Introduction / Overview
Mystic Valley Campground, nestled in the quaint town of Carmel, Maine, offers a serene and welcoming retreat that has quickly become a favorite among local and traveling campers. Far more than just a place to park an RV or pitch a tent, this campground is celebrated for its genuine community spirit, pristine environment, and owners who consistently go above and beyond for their guests. It truly embodies the authentic, friendly hospitality for which Maine is renowned.
The philosophy at Mystic Valley is centered on the power of nature to bring people together, offering a comfortable space where families and friends can disconnect from their busy lives and reconnect with each other and the beauty of the natural world. This commitment to guest satisfaction is evident in the enthusiastic reviews from real customers. Many have praised the owners for being "incredibly accommodating," even going so far as to deliver firewood directly to sites. The campground is clean, quiet, and well-maintained, creating a peaceful atmosphere.
The community engagement at Mystic Valley is a significant draw for local Mainers. A standout example is the annual Fourth of July celebration, where the owners organized a potluck dinner for guests and hosted a full, complimentary fireworks extravaganza that was so impressive it drew in the local community from Facebook. Experiences like this highlight the campground’s dedication to creating memorable, value-driven, and truly neighborly events. Whether you are looking for a last-minute site due to unforeseen car troubles and need compassionate understanding, or planning a week-long family vacation, Mystic Valley Campground promises a 12/10 experience.

The park is easily accessible, located just two miles off Exit 174 on Interstate 95. 12/10 experience. We extended our stay here an extra night because of how great our time was. They put on an entire firework extravaganza for all the guests and even invited the local community on Facebook, all for FREE. They organized a pot luck dinner for guests before the show. The fireworks were amazing. The owners were incredibly accommodating and even delivered firewood anytime asked. Such great people. A Happy 4th indeed. We can’t wait to come back!
Jul 06, 2025 · max blanckThe owner was very welcoming when we pulled in looking for a last minute site due to car troubles and was very understanding and accommodating when we said we don’t know how long it will take to fix our car. She gave us suggestions for finding food and offered, if we needed, to help us get to the grocery store. Nice, quiet, clean, small campground.
Aug 04, 2025 · Marsha RobinsonWhat a little treasure! Overnight stop on the way to Nova Scotia that just happened to be on the 4th of July. Got a real taste of the local flare. Campground hosted a pot luck and neighbor across the street put on annual fireworks extravaganza! Campground itself is lovely and well maintained, owned by a lovely local.
Jul 05, 2024 · rebecca LorenzenRented the RV NOT GOOD!! Not clean and smelled Sue was not very nice very lazy asked if she had a toaster said NO ( which I seen one in the back ) no fire pit witch said it came w/ one TV didn't work radio didn't work no smoke alarm With a little bit of effort the RV could be very inviting Wouldn't even give us a tomato from here garden 🙄 WONT BE BACK THERE!!
Sep 15, 2025 · Dena LevyWe tent camped here in August and had a great experience! The tent sites are tucked away in their own little corner of the campground near a small pond. Even though the website lists five of these sites, there only seem to be three spots with a picnic table and fire ring, but we were the only ones in this area, so we had the puck of wherever we wanted to camp. It seems like the campground is not too frequented by tent campers, so it seems like there's a good chance that you'll have the whole section of the campground to yourself. There's a camp store stocked with all the necessities you might need, and the woman at the counter was very nice.
