This campground, likely part of a natural resource district (NRD) or county park system, offers a refreshingly simple and beautiful setting for camping, fishing, and enjoying the great outdoors. Unlike highly commercialized parks, Area Five Campground focuses on providing the core elements of a great camping trip: a peaceful environment, ample recreational opportunities, and a chance to truly unwind under the Nebraska sky. It's a place where first fish are caught, lasting memories are made, and the value of time spent in nature far outweighs any modern conveniences.
Nebraska, with its diverse landscapes ranging from rolling prairies to scenic river valleys, provides numerous opportunities for outdoor recreation. Campgrounds like Area Five play a vital role in making these natural treasures accessible to residents. While it may not boast electrical hookups for RVs, this very aspect contributes to its charm, encouraging a more traditional and immersive camping experience. For many Nebraskan families, camping is about disconnecting from screens and reconnecting with each other, and Area Five Campground is perfectly suited for this purpose.
The reviews from past visitors strongly affirm the campground's appeal. Phrases like "Very beautiful, family friendly place to fish, camp and swim" capture the essence of what Area Five offers. It's a place where the simple joys of catching a fish, splashing in the water, or sitting around a campfire are the main attractions. The sentiment "Far worth the $21 for everlasting memories!" speaks volumes about the intrinsic value of the experiences created here, highlighting that a high price tag isn't necessary for profound moments.
While some visitors have noted the lack of electrical hookups, this is often a deliberate feature of campgrounds designed to preserve a more natural aesthetic and encourage self-sufficiency among campers. For those with generators or who prefer tent camping, this is a minor detail compared to the abundant natural beauty and recreational opportunities available. Area Five Campground is a testament to the fact that sometimes, the best experiences are found in the simplicity of nature.

The campground's exact position within Martell would typically be associated with a larger park or recreation area, such as the popular Glenn Cunningham Lake (though it's in Omaha, not Martell, suggesting this might be a regional park like Spring Creek Prairie Audubon Center or a county park). However, based on the reviews, it's clearly a well-known spot for camping, fishing, and swimming. Access to the campground is generally straightforward, involving a drive on well-maintained county roads from nearby state highways.

My son had a great 1st camping trip here! Caught his first fish. Only dislike was paying. Not clear on price for camping only clear price is for registration for park entry. I put $21 in the envelope and called it good. Far worth the $21 for everlasting memories!
Very beautiful, family friendly place to fish, camp and swim. I wish it had electrical hook ups for the travel trailer. Won't stop me and my two boys from coming here, will have to use the generator.
Perfect for a short trip! The campground was very open and there were lots of spaces available. Only single toilets but again if it is a shorter trip it's great! Also was pretty quiet and serene and not to many bugs!
Give it a 2 because they almost doubled the nightly rate to stay from $8 per night to $15 per night for nothing. No electric, no water except community hand pump, no pads. Basically $15 per night to park on the mowed grass and outhouse. Ripped off by the state again. Plus the park entry fees went up also.
