HOOTERHILLS is situated at 9347 Bear Creek Rd, Morgantown, IN 46160, USA. This location places it in a scenic, somewhat rural part of Indiana, within easy reach of popular outdoor destinations like Brown County. Morgantown offers a quieter, more relaxed pace of life, making it an ideal setting for a campground that emphasizes peace and natural beauty.
While described as "off the beaten path," the campground is accessible, allowing campers to drive up to and park near their campsites, as noted by a recent visitor. Its relative proximity to major interstates in Southern Indiana makes it a convenient stop for those traveling south, or for local Hoosiers seeking a quick escape. Although it offers a sense of seclusion, it's not entirely isolated. Visitors have mentioned local dining options like Green Hill Dinner, indicating that small-town conveniences are within reach for those who wish to venture out. Mobile phone reception may be limited within the campground itself, varying by carrier (e.g., AT&T users reporting no service, Verizon users with some reception), which further contributes to the "unplugged" nature of the experience, encouraging a deeper connection with nature. However, a short drive of "just a mile either way" can often bring back mobile service.
Proximity to natural attractions such as Tecumseh Hiking Trails, Yellowwood State Forest, Morgan/Monroe State Forest, and Bear Lake also makes HOOTERHILLS an excellent base for exploring the diverse landscapes and outdoor activities that Southern Indiana has to offer.

Customer Reviews
I cannot say enough great things about Jeremiah and his campsite at Hooterhills. We stayed here for the solar eclipse and Jeremiah went above and beyond to see to his guests needs. He chopped wood 🪓🪵 for us, ensured we had a fire pit 🔥 and was just all around helpful to our needs. I give this campground 2 thumbs 👍 way up and 5 gold stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐. This is some great off the beaten path Indiana camping. ⛺
Camping here was such a great experience!! My boyfriend and I drove 8 hours from Wisconsin for the solar eclipse and we are so happy we did and happy we found Hooterhills! it was more than worth it. Jeremiah was very helpful and hospitable. We spoke on the phone twice before the trip and he was helpful with giving me a decent idea of what the property and campsites were like and what to expect. There are multiple campsites that aren’t too far away from the electrical thingy, then there are a variety of campsites that are a little further of a walk, but not too far. We made camp just up the first hill you see on the property where we could drive up and park. It’s a very beautiful place and has very calming and peaceful energy all around it. The campsites are easy to settle into. It’s always advisable to research weather conditions before any camping trip and we were pretty lucky with decent weather but speaking with Jeremiah on the phone was helpful too. (I have AT&T for service and never had reception out there but my partner has Verizon and got a little reception but if you go just a mile either way, you should find some bars.) *Went out to eat at Green Hill dinner in town, very good scratch kitchen. Oh, one thing I would say which I planned on already, is to bring extra water and maybe a 5 gallon bucket of water just to have for rinsing hands or maybe rinsing dishes. I’m glad I spoke with Jeremiah before leaving for the weekend, he told me there was some rain earlier in the week so I knew what to expect. This being somewhere I’ve never been to and also out of state for me, with only 3 reviews at the time I could find, I admit I was a little weary at first with me being a an avid horror-movie and true-crime fan (LOL) but I had good feelings about the place and Jeremiah answered the phone every time I called with questions. He and his family that we briefly met are genuine, kind people. I will most likely come back someday, especially if I’m traveling south. If I was more local/closer in location, I would come here more frequently for the peaceful nature and relaxation.
Great spot for the Eclipse. Host was very hospitable and very accommodating, personally making sure every guest was equipped for the event! Couldn't recommend highly enough.
Beautiful and peaceful. The old barn and old used out house are very retro. Well worth a camping trip
Nice peaceful place to come and enjoy the quietness of the woods and to just relax
