Are you planning an RV adventure through the heart of Missouri, perhaps on your way to or from Kansas City, and looking for a convenient and affordable place to rest? Mayview RV Park, nestled in the charming town of Mayview, Missouri, offers a straightforward and budget-friendly option for RV travelers. This park caters to those seeking a quiet overnight stop or a short-term base for exploring the surrounding rural landscape.
RV parks are essential havens for travelers on the open road, providing necessary hookups and amenities to make a journey comfortable. Mayview RV Park embraces a more rustic and "honor system" approach, which can be appealing to those who appreciate simplicity and a no-frills experience. It's a place where you can find the basic necessities for your RV without the added cost of extensive resort-style amenities that some larger parks offer.
The concept of an "honor system" park, as employed by Mayview RV Park, means that guests are typically entrusted to make their payments and adhere to park rules without constant direct supervision. This fosters a sense of trust and community among travelers and often allows for more flexible check-in and check-out times, which can be a huge benefit for those with unpredictable travel schedules. While it may not have all the bells and whistles of a luxury resort, its appeal lies in its practicality and affordability.
For many RV enthusiasts, the joy of travel lies in the journey itself and the opportunity to experience different locales, even small, charming towns like Mayview. A park like Mayview RV Park serves as an excellent waypoint, providing essential services at a price point that makes long-term travel more sustainable. It’s a reflection of the hospitality often found in rural Missouri, where simplicity and genuine convenience are highly valued.
It's important for prospective visitors to understand the nature of such a park. While some RVers prioritize extensive amenities, others seek a quiet, functional place to park their rig, hook up, and get a good night's sleep. Mayview RV Park aligns with the latter, offering full hookups and a peaceful atmosphere, making it a practical choice for many travelers passing through or exploring this part of Missouri.
Mayview RV Park is strategically situated on W College St in Mayview, MO 64071, USA. Its location is particularly convenient for travelers on Interstate 70, making it an accessible stop for those journeying across Missouri. The park is approximately an hour east of Kansas City, serving as an ideal break point for those heading towards or away from the metropolitan area.
For those traveling east from Kansas City on I-70, the recommended exit is #41. From there, you would take the outer service road east for about 2 miles to Highway E, then turn North and go 4 miles into Mayview. If you're coming from the west on I-70, take exit #45, then the outer service road west for 2 miles to Highway E, and then north 4 miles to Mayview. Once you're in town, following local directions or a map will lead you directly to the park.
Despite its rural setting, Mayview offers a glimpse into small-town Missouri life. Within walking distance of the RV park, visitors can find a local bar, and there appears to be a small wooden playground across the street, offering a brief respite for families. The town also has a restaurant called "Michelle's Place" and "The Train Station Bar & Grill" that could offer local dining experiences. The proximity to the Mayview School building, which houses a laundry and shower facility available to park guests, further enhances its convenience.
For those interested in local attractions, the historic town of Lexington, known for its rich history and antebellum homes, is within a reasonable driving distance. Additionally, outdoor enthusiasts might appreciate the scenic trails of Knob Noster State Park, offering opportunities for hiking and enjoying Missouri's natural beauty. These nearby points of interest can provide pleasant excursions for those staying at Mayview RV Park for more than just an overnight stop.
Mayview RV Park's primary "special offer" is its consistently low daily rate of $20 for full hookups, operating on an honor system. This in itself is a significant promotion, as many RV parks with comparable services charge considerably more.
Given its simple, honor-system model, it's unlikely that Mayview RV Park frequently runs traditional promotions like "stay X nights, get one free" or seasonal discounts. Its value proposition is built on consistent affordability and straightforward access to essential services.
For the most up-to-date information on rates, availability, or any unadvertised offerings, it is always recommended to contact the park directly.
For inquiries, availability, or to confirm details about your stay at Mayview RV Park, you can reach out using the following contact information:
While the park operates on an honor system for payment, contacting them ahead of time can be helpful for any specific questions, especially regarding site availability or current conditions.
For Missouri residents, particularly those who embrace the RV lifestyle or are looking for a convenient, no-frills stop within the state, Mayview RV Park offers a highly suitable and practical solution. Its primary appeal lies in its remarkable affordability and its straightforward approach to RV camping. At just $20 per day for full hookups on an honor system, it stands out as one of the most budget-friendly options for short-term stays in the region.
The park's quiet, rural setting provides a peaceful retreat from the hustle and bustle of city life, making it an excellent choice for those seeking tranquility. While it may not boast extensive amenities, the availability of essential services like full hookups, and a nearby laundry and shower facility, ensures a comfortable and convenient stay. This simplicity is often exactly what local RVers, who might be familiar with the various types of campgrounds available, are looking for—a reliable place to park and recharge without unnecessary expenses.
Its location in Mayview, a small but charming Missouri town, offers a genuine local experience. Being an hour east of Kansas City, it's perfectly positioned for those traveling across the state or simply looking for a weekend getaway that's not too far from home. For those interested in exploring beyond the immediate vicinity, the historic town of Lexington and Knob Noster State Park are within a reasonable drive, offering cultural and outdoor activities.
In essence, Mayview RV Park is ideal for Missouri locals who value affordability, simplicity, and a quiet place to park their RV, whether for a quick overnight stop or a slightly longer stay to explore the surrounding rural charm and attractions. It’s a testament to the practical and welcoming spirit of rural Missouri, providing exactly what’s needed for a comfortable and budget-conscious RV experience.

The pictures are very deceiving! This is a VERY tiny campground with spaces very close together in a very weird & run-down location. It's a great deal for $20, but I left & drove a few more minutes to a $40 spot bc I just didn't feel comfortable.
May 06, 2025 · L BMFull hook up even in January for $20 cash honor system. Very quiet except for the 4am train (not the campground's fault). Single shower and toilet adjacent to the school, press the handicap button to open the laundry and bring your own soap for the bathroom sink and quarters for shower. RV spots are level and made of gravel. There appear to be some full timers here on the north side of the campground, but at least 8 sites available when we arrived 1/2/24. Bar is within walking distance. Small wooden playground across the street.
Jan 03, 2024 · Andrew LeeThis place really saved us a few months ago! We were on a cross country road trip to our new home and couldn't make it to our next stop as it was getting late and we were so tired. I found this place randomly online and Ricky was the nicest man and ready to help us out. The park was clean and quiet. Ricky really saved us that night and we are forever grateful to him!
Dec 11, 2023 · Nicole DouglesWe stayed 2 nights here in a class A towing. No frills, laid back, industrial area close however they have a community garden, yours to pick from and hoops, other playground equipment as well. Downtown is a bit of a haul but great restaurants, Truman Library and then head back to the quiet of Mayview. The owner could not have been nicer. Great price!
Aug 11, 2023 · wendy macmullenSecond time staying here and we enjoy it. The small town feel. Michelle's restaurant. This is a nice quiet place. A train goes through once in a while, but that adds to the ambiance of it all. The gentleman that runs the place is the nicest man you'll ever meet! Please take a chance and visit if you can. It is 45 minutes from Kansas City, but that's a good thing..
