The ideal RV park provides a blend of convenience, comfort, and a welcoming atmosphere. Overland RV Park is situated to offer easy access to local amenities, which is a key consideration for many RVers. RV parks are a vital part of the travel infrastructure for those who embrace the RV lifestyle, providing necessary services like water, electricity, and sewer connections. They cater to a diverse range of travelers, from full-time RVers to vacationers on a weekend getaway. The convenience of being able to pull in, hook up, and settle down quickly is often paramount. Overland RV Park's location in Van Buren suggests it could be a practical choice for those who value proximity to city services and major roadways. However, as with any travel accommodation, understanding the complete picture of what to expect is crucial for a positive experience. This overview aims to provide factual details about Overland RV Park based on publicly available information, tempered with insights from recent customer experiences, allowing prospective visitors from Arkansas to make an informed decision for their travel needs.

Overland RV Park is located at 1716 1/2 Fayetteville Rd, Van Buren, AR 72956, USA. This address places it within the city limits of Van Buren, a historic and bustling community in Crawford County, Arkansas. Van Buren is strategically positioned along Interstate 40, a major east-west thoroughfare, making the RV park's location highly convenient for travelers traversing the state or the wider region. Fayetteville Road itself is a significant arterial road in Van Buren, ensuring straightforward access to the park from various directions.

The key strength of Overland RV Park's location lies in its exceptional accessibility. Its proximity to Interstate 40 is a major draw for RVers looking for an easy on-and-off point. Beyond interstate access, the park's placement on Fayetteville Road means it is conveniently close to a wealth of local amenities. Within a short drive, visitors can find numerous stores for groceries and supplies, a variety of restaurants catering to different tastes, and other essential services that make a temporary stay more comfortable. This ease of access to city conveniences is often a critical factor for RVers who need to restock, refuel, or simply enjoy a meal out after a long day of travel. While the park is situated for convenience, potential visitors should be aware of the immediate surroundings and ensure it aligns with their preferences for a peaceful or quiet stay. Based on the provided information and the nature of an RV park, Overland RV Park offers essential services primarily focused on providing basic hookups for recreational vehicles. While the provided reviews indicate discrepancies between advertised and actual amenities, typical services expected and potentially offered at Overland RV Park include:

  • Full Hookups: This generally includes water, sewer, and electrical connections (typically 30 and/or 50 amp service) at each site, which are fundamental for RV camping.
  • Campsite Space: Designated individual sites for RV parking, offering a place to set up your vehicle.
  • Restroom Facilities: Historically, RV parks provide access to restrooms with flush toilets. However, recent customer feedback suggests a concern regarding the availability and stocking of supplies in these facilities.
  • Shower Facilities: Complementing restrooms, shower facilities are typically offered for campers. Again, recent customer reviews indicate potential issues with the condition or accessibility of these showers (e.g., lack of hot water, inadequate privacy, or cleanliness concerns).
  • WiFi Access: While typically advertised as an amenity, recent customer reviews highlight significant issues with the quality and reliability of Wi-Fi service at the park, with some stating it is "the worst."
  • Cable TV: Also often advertised, recent customer feedback suggests that cable TV service may not be available despite claims.
  • Dumpster Access: Facilities for trash disposal are a standard service at RV parks to maintain cleanliness.

It is crucial for prospective visitors to verify the current availability and condition of these services directly with the park management, especially in light of the customer reviews indicating a significant discrepancy between advertised amenities and actual provision.

Based on the available information, including customer feedback, the primary features and highlights of Overland RV Park can be summarized as follows:

  • Convenient Location: The most consistently highlighted positive feature is its extremely convenient location. Situated close to major stores, various restaurants, and having easy access to the interstate, it offers practical advantages for RVers needing to resupply or break up a long journey.
  • Basic Hookups: The park provides the fundamental full hookups (water, sewer, electric) necessary for RVs to operate, allowing for basic overnight or short-term stays.

However, it is equally important to acknowledge the significant concerns raised in recent customer reviews, which impact the overall experience and should be considered as features or, more accurately, areas of concern:

  • Questionable Management and Environment: Multiple reviews strongly suggest issues with park management, describing them as "rude," "disrespectful," and even having a "violent nature." Concerns about a "hostile environment" and "criminal activity" are also raised, which are serious considerations for any traveler.
  • Poor WiFi Service: Despite being advertised, customers report the Wi-Fi connectivity as being "the worst," indicating unreliability or non-existent service.
  • Lack of Cable TV: Similarly, cable TV is advertised but reportedly not available, leading to disappointment for guests expecting this amenity.
  • Inadequate Restroom/Shower Maintenance: Feedback indicates that supplies are not consistently kept in the bathrooms and showers, and facilities may be small or not adequately maintained, affecting cleanliness and comfort.
  • No Privacy at Sites: One review mentions that "No sites have any privacy," which can be a significant drawback for campers seeking a more secluded or personal experience.
  • Aggressive Animals/Unsafe Feeling: Concerns about "aggressive animals" and feeling "unsafe" (especially for solo travelers or families) due to the overall environment are noted, which directly contradicts the expectation of a secure camping location.
  • Varying and Rising Rates: Comments suggest that pricing might be inconsistent and on the rise, potentially varying depending on the individual, leading to a lack of transparency in pricing.

