Introduction / Overview
For New York residents searching for the quintessential Upstate vacation experience, Alpine Lake Campground, often referred to as Alpine Lake RV Resort, stands out as a premier destination. Nestled within the scenic foothills of the majestic Adirondack Mountains, this expansive resort campground offers a true "get away from it all" atmosphere without sacrificing modern conveniences or accessibility to major regional attractions. Covering over 400 acres, the resort is strategically located between two beautiful, private lakes—Alpine Lake and Woodland Lake—providing unparalleled natural beauty and numerous waterfront activities.
The resort caters to a wide spectrum of campers, from those looking for a quick weekend escape to New Yorkers seeking a full seasonal home away from home. With nearly 500 sites, the park accommodates a variety of stays, including large RVs, tents, and furnished rental accommodations like cabins and park models. While it is a sizable park, its layout and abundant activities ensure a lively, family-oriented atmosphere, particularly on busy weekends and throughout the peak summer months. It is important for prospective visitors to understand that a significant portion of the resort caters to long-term seasonal and annual guests, which creates a strong sense of community but also means some areas feel more established than a typical short-term campground. However, the overall vibe is one of fun, activity, and making lasting family memories amidst stunning natural scenery.
The resort's operating season runs generally from May 1st through Columbus Day (early October), making it a perfect spring, summer, and fall retreat. Management emphasizes a friendly and accommodating approach, which, as noted by visitors, is often exemplified by helpful staff ready to assist with check-in and local information. Whether you're an avid RVer seeking full hookups or a family looking for a waterside rental, Alpine Lake RV Resort provides a comprehensive package for an Upstate New York outdoor adventure.
Location and Accessibility
Alpine Lake Campground is ideally situated at 78 Heath Road in Corinth, NY 12822, placing it directly at the gateway of the southern Adirondacks. This location is one of its most attractive features for New York State locals, as it provides a secluded, nature-filled retreat while remaining exceptionally close to two of the region's biggest vacation hubs: Lake George and Saratoga Springs.
The drive time to both historic Saratoga Springs and the famous Lake George Village is short, offering campers the convenience of quick day trips for sightseeing, dining, and entertainment. Saratoga Springs, known for its world-class racetrack, performing arts center (SPAC), and vibrant downtown, is easily reachable. Similarly, the recreational opportunities of Lake George—the "Queen of American Lakes"—are just a short jaunt away, providing access to boat tours, shopping, and other major attractions.
Access to the campground is generally straightforward. While GPS or navigation apps might sometimes guide vehicles onto smaller roads, local tips suggest using major routes like NY-9N for the smoothest approach to Heath Road. For RVers, in particular, this ease of access to a major state highway is essential for minimizing travel stress. The Corinth location, while providing a quiet setting, is centrally positioned to allow for exploration of everything the Capital Region and the southern Adirondacks have to offer, from hiking trails and watersports to historical sites and fine dining. This strategic positioning maximizes the value of a New York vacation, offering both a restful park experience and a launching pad for regional adventures.

Conclusion: Why this place is suitable for locals
Alpine Lake RV Resort is perfectly suited for local New York residents seeking a high-value, amenity-rich outdoor experience. For families in the Capital Region, Hudson Valley, or even the NYC Metro area, it offers a manageable drive to a true vacation destination that feels worlds away from the daily grind. The key suitability factors are its unparalleled amenities and location. The sheer volume of on-site activities—from two lakes and two pools to tennis courts, a playground, and themed weekends—means that once you arrive, you have everything you need for a complete vacation, saving on the cost and hassle of daily external excursions.
Furthermore, the resort’s close proximity to both Saratoga Springs and Lake George is a major benefit, allowing residents to easily access world-class attractions, cultural events, and dining whenever they choose. This duality—the peace of a private, forested lakeside retreat combined with quick access to bustling regional hotspots—is a difficult combination to find. For seasoned RVers, the high number of full hookup sites and the option for seasonal residency provide a guaranteed spot to enjoy the best of the Adirondack summer without the stress of constant booking and breakdown. While some areas of the park are highly residential with seasonal campers, this simply creates a stable, friendly community environment. Alpine Lake RV Resort truly serves as an excellent, memorable, and well-equipped 'base camp' for exploring the best of Upstate New York's natural and cultural offerings.
I recently had a wonderful experience at Alpine Lake Campground in Corinth, NY, and I can't recommend it enough! From the moment I arrived, Amy in the front office was incredibly helpful and full of valuable information, making the check-in process smooth and enjoyable. The campground itself is beautifully maintained, with stunning views and plenty of activities to keep everyone entertained. Whether you're looking to relax by the lake or explore the surrounding nature, this place has it all. I will definitely be returning for another visit!
Aug 26, 2025 · Kory MaloneWe paid for a lake view site which according to the website looked inviting for fishing. This is not the case. (See pictures attached). I was also under the impression according to their strict rules/policies which I read that the sites would be nicely maintained and neat which also wasn’t the case. It was more like a full time mobile home park with most sites full of outside clutter and storage. If you have a fear of spiders or rats do not use the laundry facility ( also photos attached). Overall just poorly maintained.
Jul 31, 2025 · Pamela WeirWe camped here last week, a great location for this campground. We attended Americade which was a few miles north at Lake George. Our camper was situated between 2 ponds, a very nice view. The only issue was when we checked in early afternoon, there was no water, a water break had occurred, we went to sleep that night with no water. I was told by a regular there it happens frequently so to the number of sites there and water pressure. The grounds were very clean and well managed.
Jun 02, 2025 · Ken HThis is a RV resort/ campground, so the questions pertaining to a "hotel" don't apply. It's quiet, we'll kept and very relaxing. It's on a lake and many of the sites are lake facing. My husband and I were here for the Lake George "Americaide" motorcycle week. It was close enough to be a nice, short ride to Lake George but far enough away as to not be in the middle of all the festivities when we were ready for some downtime. Would definitely come back.
May 30, 2025 · Gail CrescimannoBeautiful site right on the pond, two clean pools, plenty of chairs, friendly staff upon check in. Even moved our site when we asked to be next to friends We'll be back in the fall, hopefully we'll get some colorful leaves. Warning, there are geese and ducks so be aware of their droppings, but it's a fair trade off in my opinion
