Location and Accessibility

Southern Trails Campground is conveniently located at 4866 Holmes Valley Rd, Vernon, FL 32462, USA. Vernon is a small, quiet town situated in Washington County, in the western part of the Florida Panhandle. This location offers a peaceful, rural setting, providing a welcome respite from the busier tourist areas, while still being easily accessible for travelers.

The campground’s address on Holmes Valley Road places it within reach of major routes, ensuring relatively easy navigation for RVers and campers. While Vernon itself is a smaller community, it serves as a central point for exploring the surrounding natural beauty of Northwest Florida. Its proximity allows for convenient day trips to some of Florida's most cherished natural attractions. For instance, the famous crystal-clear waters of Vortex Springs, Ponce de Leon Springs, and Morrison Springs are all within a reasonable driving distance, offering opportunities for swimming, snorkeling, and diving. Falling Waters State Park, home to Florida's highest waterfall, is also nearby, providing unique hiking trails and scenic views.

The peaceful, off-the-beaten-path feel of the location, combined with its accessibility to natural wonders and local conveniences in towns like Chipley and Bonifay, makes Southern Trails Campground an attractive destination for those looking to immerse themselves in Florida's outdoors without being too far from necessities. As one reviewer noted, it's "very quiet and peaceful and well kept," emphasizing the serene setting despite its practical location.

This personal touch creates an incredibly welcoming atmosphere.
  • Reasonable Rates: Guests appreciate that "The rates are very reasonable," making it an accessible and budget-friendly option for both short-term and potentially longer-term stays.

Words cannot express how much of a godsend this rv park is. The rates are very reasonable. It has great amenities. If you have dogs, there’s a nice little dog park on the property. But the true spirit of it is the owner, Mrs Sue and her husband. They took such good care of us because we broke down not far from the park. It’s very quiet and peaceful and well kept.

The people are great, super friendly and the grounds are relaxed and inviting. The only downfall, there is no pool! I have never noticed a river, lake or even a pond, either.
