Cuyahoga County Fairgrounds RV Park About
For RV enthusiasts and travelers exploring the vibrant northern Ohio region, the Cuyahoga County Fairgrounds RV Park in Middleburg Heights presents a practical and strategically located option. This isn't your typical resort-style RV park with extensive amenities; instead, it offers a no-frills yet highly functional basecamp designed for convenience and value. Operated within the grounds of the historic Cuyahoga County Fairgrounds, this RV park caters primarily to those seeking full hookups and unparalleled access to the greater Cleveland metropolitan area. Whether you're visiting for a short weekend getaway to catch a Guardians game, planning an extended stay for work or family visits, or simply passing through on your way to other Ohio attractions, this RV park provides the essential services you need. It’s an ideal choice for RVers who prioritize location and affordability over elaborate recreational facilities, allowing you to maximize your time exploring the rich cultural, historical, and natural offerings of Northeast Ohio.
The Cuyahoga County Fairgrounds RV Park boasts an excellent location at 19201 Bagley Rd, Middleburg Heights, OH 44130, USA. This address places it in the heart of Middleburg Heights, a well-connected suburb southwest of Cleveland. The park's most significant asset is its strategic position, offering incredibly easy access to major highways, making it a breeze to navigate to virtually "anywhere in Cleveland." Reviewers consistently highlight this crucial aspect, noting it’s just a short, easy drive to downtown Cleveland, its renowned attractions like the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, professional sports venues, and countless dining and entertainment options.
Beyond vehicular access, a major highlight for those without a tow vehicle or who prefer public transportation is the proximity to Cleveland's RTA rapid transit system. A "metro stop 10 minutes away" (likely implying a short drive to a station) provides a convenient and cost-effective way to reach various parts of the city, including Hopkins International Airport (CLE), which is also just a few minutes' drive away. This makes the RV park an excellent choice for those flying in and out, or for visitors who prefer to explore the city without the hassle of driving and parking in congested areas. The easy accessibility combined with its suburban setting makes it a highly practical choice for both short-term tourists and long-term visitors to the region.
The Cuyahoga County Fairgrounds RV Park focuses on providing essential services that cater directly to the needs of RVers. While it's not a resort with extensive amenities, its core offerings are practical and valuable:
- Full Hookups: The primary service offered is full hookup RV sites. This typically includes connections for electricity (commonly 30 and/or 50 amp), water, and sewer directly at each designated site. This is a significant convenience for any RVer, ensuring a comfortable and self-sufficient stay.
- Affordable Value: Despite being centrally located near a major metropolitan area, the park is frequently noted by visitors for offering "good value." This implies competitive pricing for its full hookup sites compared to other RV parks in similar urban-proximate locations.
- Seasonal Operation (Fairgrounds Schedule): As part of the fairgrounds, the RV park's availability and specific services might be influenced by the fairgrounds' event schedule, particularly during the annual Cuyahoga County Fair. While usually open for general RV camping, it's wise to confirm availability around major events.
- On-Site Management (Limited Hours): The park has an office or contact point for management. However, customer feedback indicates that the "office is only open a few times a week," suggesting limited hours for in-person assistance. This requires RVers to be relatively self-sufficient or plan their communication accordingly.
- Security (Fairgrounds Environment): Being located within a fairgrounds complex often provides a level of inherent security, with controlled access points and periodic presence of fairground staff or security personnel.
- Trash Disposal: General trash disposal facilities are typically available for residents.
It is important for prospective campers to note that while full hookups are generally provided, it is always recommended, as one review states, to "double check that your spot has all utilities and that they're working before parking." This proactive approach ensures a smooth setup.
The Cuyahoga County Fairgrounds RV Park, while not a luxury destination, offers several compelling features and highlights, especially for RVers seeking convenience and practical value:
- Unbeatable Location for Cleveland Exploration: This is arguably its strongest feature. Its proximity to downtown Cleveland, major highways (like I-71, I-77, I-90), and public transit allows campers to easily access the city's vast array of attractions without the urban parking hassles. Whether it's a concert, a sports event, museums, or dining, everything is within an easy drive or metro ride.
- Full Hookup Convenience: The provision of full hookups (electric, water, sewer) at each site is a significant highlight, offering maximum comfort and self-sufficiency for RVers. This eliminates the need for frequent trips to dump stations or water refill points.
- Excellent Value for Money: Visitors consistently report that the RV park offers "good value" for its services and location. For those traveling on a budget or needing an extended stay in the Cleveland area, this affordability is a major draw.
- Proximity to Hopkins International Airport (CLE): Its close distance to Cleveland's main airport makes it exceptionally convenient for those flying in or out, or for visitors picking up/dropping off family members.
- Quiet Suburban Setting: Despite its proximity to a major city, Middleburg Heights offers a quieter suburban environment, providing a peaceful retreat after a day of city exploration.
- Large, Open Spaces (Fairgrounds Setting): Being located on fairgrounds implies large, open spaces, which can be beneficial for maneuvering RVs and providing a sense of openness. While specific site sizes aren't detailed, the overall environment is generally spacious.
- Suitability for Extended Stays: While a previous review mentioned a change in long-term stay policies, the park has historically accommodated longer stays, making it a viable option for those on work assignments or extended visits to the Cleveland area. It's crucial to confirm current long-term policies directly with management.
As a municipal or fairground-operated RV park, the Cuyahoga County Fairgrounds RV Park typically doesn't offer extensive "promotions" in the same way a privately owned resort might. However, special considerations or types of "offers" can include:
- Competitive Daily/Weekly/Monthly Rates: The primary "offer" is its consistent good value. The park aims to provide affordable full-hookup sites, making its standard rates a cost-effective choice for various stay durations.
- Fairground Event Packages (Potential): While not a regular promotion, during specific fairground events (like the annual Cuyahoga County Fair), there might be special RV parking packages or reserved spots for attendees. It's essential to check the Fairgrounds' official website for event-specific camping details.
- Seasonal Availability: The RV park's operational season might be a consideration. While generally open for much of the year, understanding peak vs. off-peak rates (if any) could offer minor savings.
- Long-Term Stay Options: While one review indicated issues with changes in long-term stay arrangements, the park traditionally has offered options for extended stays. Inquiring directly about current long-term rates and availability can reveal potential cost benefits for longer visits compared to daily rates.
For the most accurate and up-to-date information on rates, availability, and any special conditions, it is always recommended to contact the Cuyahoga County Fairgrounds RV Park directly via phone or check their official fairgrounds website. Given the limited office hours mentioned in reviews, planning your call in advance is advisable.

The Cuyahoga County Fairgrounds RV Park is a no-nonsense, high-value solution that perfectly complements the needs of the discerning Ohio RVer.
Customer Reviews
Location is everything! Easy drive to anywhere in Cleveland, metro stop 10 minutes away. Full hookups, not much else. Hard to get a hold of anyone, since the office is only open a few times a week. But overall good value. Double check that your spot has all utilities and that they're working before parking.
I needed to stay a few months for work I was told I would have to leave early August which was fine. However they changed the date to July 31, I was told I could move to a 50amp spot with no water or septic which was ok. However when I called close to the date of July 31 I was told that was never promised and i would have to move. I had to call off work and rearrange my plans, and leave.
Lights are always a fun experience
More of a grassy parking lot for RVers. But cheap and manageable
Affordable and easy to work with
