Hilltop Mobile Home Park About
For residents across Illinois, seeking affordable housing solutions or a sense of community outside of traditional stick-built homes, mobile home parks can often present a viable option. These communities are designed to provide manufactured homes within a managed environment, typically offering lot rentals and a range of shared amenities. In Lexington, Illinois, Hilltop Mobile Home Park is one such community that has been a housing option for various individuals and families over the years.
Hilltop Mobile Home Park is situated in a smaller, more rural community, aiming to provide a accessible living solution in Central Illinois. While the concept of mobile home park living emphasizes affordability and a neighborhood feel, it is crucial for prospective residents to gain a clear and factual understanding of what a specific park offers. This article will focus on providing available public information about Hilltop Mobile Home Park, drawing from both its factual details and insights from real customer reviews to offer a comprehensive overview.
Our aim is to provide Illinois users with objective information regarding its location, accessibility, and the general scope of services and features that might be expected, allowing for informed decision-making. We will also present direct contact information for those who wish to inquire further about this particular mobile home park.
Location and Accessibility
Hilltop Mobile Home Park is located at 1 Hilltop Trailer Court, Lexington, IL 61753, USA. Lexington is a small town situated in McLean County, Central Illinois. Its location offers a quieter, more rural living environment compared to larger urban centers, while still providing relatively easy access to nearby towns and cities.
The park's address, "1 Hilltop Trailer Court," suggests it is set somewhat apart, possibly on a higher elevation or within a dedicated court, which might imply a certain degree of seclusion from the main thoroughfares of Lexington. As a smaller community, Lexington typically offers basic local amenities such such as local shops, gas stations, and community services. For more extensive shopping, dining, and employment opportunities, residents would likely look to larger nearby cities such as Bloomington-Normal, which is a significant urban center in Central Illinois and typically within a reasonable driving distance from Lexington.
Accessibility to major road networks would involve local routes connecting to state highways that lead to larger regional roads and interstates. This allows for convenient travel for residents who commute or wish to access broader services and entertainment options available in the greater Central Illinois area. The rural setting of Lexington implies that public transportation options might be limited, making personal vehicle ownership often a necessity for residents of the mobile home park to navigate the area effectively.
Services Offered
Based on the nature of mobile home parks and the limited, though critical, information from customer reviews, typical services offered at Hilltop Mobile Home Park would generally revolve around the provision and maintenance of lots for manufactured homes. While specific details on extensive amenities are not readily available or positively highlighted, common expectations for such communities include:
- Lot Rental: The core service of a mobile home park is the rental of individual lots or spaces where residents can place their manufactured homes. This typically includes connections to essential utilities such as water, sewer, and electricity.
- Utility Connections: Essential utility hookups (water, sewer, and electricity) are fundamental for each mobile home lot, enabling residents to connect their homes to these services. The responsibility for utility costs (e.g., electricity, gas) often falls to the resident, while water/sewer may be part of the lot rent or billed separately.
- Road Maintenance: The park management is typically responsible for maintaining internal roadways within the mobile home park, ensuring they are accessible for residents and service vehicles.
- Trash Collection: While not explicitly mentioned, most mobile home parks arrange for garbage collection services for their residents, either through communal bins or curbside pickup.
However, it is critically important to address the significant concerns raised in customer reviews regarding the management and overall living experience. Reviews explicitly state issues such as: "constant harassment by the trailer court manager," accusations of property damage, and "lost payments on more than one occasion." A reviewer also highlighted "lack of maintenance" and the absence of facilities for children ("If you have children, there is nothing for them here....nothing."). These severe criticisms suggest potential issues with the promised level of service and management efficiency that prospective residents should carefully consider and verify.
Features / Highlights
When evaluating a mobile home park, features and highlights typically refer to the amenities and attributes that enhance the living experience. However, based on the provided customer reviews for Hilltop Mobile Home Park, the feedback heavily leans towards significant concerns rather than positive features or highlights. Therefore, it is important to address this directly and factually.
Based on the provided information, the distinct features and highlights that might typically be sought in a mobile home park, such as community spaces, recreational facilities, or well-maintained common areas, are unfortunately not positively highlighted, and indeed, are explicitly contradicted by customer experiences. Reviewers express deep dissatisfaction with aspects that would normally be considered key features, including:
- Absence of Child-Friendly Amenities: One reviewer states, "If you have children, there is nothing for them here....nothing." This indicates a severe lack of recreational facilities or safe play areas for families with children, which is often a key feature for mobile home communities aiming to attract families.
- Significant Management Issues: The most prominent "feature" highlighted by reviews is the negative experience with park management. Phrases like "constantly get harassed by the trailer court manager," accusations of the manager trying to "steal your money and say she lost it," and "slandered my name so bad" are critical points that directly contradict the positive management and community atmosphere often seen as a highlight in other parks.
