Visitors often describe the campground as having a surprising depth once you step beyond its initial appearance. What might seem like a regular neighborhood house from Meyers Avenue quickly expands into a spacious and well-equipped campground in the back. This unique layout contributes to its charm, offering both privacy and ample room for various activities, setting it apart from more traditional, secluded campgrounds.
Festival Park Campground boasts an incredibly convenient location right in the heart of Meyersdale, Pennsylvania, at 120 Meyers Ave, Meyersdale, PA 15552, USA. This in-town setting is a significant advantage for local Pennsylvanians, offering unparalleled accessibility to the town's amenities and the region's most celebrated outdoor attractions.
One of its most prominent features is its direct connection to the Great Allegheny Passage (GAP) Trail. Meyersdale is a designated "Trail Town" along the GAP, and Festival Park Campground places you right where the action is. Cyclists and hikers can easily access the trail, which connects Pittsburgh to Cumberland, Maryland, and eventually to Washington, D.C. This direct access means no need for lengthy drives to trailheads; you can simply walk or ride from your campsite straight onto the scenic path. This is particularly appealing for those planning multi-day cycling trips or leisurely day rides exploring the stunning landscapes of the Laurel Highlands, including the nearby Salisbury Viaduct and Big Savage Tunnel, both iconic structures on the GAP.
Beyond the GAP Trail, the campground’s in-town location means that Meyersdale's local shops, restaurants, and historical sites are all within easy walking distance. As one review noted, locals themselves refer visitors to this campground for overnight stays, a testament to its convenience and integration within the community. This proximity allows campers to experience the authentic charm of Meyersdale, from exploring the Meyersdale Area Historical Society to enjoying local eateries, without needing to drive.
The address on Meyers Avenue, while initially appearing like a regular neighborhood, quickly opens up to a surprisingly large area at the back, accommodating multiple tents and offering spacious open areas. This unique configuration provides a quiet retreat while still maintaining immediate access to the vibrancy of the town. For Pennsylvanians, this accessibility is key to maximizing their vacation time, allowing for a seamless transition between outdoor adventure and local cultural experiences.

- Spacious and Open Layout: Despite its in-town location, the campground expands significantly behind the initial entrance, offering ample open space, benches, and picnic tables. This provides a comfortable and uncrowded environment for campers.
- Covered Stage for Shelter and Events: The presence of a large covered stage area is a distinct advantage, offering shelter for multiple tents during less favorable weather or serving as a central point for small gatherings or impromptu performances. This reflects its dual purpose as both a campground and an event venue.
- Friendly and Welcoming Atmosphere: Customer reviews consistently highlight the "friendly area" and positive interactions with locals. This welcoming vibe contributes significantly to a pleasant and memorable camping experience.
- Affordable Tent Camping: At a price point of $20 per site, Festival Park Campground offers an economical option for individuals or small groups looking for basic but well-equipped tent camping, making it an attractive choice for budget-conscious travelers.
While Festival Park Campground does not typically list ongoing, wide-scale "promotions" in the traditional sense, its operational model and pricing inherently offer great value, especially for those interested in the events it hosts.
- Affordable Daily Rate: At just $20 per site, which includes space for one tent or hammock, use of fire pits with firewood, Wi-Fi, and access to restrooms with hot showers, the campground offers a highly competitive and budget-friendly option for overnight stays. This pricing structure serves as an ongoing "offer" for accessible and amenity-rich camping.
- Event-Integrated Stays: The primary "special offer" of Festival Park Campground is its unique integration with the Pennsylvania Maple Festival and other local events. By camping directly at the festival grounds, visitors gain unparalleled access and immersion in these community celebrations. The ability to simply walk from your tent to the pancake breakfast or car show during the Maple Festival is a major convenience and value proposition that other accommodations cannot match.
- Value for Great Allegheny Passage Users: For cyclists and hikers on the Great Allegheny Passage, the campground's accessible location right in Meyersdale means saving on transportation costs and time. This direct access to the trail, combined with basic amenities, provides excellent value for long-distance trekkers.
To inquire about any specific rates for groups, longer stays, or packages that might coincide with local events beyond the Maple Festival, it is always best to contact the campground directly. Customer Reviews
Great pancake festival. Lots of nice cars. Friendly area!
We were looking for staying in Meyersdale over night. We’re referred by the locals to this campground located just in town. Although the main entrance by Meyers Avenue looked like a regular neighborhood house, it became huge when we walked to its back. There was a covered stage that might fit many tents. The open campground was nice. There were a lot of benches and picnic tables. There were restrooms with showers. There was corn holes to play on as well.
Surprisingly great place! Exceeded my expectations in every way. I set my hammock up under a roof there was free fire wood and wifi. Plenty of room for tents throughout the yard and plenty of places to set up under a roof. Showers and bathrooms were very clean and spacious. I highly recommend this place. Its so conveniently located to restaurants too! Im on avery long bike journey (acrossthemapwithmatt.com) this has been a great and restful stop.
Great site. Lots of space. The owner is friendly and easy to get a hold of to make arrangements. I was able to hang my hammock under shelter along with my bike. The shower was much appreciated after riding the trail for a couple days. If I’m camping the trail again, I’m definitely coming back here. Walking distance to Sheetz and some other restaurants (if they are open).
Great camp for bike riders. Suzie has thought of everything: firewood, clothesline with pins, a can opener, wifi, boxes of games and a frisbee...all.stuff you might use while here. We are camped on a stage with a giant tent that has four older people in it. Altogether there were 10 people staying at the camp. Its quiet and feels safe. Bathrooms and clean and the single show is hot. A great deal for $15/tent.