Given these significant concerns, potential visitors are strongly advised to proceed with caution and verify current conditions before committing to a stay.

Information regarding specific promotions or special offers at Overland RV Park is not publicly detailed. RV parks often have fluctuating rates based on season, length of stay (daily, weekly, monthly), and type of hookup. Given the customer feedback suggesting that "rates at this site are on the rise, so no telling what they could be, it will vary depending who you are," it is particularly important for prospective visitors to inquire directly about current pricing and any available discounts before making a reservation or arriving at the park. There is no indication of consistent promotional deals or loyalty programs. For the most accurate and up-to-date information on rates and any potential offers, direct contact with Overland RV Park management is essential.

For inquiries about availability, rates, or to address any concerns you may have before a stay at Overland RV Park, please use the following contact information:

Given the serious concerns raised in recent customer reviews regarding management, safety, and the condition of amenities, it is highly recommended to call the park directly to discuss any questions you have. It would be prudent to inquire specifically about the current state of the facilities, the availability and reliability of advertised amenities like Wi-Fi and cable, and the overall environment of the park before planning your visit.

For locals in Arkansas who own an RV, choosing a park for a short stopover or a temporary base is a common consideration. Overland RV Park's location in Van Buren undeniably offers a highly convenient point of access to major interstate routes and local amenities like stores and restaurants. For those who prioritize pure accessibility and require only very basic hookups for a brief stay, and are willing to potentially overlook the significant concerns raised by previous visitors, it might serve as a functional overnight stop. However, based on the numerous and serious negative reviews from recent customers, it is crucial for Arkansas locals to exercise extreme caution and conduct thorough due diligence before considering this RV park, especially if traveling with family or seeking a comfortable, secure, and amenity-rich experience. The reported issues regarding management behavior, lack of advertised amenities, poor maintenance, and safety concerns are substantial and directly impact the suitability of the park for a pleasant and worry-free stay. While convenience is a valuable asset, it must be weighed against these significant potential drawbacks. For many Arkansans, the reported environment and service levels may not align with the expectations for a relaxing or safe RV experience.

If you're willing to overlook criminal activity, poor service, and faulty spots for a convenient location then this might be an ok rv park. Poor wifi to make up for hostile environment and aggressive animals. Was verbally assaulted by some hippies that live near the dumpsters after I wouldn't buy his jewelry. Stayed one night and I wouldn't stay another hour there even if I was paid.

Very convenient location that is close to stores, restaurants and interstate. The rates at this site are on the rise, so no telling what they could be, it will vary depending who you are. The guys that the new owners have running the place treat people who stay here with disrespect, they are rude and are known to be of violent nature to anybody. They do not keep supplies to the bathrooms and showers, do not have the amenities they claim to have. Its basic hookups and nothing else. This RV park was taken over by a bunch of criminals that pretend to business like. This place was nice and conveinent until the new people took over. Stay here at your own risk. There was suppose to be wifi, cable and such amenities at this site. i have been here a while and can say there has never been cable and the wifi is the worst i know of. This is not the place to stop with your family

The owner was very nice, the cost very affordable and accommodates if you're passing through and have no other choice. However, this is a long term tenant park, and if rv parks allow long term tenants they should have rules on the "upkeep of the park". Some of the rvs are so old they don't look liveable, the park was cluttered and messy, dog feces on ground next to where we parked, trash dumpsters full and overflowing. The owner needs to take pride and clean it up, have park rules and make then abide by them.

I lived here for the summer, I never had a issue with anyone, in fact ppl were very sweet that are longer term. I loved the staff who were more than accommodating and it is with in walking distance to good restaurants and stores. I'd camp here again absolutely. They have showers brand new wash machines and dryers a big area to walk around only draw back was no shade you just roll out your awning and you will be fine. The price is right too.

My family and I have lived here for almost 3 years now. It was a nice place when we came....but the park is a little run down now and in need of repairs. The washers and dryers do not get your clothes clean or dry. If you have kids you might want to look for another park. There is nothing for them to do outside and they don't seem to like kids outside playing.