- Lack of Maintenance: A reviewer specifically mentioned "lack of maintenance," suggesting that the physical upkeep of the park and its infrastructure may not be consistently maintained to a satisfactory standard.
- Quality of Homes: One review also criticizes the quality of the homes themselves, stating, "The trailers aren't even any good." While this refers to individual units rather than park-provided amenities, it contributes to an overall negative perception of the living environment.
Therefore, based purely on the provided customer feedback, the "features" of Hilltop Mobile Home Park from a resident's perspective appear to be dominated by significant operational and management challenges rather than positive community amenities or aesthetic highlights. Prospective residents would need to conduct thorough due diligence, including in-person visits and discussions with current residents, to independently verify the current conditions and management practices.
Promotions or Special Offers
As a professional content writer providing factual information, it's crucial to state that based on the provided customer reviews and typical public information available for mobile home parks, there is no indication of any promotions or special offers at Hilltop Mobile Home Park. Unlike recreational campgrounds or new housing developments that might advertise seasonal discounts, move-in incentives, or loyalty programs, mobile home parks typically operate on a standard lot rental fee structure, which may vary based on lot size or location within the park, but not usually through publicized promotions.
The focus of the provided customer reviews is on critical issues related to management, maintenance, and the overall living experience, rather than pricing or promotional deals. Therefore, it would be inappropriate and unsubstantiated to invent any "promotions or special offers" for this location. Any information regarding lot rental fees, deposits, or contractual terms would need to be obtained directly from the park management.
For prospective residents, the primary "offer" from any mobile home park is the opportunity to rent a lot for a manufactured home, often at a more affordable price point compared to traditional homeownership or apartment rentals in the surrounding area. However, the value of this offer is heavily influenced by the quality of management, maintenance, and community environment, which, according to the provided reviews, are significant areas of concern at Hilltop Mobile Home Park. Any discussions about financial arrangements, including rental costs, utility responsibilities, or any fees, would need to occur directly between interested parties and the park management.

Conclusion: Why this place is suitable for locals
When evaluating the suitability of Hilltop Mobile Home Park for residents of Illinois, particularly those in the Central Illinois region, it is essential to provide a balanced yet factual perspective, incorporating the provided customer feedback. While mobile home parks often appeal to locals seeking affordable housing options and a sense of community, the provided reviews for Hilltop Mobile Home Park present significant challenges that directly impact its suitability.
The primary potential appeal for locals would typically lie in the promise of more affordable living in a smaller town setting, offering a contrast to the higher costs associated with housing in larger urban centers like Bloomington-Normal. Lexington provides a quieter, rural environment, which could be attractive to individuals or families preferring a less bustling lifestyle.
However, the overwhelmingly negative sentiment expressed in customer reviews regarding management and living conditions raises serious concerns about its suitability. Explicit complaints about "constant harassment by the trailer court manager," accusations of "lost payments," and a "lack of maintenance" directly contradict the fundamental expectations of a stable and respectful living environment. The statement that "If you have children, there is nothing for them here....nothing," points to a severe lack of family-friendly amenities, which would make it unsuitable for many families seeking a community for their children.
Furthermore, the claims of "slandered my name so bad" and difficulty finding employment due to such actions are extremely serious allegations that speak to the broader impact of the park's management on its residents' lives within the local community. These issues suggest that the very foundation of "community living" – mutual respect and reliable management – may be compromised.
In conclusion, while Hilltop Mobile Home Park might theoretically offer an affordable housing option in a rural Illinois town, the severe and consistent negative feedback from past residents regarding management, maintenance, and the overall living environment casts a significant shadow on its suitability for locals. Prospective residents from Illinois are strongly advised to exercise extreme caution, conduct extensive personal due diligence, including on-site visits and direct conversations with multiple current residents, and thoroughly verify all terms and conditions before considering Hilltop Mobile Home Park as a living option.
Customer Reviews
Would not recommend at all. Stayed here with my mom for years and we constantly get harrassed by the trailer court manager. She'll try to steal your money and say she lost it. She's senile. Not to mention she's been accusing me of breaking windows and destroying skerting on her trailers. She's accused me of more than a dozen things and all happened while I wasn't even in town. If you live here you'll just get your name slandered. It is almost impossible for me to find a job in Lexington cus she's slandered my name so bad. Id give it a zero stars if I could. DO NOT STAY HERE. The trailers aren't even any good.
After living here since the end of 2017 I can honestly say this is the absolute worst place I have ever rented from. Every step of the way has been a disaster. From ownership, to management, to the lack of maintenance and everything in between. The manager even lost payments on more than one occasion. If you have children, there is nothing for them here....nothing.
Hate that my mom has to live here. The manager is a nut case!!
Outdated and empty mobile homes and plenty of squabbling between tenants.
I lived the 2 years it was good.
