Introduction / Overview

Croton Township Campground is a popular camping destination located in Newaygo, Michigan, offering a variety of camping experiences for individuals, families, and groups. As a township-run facility, it aims to provide accessible outdoor recreation for local residents and visitors alike. Campgrounds typically offer designated sites for tents, RVs, and trailers, often equipped with various amenities to enhance comfort in the wilderness. While specific historical details about Croton Township Campground's founding are not widely publicized, its existence serves as a valuable resource for those looking to embrace Michigan's natural beauty. Reviews from past visitors offer varied perspectives. One reviewer highlighted the potential for a positive social experience, stating, "A wonderful place to relax and make new friends, no matter your age ❤️." This indicates a community-oriented atmosphere where connections can be forged. Conversely, another review detailed a challenging experience, citing issues with shared water hookups, parking disputes, unsupervised minors operating golf carts, and sanitation concerns in bathrooms. So I reserved a campsite with electricity and water. Come to find out when I got there I had to share water. Had this group next to my site that had 5 campers they set them up so they had this big square to themselves which didn't bother me but one of them tried to be a bully and stole one of our parking spots. Was always in our business. There were teenagers driving golf carts with teenagers hanging off the side. Like 6/7 teenagers on the cart. 14 years old at the most. Seen 7 years old driving the carts. Had 6 year old kid threatening to kill other kids. A fire in one of the bathrooms. And another one that had feces all over the walls. I was only there for four days and three nights . I or my family did not have a good time. I will never go there again.

We’re touring bicyclists that tent when we camp. This campground is one of the most pleasant we’ve visited. Nice restrooms. Great people. They don’t have primitive tent campsites but they’re regular sites work good and water, restrooms and shower always close by.

This was hands down the best camping vacation I have had in a while. It has paved roads and everyone rides their bikes, the views are spectacular, the play grounds are great, the bathrooms are nice and the showers are huge and the best showers I have ever been in at a campground. You can boat, kayak, canoe, fish and swim. The people are also very nice. Stayed 5 days this time, next time it will be for 7! Already looking forward to next year!
