For New York residents, especially those living in the hustle of the metropolitan areas or even the more populated Upstate regions, escaping to the quiet, vast beauty of the North Country is the ultimate summer dream. Tucked away on a sprawling 110 acres in the peaceful town of Mooers Forks, Lazy Days RV Park is more than just a place to park your rig—it's a designated summer residence and a haven for families seeking the friendly, relaxing, and community-driven atmosphere that defines the best of New York camping.
Lazy Days RV Park, managed by the dedicated and welcoming Lafond family (Jason, Marie-Pierre, and their children), has cultivated a reputation as a 'family and friends' kind of place. It’s a retreat that understands the importance of unplugging and spending quality time together. The campground proudly serves both daily guests and a vibrant community of seasonal residents, creating a loyal clientele who consider this RV park their second home. Here, the focus is less on transient travel and more on building a lifetime of unforgettable memories right in the scenic Adirondack Coast region.
The core mission of the Lafond family is simple: to provide the most enjoyable summer residence in the North Country. They emphasize making the park fun and respectful for everyone, ensuring a safe, engaging, and friendly environment where kids and adults alike can make the most of the beautiful New York summer.
Lazy Days RV Park is a substantial, family-oriented campsite spanning 110 acres in Clinton County, New York. It is primarily known for its extensive network of seasonal sites, which contribute to a deep sense of camaraderie and community among its residents. While they welcome daily and short-term guests, the park's heart lies in its full-time summer community. The owners, the Lafond family, are actively involved in the day-to-day operations, ensuring a high level of service and a continuous schedule of family-friendly activities throughout the season.
The park's large size allows it to offer a wide variety of amenities and recreational spaces, from two swimming pools to various organized sports leagues and a recreation hall. It’s an ideal spot for those who want a true destination campground where the fun is centered right where you set up camp. Visitors can expect a quiet, respectful atmosphere, with park rules clearly defined to ensure the enjoyment and safety of all families.
Located at 111 Lazy Days Ln, Mooers Forks, NY 12959, Lazy Days RV Park is situated in the northernmost section of New York’s Upstate region, often referred to as the North Country or the Adirondack Coast. This location is strategically appealing for New Yorkers who want access to major natural landmarks without the crowded, deep-woods feeling of the central Adirondack Park.
Mooers Forks is in Clinton County, a short distance from the Canadian border and easily accessible from the I-87 corridor, making it convenient for those driving up from Albany (roughly a three-hour drive) or other points in Eastern New York. The proximity to Plattsburgh, a larger city with shopping, dining, and healthcare facilities, ensures that all necessities are within a reasonable drive.
Crucially, the park is a fantastic base for exploring the region’s natural treasures. It’s minutes away from the shores of Lake Champlain, offering opportunities for boating, fishing, and enjoying state parks like Cumberland Bay. It also serves as the northern gateway to the vast trail systems and scenic drives of the Adirondack Park. While the surrounding area offers that desirable feeling of rural seclusion, it is important for prospective guests to note that connectivity can be challenging. Cell service (like AT&T) may be weak, and Wi-Fi access is often limited to a hotspot near the office or common buildings, a common characteristic of deep North Country parks, encouraging a truly ‘unplugged’ vacation.
Lazy Days RV Park is set up to cater primarily to RV and camper users, including a large seasonal population, providing a comprehensive set of facilities to ensure comfort during long stays. Available services include:
The best features of Lazy Days RV Park revolve around its dedication to family fun and community engagement, transforming a simple stay into a fully featured resort experience.

For New York families, especially those looking for a consistent, high-quality summer base, Lazy Days RV Park offers a compelling and unique value proposition. It’s strategically located in the North Country, providing a perfect balance between remote, natural beauty—with the Adirondack Park and Lake Champlain just a short drive away—and an extensive list of on-site amenities. Unlike parks that cater only to fleeting overnight stops, Lazy Days excels as a destination for extended stays, fostering a strong, welcoming seasonal community that truly makes campers feel at home.
The commitment of the Lafond family to creating a safe, fun, and respectful environment is the park's biggest asset, transforming a camping trip into an annual tradition. While visitors should prepare for the reality of limited cell service and central Wi-Fi, a common trait of beautiful, secluded New York wilderness spots, this intentional detachment only serves to enhance the vacation experience. It encourages families to put down their devices and take advantage of the two pools, the R/C track, and the friendly, community-led activities. For New Yorkers looking to plant roots for the summer and embrace a fun, family-focused lifestyle in the magnificent North Country, Lazy Days RV Park is an unparalleled choice for a truly laid-back summer.

Jan 22, 2024 · Larry BrownOh my. This place is full of full time seasonal campground. The only way to get Wi-Fi is to go to the office. I had wifi booster and still couldn’t connect to it. Cell zone AT&T was very weak. One bar. No i wouldn’t stay here again. The owner was really nice!
Sep 28, 2018 · Melissa MuncriefIt is a great place to stay if you are liked by the "in crowd" of the owners. If not, you are harassed and constantly in trouble for things you didn't do, but that is only by the husband. Not personable and seems to feel he is better than everyone. He also thinks he can simply say whatever he wants because he is the owner, but nobody is above others simply because you own it. Everyone should still be treated with respect, when respect is given to you. He will yell at you and use profanity if you are drinking an adult beverage while using your golf cart, as he drives around on his golf cart with a beer in hand. And then eventually you aren't welcomed back with no explanation. And if you try asking, he will be extremely rude, not answer, and try to assert his dominance. Hopefully he's nicer to his wife, I'd hate to assume he is like this to all woman. But my own personal experience is all I can speak for. BUT if you make families feel uncomfortable because of how you act around their kids, you can stay. Even with multiple complaints and concerns for your child's safety. But hey, maybe it will change one day. ✌🏻
Oct 20, 2024 · Alyssa RabideauI've been coming to lazy days since I was a kid, and now my little girl gets to enjoy this great getaway. Would recommend this campsite to any family's in the USA and Canada that are looking for a new place to camp
Sep 24, 2017 · Heather greenoI came to Mooers Forks, NY in July 2018 for what was supposed to be a four month construction job. It's now May 2019 and I'm still here, having endured a brutal, constantly sub zero winter, in a travel trailer with my dog. It was a enjoyable, challenging, unforgettable experience that would not have been possible without Lazy Days Campsites and the awesome owners who accommodated all my request no matter how strange. Finally spring is here, the park is open, and the campers are returning. Each day we enjoy walking the many ATV trails that pass down by the pond and encircle the perimeter of the park. Camping fees here are incredibly reasonable. There's a great pool, Volleyball, playground and more. The public bathrooms and laundry room are always tidy. There's a spectacularly fun RC car racetrack on site so bring your RC car or buy one of the many Traxxas trucks they have in the shop. Many great events throughout the season to meet your neighbors and entertain the kids. The park owners are constantly improving the property and are an absolute joy to work with. Feels like family. If this construction job ever comes to a close and I get to return to my state of residence it will be bittersweet. Lazy Days Campsites has begun to feel like home. #sonnydingdongs
