Introduction / Overview: A Community Treasure on Crystal Lake
Nestled on the serene outskirts of Barton Village in Vermont's beautiful Northeast Kingdom, Pageant Park offers a unique and highly accessible lakeside retreat. Named after a spectacular town celebration held nearly a century ago, this location is more than just a public space—it’s a piece of local history and a true community amenity. Unlike the larger, more bustling state parks, Pageant Park maintains a quaint, small-town atmosphere, serving both as a public beach and a modest campground.
Managed by Barton Village, the park provides an excellent, budget-friendly option for Vermonters looking to enjoy the great outdoors. It is particularly valued as a quieter alternative to Crystal Lake State Park, offering both day-use facilities like picnic areas and a dedicated number of campsites for overnight stays. Nice view and scenery, but unfortunately no swimming allowed. And the park seemed deserted. But it is still a nice place to bring the kids to play or have a piknik!🙂🙃
