Tennessee Cumberland Plateau Campground About

For Airstream owners in Tennessee and beyond, the Tennessee Cumberland Plateau Campground (TCPC) presents a truly unique and appealing destination. Nestled on the beautiful Cumberland Plateau in Pikeville, TN, TCPC is an exclusive Airstream-only campground, designed specifically for enthusiasts of these iconic travel trailers and motorhomes. This special focus creates a distinctive community atmosphere, where like-minded individuals can relax, explore nature, and share in the camaraderie of Airstream ownership.

TCPC is more than just a place to park your RV; it's a meticulously developed property spanning 354 acres of diverse terrain. Visitors consistently praise the campground for its "fantastic" environment, "friendly folks," and "beautiful scenery." It offers a wonderful opportunity to truly unwind and immerse yourself in the natural beauty of the Tennessee highlands, whether you're staying for a few nights as a guest or considering a more permanent membership.

Established in 1973 as a non-profit corporation for the exclusive benefit of Airstream owners, TCPC has a rich history rooted in a shared passion for the Airstream lifestyle. This commitment to its niche community ensures that the facilities and activities are tailored to enhance the experience for Airstreamers. From wonderfully developed trail systems to impressive communal facilities, every aspect is designed to support a relaxing and engaging stay.

While TCPC primarily operates as a member-owned park, it graciously extends its hospitality to non-member Airstream owners through reservable visitor sites. This allows a broader range of Airstream enthusiasts to experience the tranquility and unique offerings of the campground. The focus on an Airstream-only environment fosters a welcoming atmosphere where guests feel a sense of belonging and can readily connect with fellow travelers who share their love for these distinctive recreational vehicles.

However, prospective members should be aware that while the park generally receives glowing reviews for its amenities and welcoming members, there have been isolated reports of challenging experiences during the membership application process, specifically concerning communication with the membership director. It's important to approach the membership inquiry with clear communication and direct engagement. Despite these individual experiences, the overall sentiment regarding the park itself and its friendly community remains overwhelmingly positive, highlighting it as a desirable destination for Airstream owners looking for a genuine camping experience in Tennessee.

Location and Accessibility

The Tennessee Cumberland Plateau Campground (TCPC) is located at 13 Airstream Dr, Pikeville, TN 37367, USA. This address places it high on the beautiful Cumberland Plateau, offering a serene and elevated setting at approximately 2000 feet, which often provides cooler summer breezes – a welcome relief during Tennessee's warmer months. While the official address is in Pikeville, the campground is often associated with being just south of Crossville, TN, known as the "golf capital of Tennessee."

The location on the Cumberland Plateau ensures stunning natural beauty, with 354 acres of diverse terrain for guests to explore. Its elevated position contributes to a peaceful and secluded atmosphere, ideal for those seeking a tranquil escape from more populated areas. Despite its seemingly remote feel, TCPC is quite accessible for Airstream owners traveling through Tennessee.

Guests should note that while many GPS systems will direct you to the campground, the official TCPC website advises against relying solely on GPS, as some systems might lead travelers down winding, narrow gravel roads. Instead, it's recommended to follow the specific directions provided on the campground's website to ensure a smoother and more direct route. The internal roads within the park are paved, ensuring easy navigation for Airstream units once inside.

The campground's strategic location also places it within reasonable driving distance of several popular Tennessee attractions. Nearby Crossville offers dining, shopping, and cultural experiences, including the Cumberland Mountain State Park and the Cumberland County Playhouse. For those interested in day trips, major cities like Chattanooga, Nashville, and Knoxville are within a few hours' drive. Furthermore, iconic natural destinations such as Fall Creek Falls State Park, Rock Island State Park, and even the Great Smoky Mountains National Park are accessible for day excursions, making TCPC an excellent base for exploring the diverse landscapes and attractions of the Volunteer State.

The blend of secluded natural beauty and convenient access to regional points of interest makes TCPC a desirable location for Airstream enthusiasts who wish to both relax in nature and explore the wider Tennessee region.

Promotions or Special Offers

As a member-owned Airstream-exclusive campground, Tennessee Cumberland Plateau Campground (TCPC) primarily focuses on providing a consistent experience for its community and offering visitor sites to non-member Airstream owners. Specific "promotions" or "special offers" in the traditional sense (like discounts or packages) are not widely advertised for visitor stays. The current nightly rate for visitor sites for the 2025 season is $40, and there is no weekly rate discount mentioned, indicating a standard pricing structure. The park operates seasonally, typically from mid-April to November 15th. For potential members, the "Memberships for Sale" section on their website suggests that individual members may be selling their lots, which could represent varying price points or features. Any perceived "offers" would likely be tied to the value proposition of membership rather than short-term visitor discounts. Prospective visitors and especially those interested in membership should directly contact TCPC through their provided phone number or email to inquire about current rates, availability, and any specific details regarding membership purchases. This direct approach will provide the most accurate and up-to-date information regarding any financial considerations for a stay or ownership at TCPC.

Just had a horrible experience trying to buy a membership at TCPC. WE WERE trying to buy a site here. Made arrangements with seller to hold the pot for us. Membership director didn’t like that we did that without talking to HER first (even after we spoke to her months before and she refused to help us because “they weren’t open yet”) so she went on a power trip after we spent several hundred dollars to set up the “interview” with her she called the day before we were to fly into town to deny our interview and acceptance. Because we “made arrangements with the seller to hold the lot for us before we talked to her about it first. When I asked “how can we fix this” she said we can’t she was denying our application and wouldn’t be in town on the day we were flying in. and would not allow anyone else to talk to us about becoming an owner. Said we needed to fly back another time to speak to her when she was available. We were absolutely LIVID! We were later told by people in the park we weren’t only people she was like this with. Why would anyone keep this type or miserable person around and expect good reviews? Avoid avoid avoid this horrible, miserable, crazy person and look elsewhere. I certainly will.
