Promotions or Special Offers
As a campground managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Bo Wood Campground's pricing and any potential "special offers" typically adhere to federal recreation fee schedules. Rather than conventional promotional discounts often seen in private businesses, benefits usually come in the form of federal pass programs or standard pricing structures. However, it's worth noting these common aspects:
- America the Beautiful Passes: Holders of various America the Beautiful National Parks and Federal Recreational Lands Passes, such as the Senior Pass or Access Pass, may be eligible for a 50% discount on standard amenity fees at Bo Wood Campground. This is a significant saving for eligible individuals and families. One reviewer mentioned paying "$9.00 dollars a nite" with such a pass for an electric-only site, highlighting the value.
- Seasonal Rates: Camping fees generally vary based on the type of site (e.g., electric, full hookup) and the specific season. It's always advisable to check the official recreation.gov website for the most up-to-date pricing.
- Online Reservation Benefits: While not a "promotion," the ability to reserve campsites up to six months in advance through recreation.gov allows campers to secure their preferred sites, especially for popular weekends and holidays, which can feel like a "special offer" when demand is high.
- First-Come, First-Served Sites: While many sites are reservable, some campgrounds (or specific sites within them) might operate on a first-come, first-served basis, offering flexibility for spontaneous trips, though this requires early arrival during peak times.
For the most accurate and current information on fees, discounts (including federal pass eligibility), and reservation policies, prospective campers should visit recreation.gov or contact Bo Wood Campground directly.

Customer Reviews
Site 89. Huge site. Very wide and long. Needed leveling boards driver side but no big deal. Full hookups. Nice campground.
By luck of a cancellation we camped only 2 nights on the water. If this back in site fitting our 35’ 5th wheel, Montana High Country would not have been reserved we would have stayed extra nights. Quiet, beautiful hiking trails & looks to be very nice cabins to rent, secluded. We are hopeful our journeys will take us back there! Highly recommend it!
This campground is quite nice. There are multiple sections. The guard gate area is very large for accommodating multiple vehicles for sign in along with two dump stations. Pull through spots in sections are very well sized, back in sections are varying sizes with varying views. Some have lake views/access for beaching. There are jungle gyms. There is a picnic area past the boat ramp. The areas are usually kept clean and there are many bathrooms. Boat ramp is easy to use but there is a fair amount of traffic near it so there are a lot of waves ( not a large no wake area as in a cove). Mostly flat so great for kids to ride bikes, roller skate, etc.. Camp store prior to entering. Close to Sullivan if supplies are needed. Close to North End bar and grill (located on the water with land access) which has good food, good amount of indoor/outdoor seating, ice and fuel.
Fantastic Corp of engineers campground. Right on lake Shelbyville with a boat launch. Huge sites and very clean well kept campground. Stayed on site 82 full hook ups level site. Enjoyed our stay. They also have dog park enclosure.
I stayed at tent only site. It was right on the lake. Unfortunately you didn’t have the best view a lot of bushes in the way. But they did have a bench close to where you could sit and look at the lake. The site did have a very large pad to accommodate several tents. It did have electricity. That’s a plus for me. Bathrooms are clean the grounds kept very nice. It was quiet and very relaxing. I will return. I’d like to see what it looks like in the fall. I would’ve gave it a five except for not having the best views of the lake if they would only cut the bushes down and leave the trees. I would definitely say five.
