It's a place where you can enjoy the peace of lakeside camping while having the option to indulge in resort-style comforts. This dual appeal makes it particularly attractive to those who might want to introduce family members to camping without sacrificing modern conveniences, or to experienced campers looking for a more refined experience. The concept of a campground integrated with a resort is relatively unique, providing a "perfect mix of rustic and ritzy" that caters to a broader range of preferences.

The value proposition of a campground often extends beyond just the campsite itself. At Briar Point, the proximity and optional access to Stonewall Resort's extensive facilities significantly enhance the overall experience. Imagine waking up to a beautiful lake view, spending your day hiking or boating, and then opting for a gourmet meal at a resort restaurant, or unwinding by a heated pool. This seamless integration of outdoor adventure with luxury amenities sets Briar Point apart from more traditional campgrounds in the region. It allows campers to tailor their experience, choosing to immerse themselves fully in nature or to enjoy the comforts of a high-end resort, or a combination of both.

Furthermore, the attention to detail in site design and maintenance, along with the provision of clean and modern facilities, contributes to a stress-free and enjoyable stay. While some campgrounds may be "pricier" than others, the value derived from the quality of the sites, the cleanliness of the facilities, and the access to resort amenities can easily justify the cost for many. This overview will delve into the specifics of what makes Briar Point Campground a standout destination in West Virginia, drawing from real customer experiences to give you a comprehensive picture of what to expect.

We have been traveling for over 45 days and have stayed at many campgrounds. This was the most pricey. Our site had very little shade but the view was appealing of the golf course and bridge to the resort. The all you can eat buffet at the resort was priced right and yummy.

Nice campground inside Stonewall Resort. A little pricey but definitely better value than KOA or other places that advertise as resorts. We tried to rent one of the Craig Cat boats at the Marina but they were fully booked for several days. We went over to the main resort building and enjoyed the swimming pool, which was not too crowded. Checked out the exercise equipment while we were there and it looked very nice. Bathroom were very nice and clean; we used their showers rather than our RV. We booked one of the "Premium Lake View Sites" which was nice. I believe it was site 9 and it was directly across from the bath house.

Briar Point Campground is a small peninsula that juts into the West Fork River. The shape means that almost all campsites have beautiful views of the surrounding area. The campsites are very close and look right in on one another without any privacy screening, which you might want to know ahead of time. The campground has two bathhouses, and the central one includes showers. My wife and I camped in the back of our SUV in late fall for one night during a cross-state road trip. These photos were taken around 8 am the week of 10/28/2024. The amenities come at a fee. Rates are listed on the WV State Parks website. I recommend making reservations. There are 40 campsites in total, all of which have power hookups. Here are the specific details from the state parks website: - Seven sites with 50amp electric, 33 sites with 30amp electric - Full hook ups including electric, water and sewage on all RV sites - Five deluxe tent sites - One large tent site - Mooring posts available on a first come, first serve basis - Complimentary high-speed WiFi

My wife and I stayed 3 nights in our travel trailer in early June 2023. We had Site 18, which is a premium lake view site. It was an excellent, roomy site, with a beautiful view and a level parking pad (no leveling needed!). I took hikes in the park, we ate one evening at the resort restaurant, and we toured other local areas. Overall a very positive experience. One note-some of the sites, particularly as you enter the campground are not spacious but are crowded and congested. Try to get a site more toward the back of the campground.

If camping with a water view is your desire, this is the place for you. Just a few short miles off the interstate highway, ALL the campsites have a view that includes water. There are prime views, so check out the map and availability if that is important to you. Full hook ups for your rig with a few tent sites, you are across from the resort, so glampers can get to the restaurants if you don’t want to cook out that night. The restaurant has a dockside pickup if you call in your order and pull up in your craft. The marina is close by and offers boat rentals. The short walk to the resort offers electric bike rentals and for a small daily fee use of the pool and exercise facilities for up to four people.
