Stone Creek RV About

Are you a Tennessee RVer in search of a straightforward, full hookup site that prioritizes essential amenities like reliable power and internet connectivity, all within a peaceful setting? Look no further than Stone Creek RV in Cookeville, Tennessee. This RV park caters to those who value practicality and a quiet environment over extensive recreational facilities, making it a functional and comfortable choice for a variety of local needs, from overnight stops to week-long stays.

Stone Creek RV understands that for many Tennesseans, an RV park serves as a convenient base while exploring the region, visiting family, or simply needing a reliable spot with full hookups. While it might not boast a swimming pool or a dedicated office, reviews consistently highlight its primary strengths: comfort, essential amenities, and a friendly, unobtrusive presence from the owners. If you're an RVer who prefers a no-fuss experience where you can set up quickly, enjoy good connectivity, and have a quiet night's sleep, Stone Creek RV could be exactly what you're looking for right here in the heart of the Volunteer State.

Location and Accessibility

Stone Creek RV is located at 500 Sliger Rd, Cookeville, TN 38506, USA. Cookeville, a vibrant city in Putnam County, is a central hub in the Upper Cumberland region of Tennessee, known for its friendly atmosphere and proximity to numerous outdoor attractions and state parks. The park's address places it near Interstate 40, a major east-west artery across Tennessee, which is generally advantageous for RV travelers.

However, it's important for local users to be aware of the specific nuances of accessibility, as noted in customer reviews. While advertised as a short distance from I-40, some larger Class A RVs have found the access road and the park's internal pathways to be "very difficult" and "narrow," with a "very steep hill going down to the campsites." Rocks are also mentioned as present. This feedback suggests that while the location is geographically convenient to a major interstate, RVers, particularly those with longer or larger rigs, should exercise caution and be prepared for potentially challenging maneuvers, especially at night. Despite these navigational considerations, the park's proximity to Cookeville proper means easy access to city amenities, including grocery stores, restaurants, fuel stations, and other services, ensuring that your stay is practical from a logistical standpoint.

Services Offered

Stone Creek RV focuses on providing core services essential for a comfortable RV stay, particularly for those needing full hookups and good connectivity. While it consciously eschews some of the recreational amenities found at larger resorts, its strength lies in delivering reliable basics:

  • Full Hookup RV Sites: The park offers full hookups, meaning each site provides water, sewer, and electricity connections. This is a crucial service for all types of RVs, ensuring convenience and self-sufficiency.
  • Reliable WiFi: Guests consistently praise the "good Wi-Fi," making it easy to stay connected for work, entertainment, or communication during your stay.
  • Good Satellite Reception: For those relying on satellite for television, reviews indicate "good satellite reception," adding to entertainment options.
  • Well-Lit at Night: The park is described as "very well lit at night," which contributes to a sense of security and ease of navigation after dark.
  • On-Site Management/Oversight: A "friendly, but not nosy, lady and her husband keep an eye on the place," suggesting a level of oversight and presence from owners who are available if needed but respect guest privacy.
  • Online Reservation System: Reservations are made online, with site numbers provided via email, indicating a streamlined, self-service booking process.
  • Pet-Friendly: While not explicitly stated in all reviews, the overall tone suggests a relaxed environment where pets are generally welcome, though it's always best to confirm specific policies.

Features / Highlights

Stone Creek RV, despite its minimalist approach to amenities, possesses several key features that make it a notable option for specific types of RVers, particularly Tennessee locals seeking convenience and quiet:

  • Focus on Essential Services: Its primary highlight is the reliable provision of full hookups and good WiFi, making it an excellent choice for RVers who prioritize these fundamental necessities above all else.
  • Quiet Atmosphere: Despite its proximity to a major interstate, the park is described as "quiet," offering a peaceful environment for relaxation and rest, which is a significant draw for many campers.
  • Practical and Comfortable for Stays: Reviews indicate that guests were "perfectly comfortable" even during week-long stays, highlighting its functionality as a base camp rather than a resort destination.
  • Owner Presence (Non-Intrusive): The "friendly, but not nosy, lady and her husband" who "keep an eye on the place" provide a reassuring presence without being overbearing, contributing to a sense of security and relaxed atmosphere.
  • Accessibility for Various Rig Sizes (with caution): While challenging for very large rigs, the fact that "motorhomes and travel trailers come and go" suggests that with careful navigation, it can accommodate a range of RV types.
  • Convenient to Cookeville: Being "very close to Cookeville Tennessee" provides easy access to the city's amenities, including shops, restaurants, and other services, making it a practical choice for local errands or exploring the town.
  • No-Frills Approach: For RVers who prefer a straightforward experience without the added cost or distraction of pools, clubhouses, or extensive recreational facilities, Stone Creek RV's minimalist approach is a highlight.

It's really not a bad place if you only need full hookup and wifi. We spent a week here and were perfectly comfortable. No pool, no office. Friendly, but not nosy, lady and her husband keep an eye on the place. Water was clean despite what others posted. It's a downhill slope to get in and out but motorhomes and travel trailers come and go. Very well lit at night. Very close to Cookeville Tennessee. No picnic tables or fire rings either. We liked it. Make your reservation on line and your email will have your site number.

This is a very difficult Rv Park to get to and navigate if you have a class A over 36 feet. There are rocks everywhere and the pathways are narrow. The water pressure is very low. There is a very steep hill going down to the campsites. There are no trash cans, and there are no instructions or anything given. The fee is $50 a night, the same we were paying at KOA In the area. When you call in, they tell you they are half mile off of i40. They are at least a mile and a half off I 40 and down a very difficult road. It is quiet, and the Wi-Fi was good along with satellite reception. We will not be staying here again. Too expensive and too difficult.

I have been traveling/camping for the past 30 years and have spent many nights in this secluded, peaceful campground. Close to town but in a stoney, woodsy area. The Manger is always helpful and kind. If you like a quiet, pet friendly off the grid spot, this is it!

Don’t listen to Linda “Boomer” BARRON. Since she was gracious enough to include a picture of my RV, I will provide a rebuttal. I’ve lived here long term since October. I guess Linda missed the dumpster because she was too focused on the “rocks”. We have a dumpster on the top in the hill. If you are obnoxious and buy a huge RV, you will have trouble everywhere trying to navigate the sites. If you can’t drive just say that. Water pressure is great in my RV, so maybe you need to get yours looked at Linda. Also the Internet in this park is awesome. We never have issues not being able to stream. Overall, Linda is a boomer and as we all know will never be happy. The RV park is sufficient for short term and long term. P.S I don’t know Keri other than every month I give her a check. P.S.S Linda don’t take pictures of strangers homes and post them for you enjoyment.
