Horrible experience. We have been camping here for years. Since the sale to SunOutdoors we’ve had nothing but trouble. We rented a park model for a weekend stay. There was a Spring Break promotion which was stated to include a golf cart. We were informed that they were waiting for golf carts to return and they may not have one for us on arrival and it was agreed upon that we could pick up the following morning. When we went to get the golf cart- it was stated that they didn’t have one for us despite the promo to “include it”. After some discussion, miraculously one became available. Fast forward to our trip to the pool. No pool towels. Informed we need to BUY THEM or bring from our cabin. So we brought from the cabin. We then did not have enough for our family of 4 to shower. Call to the front desk and we’re told that for a two night stay you are only allotted 4 towels. FOUR! We were finally able to contact a very kind lady- Beth- who was sincere and helpful in bringing towels. Only to find that once we were ready to shower there was NO HOT WATER. NONE. Another call to the front and we were told that maintenance went home and to “go to the bath house”. >$500 for a two night stay in a cabin to have our own space and were sent to a bath house. This property should be ashamed of the way they run this business. Complete disappointment. Besides Beth, she’s great. The cabin was also very outdated.
Mar 23, 2025 · Amanda TezykThe resort was great. We had our RV and a good size site! Lots to do for the kids, went to the pool a lot and rented a golf cart a few times which the kids loved! Only thing I wish was different was more playgrounds in different parts of the park, also the smell near the pool was wild. Felt like I had my head stuffed in a the septic tank. We visited a lot of locations around Sarasota including siesta keys, Venice, Clearwater and more! Great central location for plenty more to do outside of the resort.
Apr 29, 2025 · Michael RGreat place to stay. Company owned park models are great. If you have an issue they have their own maintenance crew to fix any issues promptly. Very friendly staff. They make you feel welcomed. Renting from a private owner is at you own risk. Owners don't respond very quickly. You get what you pay for when you rent from Sun Outdoors.
Feb 12, 2025 · Johnathan RogersFantastic amenities. We felt for the higher than average nightly cost our site should have had more gravel mixed in with the sand - paved or concrete would have been best. 4-wheel drive was Needed to park our 37' (8+ ton) 5th wheel in the soft sand.
Mar 08, 2025 · Michael ShafferWe've been coming here every Memorial Day weekend for the last 7 years or so. Last year was a nightmare. The staff at the bar was rude, they screwed up our reservations and cabins so we were on a different loop than we'd always been on. Thought we'd give it another try this year and give the Sun Outdoor changes a chance to set in. I should have saved $600 and gone somewhere else. We booked three sites IN JANUARY! Get here to be told that we are now in a cabin on the other side of the loop and one of the cabins we reserved was given to someone else. Rather annoying that now we're away from our group, considering we booked so far in advanced. Arrival was scheduled for 3:00 and it said check in was 4:00. Arrived a few minutes before 4. Was told we'd need to wait because the cabin wasn't ready. So we waited the half hour at one of our groups cabin, in which we saw no one come to our cabin to prep it. Finally went back to the front desk at 4:30. The lady Vicky at the front was very rude to a hearing impaired girl trying to pay for a water and a souvenir. She looked at her like she was stupid and kept asking her what she was saying, even though every customer in line behind her knew exactly what she was saying. After that embarrassing moment for that girl we asked if they had an idea when our cabin would be ready, and magically the cabin had been cleaned and was ready, even though NO ONE had been there 😂... We finally get into the cabin and the first thing we find is roaches in the fridge. Honestly, I've never seen things this bad here before. This will be our last trip here to find a different place to spend our coin.
