For RV enthusiasts and travelers making their way through the heart of Louisiana, or for locals seeking a peaceful and amenity-rich retreat, Farr Park RV Campground in Baton Rouge offers an exceptional experience. Nestled alongside the historic Mississippi River and adjacent to the acclaimed BREC Farr Park Equestrian Center, this campground provides a unique blend of natural tranquility and convenient access to the vibrant city life of Baton Rouge. It’s a truly distinctive destination that caters to both short-term visitors and those looking for an extended stay in the Pelican State.
RV parks play a crucial role in supporting the diverse travel and leisure activities of Louisiana residents and visitors alike. They offer more than just a place to park; they provide essential services, a sense of community, and a comfortable base from which to explore the surrounding area. Farr Park RV Campground exemplifies this by not only offering top-notch facilities for RVs but also integrating with the equestrian center, providing a unique backdrop and additional activities that set it apart from typical campgrounds. This makes it particularly appealing to those who appreciate a connection to nature and a relaxed atmosphere, even within close proximity to a major metropolitan area.
The demand for RV travel and outdoor recreation continues to grow in Louisiana, as more people discover the flexibility and freedom that comes with life on the road. Whether it’s for a weekend getaway to explore local attractions, a longer family vacation, or even as a more adaptable housing solution, having reliable and well-maintained RV parks is paramount. Farr Park RV Campground meets this demand by providing spacious sites with essential hookups, ensuring that guests can enjoy all the comforts of their recreational vehicle while experiencing the best of Baton Rouge. Its established reputation and positive reviews underscore its commitment to providing a pleasant and accommodating environment for all who visit.
One of the most significant advantages of choosing a well-equipped RV park like Farr Park is the availability of full hookups. This means access to water, electricity (typically 30 and 50 amp services to accommodate various RVs), and a sewer connection directly at your site. This convenience eliminates the need for frequent trips to dump stations and allows for a truly self-sufficient and comfortable stay. For extended visits, or for those who rely on their RV as their primary dwelling, these full hookups are indispensable, making daily routines as effortless as they would be in a traditional home.
Beyond the practical amenities, the atmosphere of an RV park greatly contributes to the overall experience. Farr Park RV Campground is consistently described by guests as quiet and friendly, fostering a welcoming environment where fellow travelers and residents can feel at ease. The proximity to the equestrian center adds a unique visual appeal, with opportunities to see horses grazing in nearby pastures, creating a serene and picturesque setting. This blend of essential services, natural beauty, and a convivial atmosphere makes Farr Park RV Campground a standout choice for anyone looking to park their RV in Baton Rouge.

The campground's proximity to downtown Baton Rouge (approximately six miles) means guests are never far from the city's vibrant attractions, including the USS Kidd Battleship (currently undergoing rehabilitation), the Louisiana Art & Science Museum, the State Capitol building, and a wide array of dining and shopping options. As with many public park facilities or campgrounds, pricing can be seasonal or based on the type of site (e.g., full hookup vs. dry camping). Really sweet little campground. It’s adjacent to the equestrian center. Folks are friendly, sites are more than acceptable and they have all the services a class a RV needs in a pull through site.
Dec 19, 2024 · Tom CurtinFarr Park RV Campground is just south of Baton Rouge and is very nice and quiet. Has electric and water and a dump station.
Feb 08, 2025 · Paul MinorThis is basically a open field with electric/water hookups; nothing fancy. I enjoyed the convenient location to LSU, downtown Baton Rouge and the levee. I could see this place turning into a mudfest with a significant rain, but the roads were easy to navigate, and the spots well marked. The bathrooms were tired and kind of dirty. The place is easy to find and the staff is super friendly with great local recommendations. I would definitely stay here again for a night or two
