It is a nice area. I am a hospice nurse and had some difficulty getting to a patient by being held up at the gate. Despite telling them who the resident was and their address, I had to present my name badge before they would allow me in. I suppose one could say they are pretty secure as well.
I love living here the people are wonderful
I absolutely love, love, love this place. It's a community for people 55 and older. (Younger people can live here if the majority of the house is over 55, but no one under 18.) There are rules re: quiet. No loud anything after 10pm. No idiot neighbors terrorising the dogs (and everyone else!) on the fourth of July by setting off M-80s every 5-7 minutes for over *eleven hours* straight. (Yes, that really happened.) Sidewalks are promptly cleared of snow, and maintenance will clear residents' driveways for a small fee. It's safe and secure. The gate is manned 24/7, and a unique sticker identifies each resident. Guests are *only* let in if the gate guard is notified by a resident via a private number that the person is coming. Everyone is very friendly and welcoming. There's a social club that hosts bingo or bunko every week at the clubhouse, as well as a themed party most months. It's really just a great place all the way around.
Pros: Quiet community. Dog friendly, Gated community. Nice office staff and beautiful club house. Cons: Streets are not maintained during snow fall. Lot rental fees are a bit high. Water quality is not the best. Filter system seems to help though.
My hubby and I have lived here for almost 2 years and we really love it. PROS are the security, cleanliness, quiet, neighbors are all nice, it's diverse, beautiful clubhouse, and we are near Old Plank Trail. The only CON is the high lot rent.
