Introduction / Overview
For New York residents with an RV or travel trailer, finding the ideal blend of convenient full hookup services and genuine, restorative peace can be a challenge. MorningStar RV Park, located just outside the historic city of Corning in the Southern Tier, offers a perfect solution. This destination is widely celebrated by local users for being a "no frills" park in the absolute best sense—a quiet, small-scale alternative to the larger, activity-packed resorts that often sacrifice tranquility for amenities. The core mission of MorningStar is simple: to provide a clean, secure, and supremely quiet place to park your home-on-wheels while you explore the stunning Finger Lakes region.
MorningStar RV Park is situated at the base of a significant natural hill, which affords campers a backdrop of beautiful, undeveloped woodlands and the benefit of extensive nature trails right on the property. It’s an ideal choice for the adult traveler, the couple seeking a quiet retreat, or the family whose primary activity is exploration rather than organized park entertainment. Its reputation is built on well-spaced, level sites, meticulous cleanliness, and the famously helpful attitude of the owners, making it a reliable and highly recommended spot for local RV enthusiasts traversing New York State.
Location and Accessibility
MorningStar RV Park is ideally located at 11924 Townley Hill Rd, Corning, NY 14830, USA. This location places it in the perfect position for local users wanting to explore a vast and vibrant section of the state, including the historical, cultural, and natural highlights of the Southern Finger Lakes.
The RV park is just a short, scenic drive from downtown Corning, famously known as the home of the world-renowned Corning Museum of Glass and the charming, walkable Gaffer District. This means high-quality dining, shopping, and unique museums are less than fifteen minutes away. Moreover, MorningStar acts as an excellent hub for major regional attractions: the spectacular gorges and waterfalls of Watkins Glen State Park, the picturesque wineries of the Seneca Lake Wine Trail, and other natural wonders are all within a 30-to-45-minute drive. Despite this close proximity to major tourist sites, the park's specific location on Townley Hill Road provides a buffer of distance and elevation that ensures a quiet, rural atmosphere, making arrival and daily commuting easy for New York travelers using major regional highways.

MorningStar RV Park focuses on delivering essential, high-quality services designed to make an RV stay comfortable, secure, and hassle-free. Quiet, well spaced sites, at the base of a 300 acre hill with nature trails that had a 350ft change of elevation for those priceless cardiac points. Deer, porcupine, groundhogs. The site was level to a half inch already, and included a grill and picnic table. Also included darker Bortle 3-4 skies for sitting out and star gazing. Finally, the owner couldn't be nicer.
May 10, 2022 · doug haseltineGreat little campground for people who like peace and quiet. This place is no frills in the best way possible. No pool, activities, and pavilion means no noise. There were a few kids there, but they were quiet because they were on their campsite having fun not running around the site. There is one shower, but it's clean! I never had to wait on the bathroom or shower. The bathrooms were also clean and critter free. We have a Casita with a short electric hookup (15 feet) so spot 11 was a bit of a challenge for us. It was impossible to be level without some "help". The owner of the campground came to visit and saw were were struggling to stabilize the trailer. He ran home got some wood planks and helped us re-park the camper. The fire pits are awesome. They have a little grill top that swings over the fire. It's also great to warm up your chocolate and gram cracker while you are toasting marshmallows. Spot 1& 2 are completely shaded and have some trees to hook a hammock to. Spot 11 had no shade, but it also had no neighbors behind us. If I am in the area again, this is where I will be staying.

May 02, 2025 · Anthony QuattriniLove this place. 3 years now I've done at least one trip with them and my family and I love it. It's quiet and you don't have all the ridiculousness that comes with big camp grounds like the KOA nearby. You also have full hookup which is part of my camping preference(not for everyone). When I go camping it's more to get away and not have to deal with all the craziness of the world. This camp ground is just that. I'll keep booking sites here as the years go on. The trails nearby are also fun and relaxing. There is a train that goes by just couple times every 24 hours but it's not persistent by any means they're short trains which don't disrupt you much. Highly recommend this place. Can't say it enough. And the owners are very nice and welcoming while allowing you your privacy. If you want to be away from a ton of people and the highly energetic crowd of the big campground then this place won't disappoint!
Jul 13, 2021 · Andy CarterThis park is beautifully quiet and peaceful, feels very remote, very flat site where we didn't even have to level at all. We hiked on logging roads/paths on a huge hillside of big trees, pines and nice shade. The hiking trail starts right at the campground area. Very friendly staff and seasonals. We would suggest this to people who want a quiet camping experience.
