Kal-Haven RV Park boasts an exceptionally desirable location at 1073 E Wells St, South Haven, MI 49090, USA. This address places it within prime walking and biking distance of South Haven's most beloved attractions, offering unparalleled convenience for Michigan travelers.

The park's accessibility is one of its strongest selling points. It's located "on Kal-Haven Trail and the Black River," providing immediate access to the famous 33.5-mile Kal-Haven Trail State Park. This paved trail is a major draw for cyclists, hikers, and runners, connecting South Haven all the way to Kalamazoo. For RVers who enjoy outdoor activity right from their doorstep, this is a significant advantage.

This means campers can easily "walk to town and beach" or take a very short bike ride to enjoy Lake Michigan's sandy shores, the South Haven Lighthouse, and the vibrant shops, restaurants, and bars of the city center. Essential services like Walmart and Meijer are also "within a couple miles," adding to the convenience. While some larger campers have noted a "complicated turn" upon arrival, the overall consensus is that the location itself is "ideal" and "wonderful" for exploring the South Haven area without needing to constantly drive and search for parking. This makes it an incredibly appealing base for Michigan locals looking to experience the best of this popular resort town.

So very disappointed. Reserved for 3 nights for week before Memorial Day. Arrived Monday and there were only 2 other sites that had occupants out of 20. Very unusual for camping before a holiday. It was not well maintained but location ideal for walking to town and beach. Woke up this morning to no power and now only people there. Found out bill hadn't been paid and electricity had been shut off by power company. We asked for money back. Now our vacation was cut short. Very unprofessional! Find somewhere else!

So let me start by saying I would camp here again. This "campground" however is just someone's front yard. Definitely ask for a site with the woods behind you! There are no amenities. There is a bathroom, not sure if there is a shower as I didn't check that out. You will never meet or see the owner. Multiply people come back each year and they are very friendly. It is a quiet place to relax and just hang out. No internet, I used my hot spot. Complicated turn if you have a large camper.

This review is long overdue but much needed. We stayed at this RV park in August of 2023 for the blueberry festival. This is definitely a no frills RV park, but I think that's exactly why we liked it. It is small and the location to downtown South Haven was perfect. It is well maintained and we highly recommend staying there if you don't need a lot of frills when RVing.

We were in site next to the only (unisex) bathroom. The site was ok but on the small side. The problem was with some people who were living in their car by the “office”. We heard them talking about needing a fix. When they weren’t in the car, they seemed to be hanging out in the bathroom. One women just sat on the floor in the bathroom (with the door open) staring into space. Needless to say, it did not feel safe. South Haven is a beautiful area but I would not stay here again.

Nice basic park/campground. No frills but super clean and the location is as good as it gets for a weekender spot coming through South Haven. We've stayed here twice and would happily return again!
