Lakeside Haven RV Park About

Hello, fellow RV enthusiasts and Florida nature lovers! Are you searching for a serene and picturesque spot to park your RV, offering both tranquility and excellent access to Florida's natural beauty? Look no further than Lakeside Haven RV Park in Lady Lake, Florida. This promising RV park, under new ownership, aims to provide a welcoming and family-oriented environment right on the shores of Lake Griffin. It's a place where the allure of nature and the joy of great fishing converge, inviting you to enjoy each and every day amidst beautiful surroundings. In this comprehensive overview, we'll explore the key aspects of Lakeside Haven RV Park, covering its unique lakeside location, the services it offers, its natural highlights, and what makes it a potentially suitable haven for locals seeking an authentic Florida RV experience.

Lakeside Haven RV Park is ideally situated at 6808 Lake Griffin Rd, Lady Lake, FL 32159, USA. This prime location places it directly on the shores of Lake Griffin, one of Florida's beautiful and expansive chain of lakes. The immediate lakeside setting is a significant draw, offering breathtaking views, direct water access, and the promise of excellent fishing right from the park. Lady Lake itself is a charming community in Central Florida, known for its pleasant atmosphere and convenient access to a variety of amenities.

The park's accessibility is generally straightforward, being located on a county road that connects to major routes. While it provides a sense of being "away from it all" by the lake, essential services and conveniences are within a reasonable driving distance. Lady Lake offers a selection of grocery stores, local dining options, and everyday necessities. Furthermore, the proximity to larger areas and attractions in Central Florida means residents and visitors can easily venture out for more extensive shopping, entertainment, or medical needs. However, it is important for prospective residents to be aware of the immediate surroundings, as some anecdotal reports mention homeless camps nearby. For those who prioritize a direct connection with Florida's aquatic environment and the peace that comes with lakeside living, Lakeside Haven RV Park offers a unique and naturally rich setting, making it an appealing destination for RVers who enjoy the great outdoors.

Lakeside Haven RV Park offers a range of services designed to provide essential comforts and conveniences for RVers enjoying their stay by Lake Griffin. While the park has been undergoing renovations and management transitions, the aim is to offer a functional environment.

  • RV Sites with Hookups: The park provides sites equipped with power, water, and sewer connections for RVs. It's noted that while these services are included, residents do not have individual power meters, and power bills are calculated and charged by the park.
  • Bathhouse and Showers: A bathhouse with shower facilities is available for use by residents. Recent information suggests these facilities have undergone renovations.
  • Laundry Facility: A free laundry facility is provided on-site. It includes multiple washers and dryers (e.g., a 3-washer, 3-dryer set for approximately 42 sites), though availability can be impacted if machines are out of order.
  • On-Site Management/Staff: The park has on-site management and night management to assist residents. However, reviews indicate varied experiences with staff professionalism and responsiveness, with some positive mentions of a new ownership's family-oriented approach and other instances of communication challenges.
  • Pet-Friendly: The park is pet-friendly, allowing residents to bring their furry companions.
  • Camera Surveillance: Cameras are installed in various areas, including the laundry room, to enhance security. It's important for residents to be aware of how surveillance is managed, especially concerning audio recording, given Florida's two-party consent laws.
  • Basic Park Maintenance: Efforts are made to maintain the park's common areas. However, some reviews suggest that certain maintenance issues, such as street lights and pest control for mosquitoes, have been noted by residents as areas needing more consistent attention.

Lakeside Haven RV Park, with its unique location and recent changes, highlights several features that could appeal to RVers seeking a particular kind of Florida experience.

  • Lakefront Property with Fishing Access: The most significant highlight is its direct location on Lake Griffin. This provides exceptional opportunities for fishing (a key draw for many residents, as mentioned in reviews), boating, and enjoying picturesque lake views right from the park. This natural amenity is central to its appeal.
  • Family-Oriented Atmosphere: Early residents under the new ownership describe the park as "very family oriented" with "great people," indicating a community that fosters positive social interactions among its residents.
  • Enjoying Nature: For those who appreciate the outdoors, the park's natural setting by the lake offers a chance to connect with local flora and fauna, inspiring a daily appreciation for Florida's natural environment.
  • Affordable Entry (Historical): Early reservations reportedly secured competitive rates (e.g., $650 plus electric), which made it an attractive option for new residents. While rates may change, the underlying value proposition aims to be competitive for a lakeside park.
  • Security Measures: The park implements security measures, including cameras, to enhance safety for residents.
  • Free Laundry Facility: The provision of a free laundry facility is a significant convenience and a cost-saving feature for long-term residents.
  • Potential for Improvement: Given its "new ownership" status, the park has the potential for ongoing improvements and development of amenities, which can be an exciting prospect for residents who are part of its growth.

