Conclusion: Why this place is suitable for locals

For South Dakotans, particularly those in the Vermillion area and Clay County, Suburban Mobile Home Park represents a particular housing option that might be suitable depending on individual priorities and circumstances.

Firstly, its primary appeal for locals often lies in its potential to offer a more affordable path to homeownership compared to traditional housing in Vermillion. For individuals or families seeking a budget-conscious living solution, manufactured homes within a park setting can be a viable alternative. This can be particularly relevant for those connected to the University of South Dakota, including students, faculty, or staff, seeking housing within the city.

Secondly, the park's location at 833 E Duke St provides good accessibility to Vermillion's key amenities. Residents benefit from being close to local grocery stores, dining options, retail, and essential services. This urban proximity means less time commuting for daily needs and easier integration into the local community life. For those who prioritize convenience to city resources, this location is a definite advantage.

However, it is crucial for prospective residents to consider the feedback from current and past customers, which highlights challenges with management communication, inconsistent rule enforcement, and issues with unsupervised children and pet control. While the presence of a park implies a recreational area, the reviews suggest a lack of amenities for children, and potential noise issues.

Therefore, while Suburban Mobile Home Park offers an affordable housing option and a convenient location in Vermillion, locals considering this park should thoroughly investigate these reported concerns. Direct communication with management, speaking with current residents if possible, and a visit to observe the park's condition and environment are highly recommended. For those who are comfortable with the known conditions and whose primary needs are met by the location and affordability, it remains a housing choice within the Vermillion landscape. Ultimately, suitability will depend on aligning the park's realities with individual expectations for a home and community environment.

This is a bummer.. Moved here last year. My emails are ignored my voicemails are ignored. random kids running through my yard and playing with toys in my front yard and near my vehicle even while I’m outside. Me and my wife can’t enjoy spending time in our own yard when other parents kids want to throw a football into it. There is a park but the parents won’t do anything to make the kids play there. There is like 4 different stray cats that come up onto my porch someone is feeding them to keep them around. I know I don’t pay this much in lot rent for this I do wish I knew before I purchased my home. I cannot recommend renting or buying in this park at all. If my emails and voicemails were not ignored this review possibly would be different. I work from 6 to 5 in the afternoon and the office seems to be closed at every time I could possibly get there. Also they mow super late at night till 9pm

Constantly changing management, a lack of communication, and inconsistent rule enforcement. Some guy has his kids in the street constantly unsupervised. Like 4 year olds. Some people's yards are a mess and nothing is said to them. Some people put a chair in their yard and management threatens fines.

Moved here almost 2 years ago from the east coast never living in a “trailer park”. My best friend had a place in this park so we moved for a better life. I didn’t know what to expect. To my surprise, I was impressed by how nice it is. It’s a wonderful community. We have been renting but it’s so nice, we’re buying our own place in here. I like how the kids run around because there’s no fear from parents because it’s nice here. The people also keep to themselves and there is never much commotion. Natasha (park manager) has been helpful with anything I have to ask and the buying process. I’m happy to have my family here.

Hi, I'm Bill, the Maintenance guy for Suburban. More importantly, I live here, and love it! I bought a new home here because I couldn't pass up the deal and the options that a mobile home afforded. Since I started working a little over a year ago, I've also been blessed to get to know so many great neighbors. It's been a delight working with Natasha, our Community Manager. We both live in Suburban and our goal is to make this more a home than just a job! Even when tough actions have to be taken, she strives to do so with respect, decency and discretion.

I moved in here about 4 months ago after not being able to find a place that I truly loved and that allowed my pets. The people in this community are always willing to help each other out, the staff and maintenance guy know everyone by name, and are always able to give a timely response. This community is very welcoming and friendly for everyone. I was a little weary of the basic stereotypes of a "trailer park", but I can say this community has left me with no sense of any of those, making it a happy, peaceful, and safe place to be.
