Access to these facilities requires a key card, indicating a level of controlled access for security and resident-only use.

Sherwood Forest Manufactured Home, as a community primarily offering manufactured homes and annual campsites, presents several features and highlights that are important for prospective residents and annual campers to consider. These points are drawn from available information and aim to provide a balanced view:

  • Proximity to Popular Activities: One of the most significant advantages is its location directly on W Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway, placing it exceptionally close to Kissimmee’s major attractions and entertainment venues. This is a strong positive for those who prioritize convenient access to theme parks, dining, and shopping.
  • Availability of Annual Campsites and Park Models: The park primarily functions as a sales office for park models and offers annual campsites. This indicates it caters to individuals seeking long-term or semi-permanent living arrangements in the area, offering a different proposition than a short-term RV park. For those in the market for an annual camp site, the opportunity to spend a few days here first to assess suitability is explicitly recommended by some.
  • Guided Area Information: The provision of a guide map of the area is a helpful feature for new arrivals, assisting them in navigating Kissimmee and finding local points of interest.
  • Recreational Amenities: The presence of a pool, billiards, and ping pong facilities offers options for on-site recreation and leisure, which can be appealing for downtime within the community.
  • Controlled Access to Facilities: The requirement of a key card to access shower houses suggests a level of security and controlled access, intended for registered residents and guests.

It is important to note certain aspects that may require personal evaluation:

  • Mixed Condition of Properties: Some observations suggest that while there are active sales, some trailers for sale might appear in a state that warrants close inspection, with descriptions such as "condemned, boarded up windows, caution tape." Prospective buyers are strongly advised to meticulously inspect any units they are considering.
  • Operational Hours and Access to Equipment: The front office, which handles equipment for billiards and ping pong, reportedly closes at 5 PM, which might limit access to these amenities for those who wish to use them in the evening.
  • Inconsistent Pool Hours Signage: Reports indicate confusing and conflicting signage regarding pool hours, leading to potential frustration regarding access times.
  • Environmental Noise: Due to the park's location in a highly transient and tourist-heavy area, there are reports of frequent noise from tour helicopters flying overhead and regular police sirens. This is a factor to consider for those sensitive to noise.
  • WiFi and Cell Reception: There are reports of requiring payment for WiFi and issues with general cell phone reception, which could be a concern for those reliant on connectivity.
  • Community Appearance: Some feedback mentions overgrown grass and "abandoned motor homes looking trashy," which could impact the overall aesthetic appeal for some.
  • Safety Perceptions: While no specific disturbances were noted, some individuals have expressed not feeling safe walking around alone in the community, reflecting a subjective perception that potential visitors might want to assess personally.

As a community primarily focused on the sale of manufactured homes and annual campsites, specific, publicly advertised "promotions or special offers" like those found in short-term RV parks or hotels are not typically detailed in general information. However, prospective buyers of manufactured homes or those interested in securing an annual campsite should always inquire directly with the sales office at Sherwood Forest Manufactured Home. They may offer:

  • Financing options for manufactured home purchases.
  • Incentives for annual campsite commitments, such as discounted rates for longer terms.
  • Special pricing on specific park models or lots during certain periods.
  • Any current move-in specials or limited-time offers related to sales.

Given that customer reviews mention the sales office being closed at times during their visits, it is crucial to confirm operating hours and schedule appointments in advance if you plan to visit to discuss purchase options or annual site arrangements. Direct communication with the park's sales team is the best approach to learn about any available deals or tailored offers that might suit your needs for a long-term stay or home purchase in the community.

I would like to start off by saying I’ve stayed at better camp sites, in a tent!! Grass is way overgrown here, abandoned motor homes looking trashy. Not the ideal view. However you are close to popular activities. You get a nice little guide map of the area. Shower houses were disgusting.. I’ll let my pictures show you. You also need key card to get into them. Had a big issue with the pool. In the Langley at front desk it says pools hours are 7am-10pm. Pool rules board says Dawn to Dusk. And they have a makeshift sign up that says 9am-8:30pm. It’s literally duck taped on. Very confusing. And then we get kicked out of the pool at 9pm??! Faulty advertising. We tried using the Billards and ping pong inside. But you have to walk to front desk to get the equipment. Leaving your license. When you bring stuff back you pick your license up. But the front office closes at 5. Schedules need help here. This is a very transient area and I do not feel safe walking around alone in this community. However we were not disturbed by anybody, loud noises however,.. every few minutes tour helicopters are flying over. And hourly police sirens going by. Disturb your day trying to enjoy the outside and wake you from your sleep. You have to pay for wifi here. We didn’t and it screwed up our phones for a couple days. Very bad reception I would not suggest this site to anyone. And if you DARE to camp here, be safe.

From what if could tell this is a sales office for park models and annual sites. Can’t say for certain, it was closed during our 4 day visit. If you are in the market for an annual camp site, I would recommend spending a few days here first. Check the bath houses, grass length, and if your cell phone works as it should. The trailers for sale looked condemned, boarded up windows, caution tape and a for sale sign. You be the judge…….

My mother bought here 3 years ago. DO NOT buy here. The lot rent is $936 a month! Security at the booth is very random. The roads are a mess. There are much nicer places with much lower lot rents. The lot rent here includes nothing but garbage pick up.

Road construction should be done soon. I really need those hot tub hours back to 10pm for the fun adult time. Over a number of years the only friends/family I've met with TT started in that hot tub. The tub is open later than any others in TT/Oncore. I'm a night person and I work at night. I really look forward to going to that tub!

Me and my fiance love this camp site and Encore in general. The Kissemee location has Michelle (front desk) she is always very kind when we visit here and for the all my interactions with staff has been pleasent. We travel all over the country and visit all Encore sites. But this location has one particular employee we have bad interactions with every time we visit the Kissimmee location, and her name is Carmen I (front desk) short middle aged latina women with glasses. She is always a very unpleasant, rude and unprofessional to me and my fiance, anytime we interact with her or need assistance. To a point if she is working we will not go up to the front desk. She is a very short tempered individual who shouldn't be working customer service. Very sad since this is a very nice campsite but has employeed a particular individual who can make your stay feel very unwelcomed. If you don't want your Familys Florida vacation disrupted while staying at this beautiful site, stay away from Carmen.