Information regarding specific, ongoing promotions or special offers from Lakeside Haven RV Park is not widely available in public reviews. However, based on the customer feedback, we can infer a few aspects related to pricing and value:

  • Introductory Rates: One review mentions an early reservation at $650 plus electric, suggesting that the park may have offered introductory or lower rates during its initial opening phases under new ownership to attract residents. It's possible similar strategies might be employed for future new sections or during off-peak seasons.
  • Passport America/Similar Discounts: There is no public information to confirm if Lakeside Haven RV Park participates in discount programs like Passport America or Good Sam. Prospective campers interested in such discounts should inquire directly with the park.
  • Monthly vs. Daily Rates: RV parks typically offer daily, weekly, and monthly rates, with longer stays generally providing a better value per night. Given the mention of residents moving in for extended periods, monthly or seasonal rates are likely a core offering.
  • Power Billing: It's important for residents to understand the power billing structure, as one review highlighted concerns about "random and unexplained power bills" and that individual meters are not present, leading to charges calculated by the park. This might be a point to clarify when discussing pricing.

For the most accurate and up-to-date information on current rates, any available specials, or the pricing structure for power, it is highly recommended to contact Lakeside Haven RV Park directly using the provided phone number or email, or to visit their official website if available.

We moved from Tennessee to Florida January 24th. We had placed our reservation in September before the park had opened last year and the pictures were showing a nice park, plenty of trees and on the lake. We caught it at 650 plus electric and had to pay a 200 deposit campground at the time was capped at 39 sites. Which was fine, we were excited. The lady we spoke to was very nice, whom of which no longer works for the park. As we spoke we had expressed that we needed shade for our camper that our AC is struggling at best. The lady said yes! We have a perfect spot for you ,when we showed up the site we had picked for us was changed last minute as per the new guy we are meeting named Mario. Unfortunately the main source of our shade would be cut down shortly after moving in, with zero compensation despite the fact we originally reserved/requested a site with ample shade. First impressions of Mario are unfortunate because he’s not professional at all. He’s a big jokester and even charming.he makes sexual jokes in nature to ALL residents. However we noticed very quickly that he would speak ill on tenants in the park, who owed what, who was getting evicted, who has cancer etc. Management is hardly seen at the property. When they are it’s always drama. The park was still under renovation when we arrived in January and they were finishing up the bath house. They do have free laundry, which to my surprise for months went by before said showers were ready. The laundry facility is a 3 washer and 3 dryer set for the entire campground. 42 sites as of today and one of the washers have been broken for months. Also I might add that each camper can have a max of 5 people. Current Night management is rude and previous night management never introduced themselves. Management tells residents to not contact the owner even when problems are not being handled appropriately. Police presence is heavy and so are the drugs. You can see the local homeless camp on side of the lake where shady characters come and go. Twacked out residents will be seen peeing on trees and causing a lot of issues. Unfortunately while there our camper was burglarized and we were threatened with eviction by Mario. There are cameras now, which I never signed a consent for and the one in the laundry room allows management to speak through the device. Florida is a two party consent state. The biggest problem in this park are the PESTS! Armadillos and if you’re out when it starts getting dark, say your prayers because the mosquitoes are going to eat you alive. Sweat pants and sweatshirts don’t stop them and you’re swatting 6 out of your face at a time. Now granted you’re on the lake, however pest control should be something that a campground regularly invest in considering the diseases mosquitoes carry. To which the residents have made suggestions on pest control and many issues and nothing has been done. They charge rent plus power, however you don’t have your own meter, so be prepared for random and unexplained power bills. Went from a decent 75/85$ bill to some how $129 with no reason as to why or how. The tenants near the bathhouse and the “office” tend to pay more due to lights being left on in respective places which doesn’t seem legal. It’s a lot of CYA on their reviews including the fact that multiple employees are the ones leaving reviews on the park. Which is conflict of interest. At the end of the day this park has a lot more problems than a “lake front” can fix. Consider your stay carefully. Update: the management has removed and blocked me off the page to deter people from knowing the truth.

I was relocating to Florida for a job and decided to buy an RV instead of renting an apartment or making a home purchase. However I did not have time or experience with anything RV related so was quite nervous. Due to time constraints, it was important that the RV be purchased and set up prior to my arrival in Florida. Mario was an absolute blessing to me. I told him my budget, requirements, and "wish list." I decided on an RV the night before my move and Mario handled everything - from making the appointment to view the camper all the way through to setting it up, showing me the essential things to know about it, and handing me the title and keys. The support has not ended there - he's either directly helped me or pointed me in the direction of someone who could help whenever it was asked. I was worried before moving, as I don't know anyone here and thought I'd be completely alone and what would happen if a septic line broke loose or something (true story - it happened)... and if I'd ended up in a different park, I might have had no one to call for help. But here? I'm not alone. I'm very grateful that I was drawn to this place, as I have found some of the best people around. Thank you. Oh yes, and the views are GORGEOUS!!!!
