This unique campground offers a refreshingly quiet atmosphere, setting it apart from more crowded alternatives, making it an ideal retreat for those who value tranquility and personal space in the heart of our wild and wonderful state.
Camp Floppy Fish has garnered attention for its dedication to providing a serene environment. As one long-term camper noted, "it does have less campers than near by parks but that just means it's quiet and don't have to worry about nosey neighbors." This emphasis on privacy and calm makes it a perfect destination for individuals, families, and remote workers who desire the beauty of West Virginia’s outdoors without the typical hustle and bustle often found at larger, more commercial campgrounds. Moreover, for the modern West Virginian who needs to balance outdoor adventure with daily responsibilities, Camp Floppy Fish offers a surprising advantage. Despite its quiet setting and lack of provided internet, a long-term resident highlighted, "I have had zero phone issues since being at the camp site I home school 3 children and work from home internationally and have had no issues. there isn't Internet provided but my regular service from T-Mobile works perfectly fine." I know there seems to be a bunch of bad reviews but if you take the time to read them they're personal problems and not anything really related to the camp site. I have been at this campsite for over 90 days and the owners have been extremely attentive and responsive anytime I needed something or simply just had a question. as someone currently living here camp floppy fish is def recommended out of all of the places in the area. it does have less campers than near by parks but that just means it's quite and don't have to worry about nosey neighbors 😄 I also have had zero phone issues since being at the camp site I home school 3 children and work from home internationally and have had no issues. there isn't Internet provided but my regular service from T-Mobile works perfectly fine.
Nov 19, 2024 · Joseph PedrozaThis has to be the worst campaign/camping ground ever. There is no public transportation around so you have to walk or drive to go anywhere, also is no room service which absolutely sucks. It’s very expensive and they do not offer free breakfast at all. People gettin funny and Money gettin funny I guess.
Jun 08, 2025 · Victor GionscottiJust a fine campground. If you want a big campground with lots of neighbors and social scene this probably isn’t the place. It *is* wonderful if you’re looking for a low-key river retreat (there’s a gravel ramp across the field for launching canoes and kayaks) with a couple neighbors and a bubbling creek off the back of your trailer. We had a couple questions both before booking and right when we got there and the owners were very responsive and helpful! We’ve got nothing but good things to say so far. EDIT: YALL they sent us a Christmas card to thank us for being guests! Definitely looking forward to staying here again next time we're camping on the Greenbrier River.
Feb 03, 2023 · Jeff ViniardI would rate this place at 0 if I could. I have decided to change my overall rating of this place & will explain in great deep detail of my experience here starting from the beginning till this very present time just so everyone else has the chance to avoid this place & save themselves the 10x troubles of messing with the owners as well as everything else that is a downfall with it. I will also be putting parts of my personal life & personal relation with the owners/ landlord's I've got to experience for the short time I have into this description because it definitely is a part of this experience. Will be finishing this edit today or sometime soon but I do not have the time & have to take care of myself & my children as well as a ton of messed up things I am going through right now which is a part of this experience. This is the truth I have from my experience that God gave & showed me to share with others. This is my personal experience & it is covered by the right to freedom of speech. I have pictures as well as recordings that will be used for this that are covered under my personal experience & freedom of speech. Update 05/23/2024- (finally! Lol) This place doesn't have good phone service if any at all & there's no internet included & even to get it yourself there is none in that area at all & if ya tried to get satellite its too expensive & its too slow & sucks. Plus this place isn't very big & is literally ontop of the 2 lane road with 18 wheelers & people flying by every day & night. It's not safe for kids or pets. When it rains hard the creek next to the camper site connected to the river will rise & get too close for comfort like it's going to flood out. It has flooded out before don't let them fool you by saying that happened years ago & hasnt since. The possibility when it rains hard is still high! Also I was going through hard times when I was living here my exhusband, who was still husband at the time, who had abused, neglected, & abandoned me & my 2 babies. I was pregnant & had my firstborn son at the time. When I was forced to leave I had just gave birth to my thirdborn. I had no where to go & no support at all, no friends or family (if you knew my life story you would understand why). I didnt qualify for help from state cause of my exhusband at the time was still married to me. Plus I dont trust the state after all I been through with it & how dirty it can be concerning it only cares about making matters worse to make more money & etc.. The owners didn't care what I was going through & made it harder on me & gave me straight attitude & treated me poorly & was going to get my babies & I camper (our only home) towed knowing I didnt have the money to get it moved or to get it back if taken. They even threatened to take me to court & said that they would own my camper if I didnt move it. They only pretend to like you & be nice (two faced, only nice to your face but opposite behind your back) so they can get their money. Yes they knew what was going on cause I had explained to them in deep detail so they would understand & possibly help me but they didn't help at all & could care less about what I went through or that my babies & I had no where to go. I couldnt control what my exhusband did nor did I plan or know what I was going to go through cause of him. There are tons of other sites to take your rv/ camper to especially close by if ya don't know where just ask people who love in the camper you see & they will give you informstion to contact the owner if ya dont see a sogn with the number & name. So don't waste your time or money just go somewhere else.......
May 24, 2024 · H CThis place is AMAZING!! Beautiful, quiet and right on the river! Water and sewer hookups for RVs, campfire pits at each site, and private river access! Family owned and very well-managed.
