This allows residents ample space for their homes and convenient off-street parking, enhancing both comfort and aesthetics.

  • Storm Shelter: For the safety and peace of mind of residents, Sunrise Village provides a "storm shelter." This is an essential service in Iowa, offering a secure refuge during severe weather events, demonstrating the community's commitment to resident well-being.

  • Pet-Friendly Community: Sunrise Village explicitly states it is a "pet-friendly community." This service is highly valued by many Iowans, allowing them to bring their beloved pets to their new home. While general pet policies (e.g., leash laws, waste cleanup) would apply, the welcoming stance towards pets is a significant draw.

This service is particularly appreciated during Iowa winters, ensuring that community roads and shared spaces remain clear and accessible, reducing the burden on individual residents.

  • Utilities: While not explicitly detailed, standard services for manufactured home communities typically include access to city water, sewer, electric, and gas hookups, which residents arrange individually or through the park. Promotions or Special Offers

As a manufactured home community that offers home sales and lot leases, Sunrise Village doesn't typically run the type of transient "promotions" or "special offers" found in retail or apartment rentals. Their value proposition lies in providing affordable homeownership and a stable living environment.

However, for Iowans considering making Sunrise Village their home, it's important to understand the inherent benefits that might be considered "offers" in the context of long-term housing:

  • Affordable Homeownership Path: The primary benefit and an ongoing "offer" is the opportunity to achieve homeownership at a significantly lower cost than traditional site-built homes in Iowa City. Manufactured homes often represent a more budget-friendly entry point into owning property, allowing residents to build equity.

  • Competitive Lot Rent: While specific lot rent figures are not publicly advertised as promotions, manufactured home communities aim to offer competitive lot rental rates that, combined with the lower home purchase price, make overall housing costs more manageable than conventional housing.

  • Community Amenities Included: The value of the included community amenities, such as the new playground, storm shelter, RV parking area, and common area snow removal, can be seen as an ongoing "offer." These amenities enhance the quality of life without additional individual costs, adding significant value to the monthly lot rent.

  • Professional Management and Maintenance: The presence of on-site professional management and maintenance, ensuring a clean, safe, and well-kept community, is a continuous benefit that enhances the living experience and protects property values. This level of care can save residents time and effort compared to managing individual property aspects.

Prospective residents are always encouraged to contact Sunrise Village directly. While they may not have time-limited sales, they can provide the most current information on available homes or lots, lot rent details, and any applicable qualification criteria. They actively encourage interested parties to "Call today to schedule a private tour" to discover how to "become a member of this vibrant community."

I’ve lived in Sunrise Village for around 7 years and my mom lived here for about the same before me. For a long time, it was a nice place to live. It didn’t include all of the amenities that some of the other parks included, but the rent was affordable (It had once been around $300), management seemed nice, and I didn’t have any problems with my neighbors. Haven Park Management purchased Sunrise about a year or year and a half ago, and things have been going downhill since. We have experienced multiple rent hikes (seems like every 6 months or so) and now what was once affordable will now be close to $500 + trash (I’m fine paying this now that we have individual bins, but before it was for community bins we had always had) + water (well water…) starting in February. My rent is personally higher because I have a double wide trailer (that we own) and corner lots and other double wide lots are also all charged additional fees. Eventually, this place just won’t be affordable anymore, but I don’t get the feeling that the new owners care about this community. Some of the neighbors here are absolutely disgusting. We had a recycling bin on the property that was AMAZING! But now it’s been taken away because someone was throwing their trash into the recycling bin, which is a huge loss and disappointment for the rest of us. Once the recycling bin was taken away, that person just throws their trash everywhere by where it used to be. I’m not sure if it’s still the case or not, but the tornado shelter was previously locked up because of people partying in it, leaving their trash, and even urinating on the floor. There’s a lot that doesn’t get fixed either. Each lot has a lamp post that helps illuminate the otherwise very dark walkways. Ours stopped working three or four years ago. I asked for it to be fixed multiple times and was always met with excuses (they’ll get to it, the ground’s too cold right now, they’re waiting for more people’s to go out first, etc.) I eventually gave up trying to have it fixed and now I just deal with tripping and not being able to see. Park management hours are always a guessing game, even before COVID. Our current park manager is nice though. She’s been with this park for a long time. The current maintenance man also seems nice and very helpful.
