Can't speak more highly of this place. We have gone in the spring and summer. The fishing was good. We only had shore access. They had many types of hikes. The one around the lake is quite easy. There are others that are more advanced. Watch out for mountain bikes as they share the trail throughout the park.
Apr 02, 2025 · Katie RylkoNice place for leisurely non-paved, scenic bike ride. Very easy mountain biking if you can call it that. The hardest part is finding the trail. There are no signs. Drive towards the beach. The trail is to the left and the right of the main building by the beach. You will still have to hunt for it.
Oct 21, 2024 · Neville MistriThe lake is beautiful. The beach is clean and has a concession stand. The camp sites are nice and surrounded by trees. There is a picnic area and boat launch as well. We used our kayaks several times. There's also a trail all the way around the lake. Great place to walk and bicycle rides.
Jun 25, 2022 · Krista HastyI stayed here for 3 nights earlier this week. The sites are big with trees between the sites for privacy. The lake was so beautiful and relaxing to walk around and just stare at from camp! The shower house was clean, the water HOT and the water pressure amazing! Camp hosts were so helpful. I was camping while my 92 year old mom was at home alone. The downside was cell service. Again, we go to check out, but sometimes we need to be available. I was able to drive about 3 miles up the hill to get cell service in a parking lot at an UI Agricultural Research center. They checked on me too! I did several hikes from here, it is very centrally located to Garden of the Gods, Millstone Bluffs, Burden Falls, Lusk Creek, Sand Cave, Bell Smith Springs, Rim Rock/Pounds Hollow, Cave in Rock.
Mar 15, 2024 · hanna tieLake Glendale includes a nice lake with access for fishing, swimming, hiking, and camping near the shore. Despite the state's budget problems the area is well maintained. It is possible to circumambulate the lake on the main trail. This is a good area for observing wildflowers and birds. We have never camped there, but have driven and walked through the campground several times on birdwatching trips. There is a full-time campground host, well maintained campsites, and a heated, year-around bathroom and shower facility.
