According to the customer feedback:
-
Condition of Homes/Park: Residents report severe issues such as bedbugs, roaches, fleas, rot, and black mold within the homes. This suggests a significant lack of maintenance and quality control over the living spaces.
-
Responsiveness of Ownership/Management: There is a strong sentiment that the owner is unwilling to pay for necessary repairs or improvements. The review explicitly states, "don't expect the owner to pay for it. All he wants is for you to pay him." This indicates a potential lack of support from park management in maintaining habitable conditions.
-
Safety and Environment Concerns: One review mentions "People walking up asking if I know where they can buy weed or meth," suggesting a potential issue with safety and undesirable activities within the community. This raises significant concerns about the overall living environment and security for residents.
-
Resident Responsibility for Repairs: The comment "If you want to do the work your it can be made liveable" implies that residents are expected to undertake significant repairs and improvements themselves, even for basic habitability issues, without financial support from the park. This places an undue burden on residents.
It is crucial for any prospective resident to be aware of these significant reported issues. When considering Hoosier Group of Ft Wayne for local residents in Indiana, it is imperative to approach the decision with a comprehensive understanding of both potential benefits and significant reported challenges, based on the provided public reviews. While mobile home parks can offer an attractive alternative for affordable housing, the experiences shared by customers of this particular park raise serious concerns that directly impact suitability.
From a purely logistical standpoint, the location in Decatur, Indiana, provides a community setting that is typically more relaxed than large urban centers, while still offering reasonable accessibility to Fort Wayne for broader amenities and employment opportunities. For locals who prefer a less metropolitan environment, this geographical placement might be appealing. Mobile homes often present a more cost-effective entry point into homeownership or long-term rental compared to traditional stick-built houses, which could theoretically benefit those on tighter budgets within Indiana.
However, the suitability of Hoosier Group of Ft Wayne for local residents is severely impacted by the direct customer feedback. Reviews explicitly describe conditions such as "bedbugs, roaches, flees, rot, and black mold," indicating significant issues with property maintenance and habitability. The assertion that the owner "All he wants is for you to pay him" and expects residents to "do the work your it can be made liveable" suggests a profound lack of support from park management in ensuring basic living standards. Furthermore, reports of individuals "walking up asking if I know where they can buy weed or meth" point to serious safety and community environment concerns that no resident should have to face.
For Indiana locals weighing their housing options, the fundamental criteria of safety, cleanliness, and responsive management are non-negotiable. While the concept of affordable mobile home living is desirable, these specific reviews suggest that Hoosier Group of Ft Wayne may not meet these basic standards. Prospective residents must undertake extremely thorough due diligence: conducting detailed inspections of any potential unit, understanding all lease terms related to maintenance and repairs in writing, and directly questioning management about the issues raised in public reviews. It would also be advisable to speak with current residents where possible and verify the overall safety and living conditions personally.
In conclusion, while the idea of affordable living in Decatur, IN, might initially draw interest to Hoosier Group of Ft Wayne, the critical public feedback indicates that this mobile home park presents substantial challenges regarding living conditions, management support, and community safety. Therefore, for Indiana locals, suitability would depend heavily on a willingness to potentially manage significant property issues independently and to thoroughly investigate the current state of the park beyond its basic address and contact information.

This is a slum filled with bedbugs, roaches, flees, rot, and black mold. If you want to do the work your it can be made liveable but don't expect the owner to pay for it. All he wants is for you to pay him
Place is in really bad shape. Pot holes in the roads that could swallow a car. Many abandoned trailers with windows broken out.
It's beautiful out in the middle of nowhere and don't have to worry about neighbors being so close
its fine ig, its really run down but if you have the money to fix up your own trailer it'll do you wonders.
