Location and Accessibility

Water's Edge RV Park on the Meramec is located at 803 Butler Ct, Arnold, MO 63010, USA. This address places the park in the city of Arnold, a suburb south of St. Louis, making it a highly accessible option for residents of the greater metropolitan area and those passing through Missouri.

The park's proximity to major roadways is a significant advantage. Arnold is well-connected to Highway 141 and Interstate 55, providing straightforward routes to downtown St. Louis, which is typically a 20-30 minute drive away, depending on traffic. This connectivity ensures that residents have convenient access to urban amenities, employment opportunities, medical facilities, and entertainment options without enduring lengthy commutes. The location also allows for relatively easy access to other popular Missouri attractions, including various state parks, recreation areas along the Meramec River, and the broader natural beauty of the region.

While the park is conveniently located, it is important to note, as some reviews indicate, that there can be "street noise from local highway" (Hwy 141). Additionally, its immediate surroundings might include commercial establishments, such as a "used car dealer" directly behind it. However, the park itself is "bordered mostly by trees," which can help mitigate some of the external noise and provide a more natural boundary. For RVers prioritizing proximity to services and major routes for long-term living, these practical considerations often outweigh the desire for absolute wilderness seclusion. The overall accessibility to necessities and larger urban centers makes this a practical choice for many Missourians.

Services Offered

Water's Edge RV Park on the Meramec primarily caters to long-term residents, offering essential services designed to facilitate comfortable and stable RV living. The services focus on core necessities rather than extensive recreational amenities.

  • Full Hookup RV Sites: The park provides full hookup sites, which include connections for water, sewer, and electricity (with 30-amp and 50-amp options available at each site). This is fundamental for comfortable long-term RV living, allowing residents to be fully self-contained.
  • Concrete Sites: Many sites feature concrete pads, offering a level, stable, and clean surface for parking RVs. This is a highly valued amenity for long-term stays, contributing to the park's overall maintenance and appearance.
  • Clean Laundry Facility: An on-site laundry facility is available and noted as being "clean," which is a crucial convenience for residents, especially those staying for extended periods.
  • Responsive Management: Reviewers consistently praise the park's management for being "nice and responsive," indicating a commitment to addressing residents' needs and maintaining the park effectively.
  • Utilities: Beyond the standard hookups, the park's pricing structure indicates that monthly rates include electric usage (often with a separate metering or cap), providing transparency for long-term budgeting.
  • Pet-Friendly Environment: While not explicitly detailed, most RV parks catering to long-term stays are pet-friendly, allowing residents to live with their companions (though specific rules on leashing and waste disposal would apply).

It is important to note that while the park's name includes "on the Meramec," the primary access to the river may involve a path through woods, as some reviews suggest, and the "water's edge" is not necessarily immediate to all sites. The emphasis here is on practical living features.

Its suitability for local residents, particularly those who embrace the full-time or extended RV lifestyle, is rooted in several key advantages that prioritize stability and convenience.

This means the park's operations, amenities (like the clean laundry facility), and management style are geared towards the needs of a stable community, fostering a more settled and predictable living experience for Missourians choosing the RV lifestyle. The tenants are very quiet. However, there's a lot of noise from Hwy 141 and it's located directly behind a used car dealer. Had my husband not been an experienced driver, there's no way someone would be able to back their camper/rv into spot 837. It's not on the waters edge. There is a path you can take through some very questionable woods and there was a lot of traffic in and out of the woods after dark. There was also random propane tanks, leftover truckbed liners, concrete pad was busted and uneven. Some of the other sites were newer. This is a long term living camper/rv park, not a weekend getaway type park. Price was fine for a holiday weekend, but absolutely nothing what we expected. I think it's a work in progress, but wouldn't recommend at this time unfortunately.

Great RV park. Well maintained, prices are fair, laundry facility is clean, neighbors are spectacular, management is nice and responsive, concrete sites are spacious and the park is bordered mostly by trees. Only one draw back was the street noise from local highway. I mitigated this with a fan for white noise. Stayed here seven months and would stay again.
