While RV parks vary widely in their offerings, 5 Star RV Park focuses on providing essential services in a quiet, rural-adjacent setting, making it a viable choice for both short-term visitors and those looking for a longer-term base in the Tyler area.
5 Star RV Park, located just outside the bustling heart of Tyler, positions itself as a no-frills, functional campground designed to meet the core needs of RV travelers. It caters to those who prioritize affordability, convenience, and a relaxed atmosphere over extensive resort-style amenities. This makes it particularly appealing to local Texans who are familiar with the diverse range of RV parks and understand the value of a quiet, accessible spot. The park aims to be a comfortable home base, whether you're passing through, visiting local attractions, or settling in for an extended period.
The true essence of 5 Star RV Park, as reflected in various customer experiences, lies in its simplicity and the peaceful environment it strives to maintain. While some might seek "whistles and bells" at an RV resort, many Texans appreciate a straightforward park where they can relax, access necessary hookups, and be close enough to town for convenience. Let's delve into the specifics of what 5 Star RV Park offers, its location, and why it might be the perfect fit for your next RV adventure in East Texas.

The park boasts excellent access from major thoroughfares. From I-20, travelers can take Exit 560 (Lavender Road/County Road 35) and travel approximately 2.3 miles south to find the park on the right. - Affordable Long-Term Rates: While specific long-term monthly rates are not always widely published without direct inquiry, RV parks that cater to long-term guests, like 5 Star RV Park, often offer more economical rates for extended stays compared to nightly or weekly rates. It is always recommended to directly contact 5 Star RV Park to confirm current rates, inquire about any specific specials, and verify the terms of any discounts (like Passport America's applicability or potential blackout dates) before making a reservation. For Texans, 5 Star RV Park in Tyler offers a compelling option for RV camping that prioritizes convenience, affordability, and a tranquil setting. Its suitability for local residents stems from several key aspects that align well with the needs of those seeking a practical and accessible RV experience in East Texas.
Firstly, its strategic location on County Road 35 (Lavender Road) provides the perfect balance of rural peace and urban accessibility. Local Texans appreciate being able to escape to a quiet, spacious environment without sacrificing proximity to essential services. With downtown Tyler's amenities just a short drive away, and Lake Tyler even closer, campers have easy access to shopping, dining, medical facilities, and popular recreational areas. This convenience means less time spent traveling and more time enjoying their stay, whether it's for a quick weekend getaway or an extended period.

Many Texans who own RVs look for parks that offer reliable utilities and basic comforts without the added cost of resort-style extras they might not use. The emphasis on spacious sites, including big-rig friendly options, ensures a comfortable experience for a wide range of RVs, reducing the stress of tight maneuvers often found in less accommodating parks.

Customer Reviews
5 Star my foot! Sewer broke! Poop and cig butts all over the spot. Dumpy and gross place! Owner; rude liar. Tells you to pull in and pick a spot, then says he didn't and acts offended? I apologized and left FAST! Very confused by the owner!! HORRIBLE communication skills! The RVs here were 90% dumps and surrounded by garbage and debris. Dogs run around NO LEASHES! Grounds unkept, overgrown, debris everywhere! I do not recommend. Not worth it.
Found owner nice, laid back, friendly. Tenants we met friendly. Nice quiet small park. Our second visit, stormed both times. Can't control Mother Nature. Love the atmosphere, the closeness to town and nice view leading to park. Priced satisfactorily. If looking for whistles and bells, wrong park. Love it and quiet atmosphere. Our main park now when visiting Tyler.
Great for our purposes! We spent 3 nights at 5-Star and it was perfect for our purposes. We were out and about from 7:30am until 10:00pm. We called on our way into camp, briefly met the owner, setup camp and left for the beginning of our event. The owner is a very nice man and lives on the premises as do his adult children. He confirmed how many nights we were staying and said that we would settle up before we left. We had full hookups including cable. Everything went very smoothly for us. They honor all RV discount programs. There are not many trees at the pads but a few places where shade might be available - we didn't ask the owner. But, he was out watering new trees so tree shade might change. There was some road noise during the day - but not at night. We found that the noise description on their website was accurate. This is a great place for an overnight or a few nights where you will be out and about in Tyler. It was perfect for our needs and we will stay there next time we are in Tyler.
It's ok for a few nights wouldn't recommend long-term. Stayed a few months myself. Free wifi is equivalent to dial up speed and frequently goes out for days at a time. The manager was nice and understanding but isn't available most of the time. Lawn maintenance is a joke. All facilities have a run down look. Very loud at night from gunshots to loud music.
Quiet, clean, with great wifi service. The owner is really laid back, though you have to call directly because he's rarely in the office. It has a decent laundry facility and is inexpensive. We stayed for a week in a 26 ft. 30 amp travel trailer. There's a lot of room to walk if you have pets and a lovely pond a good distance away from the parking spaces (not very many mosquitoes---even though it was really wet and warm). There isn't a lot of tree cover everywhere, but for the most part where there is vegetation or coverage manages to block the sun for the most intense parts of the day. The long-term tenants are also quite and friendly. I would recommend this place over a lot of KOAs if you don't want to be around a lot of people, because it's not very busy.
