Milan is part of the state's "Great North Woods" region, known for its dense forests, rolling hills, and expansive network of trails, providing a genuine wilderness feel while remaining accessible.
A significant draw for this location is its immediate proximity to major outdoor recreational areas. The campground is right next door to Milan Hill State Park, offering easy access to its hiking trails and the famous fire tower with sweeping views of the mountain ranges across New Hampshire, Maine, Vermont, and even Canada. Crucially, the RV park offers direct connectivity to the area's robust ATV trail systems, including Corridor A, which links to thousands of miles of trails across Coös County (part of the 'Ride the Wilds' network). RV, Trailer, and Seasonal Sites: The park features a mix of sites designed to accommodate various camping styles. This includes seasonal sites, which run from May 1st through October 31st, allowing local residents to establish a long-term summer basecamp. They also offer transit sites for shorter stays, including several pull-through options for easy access, which can accommodate big rigs and large trailers. All sites are equipped with a picnic table and a fire ring for traditional campfire enjoyment.
Essential Hookups and Water Service: The sites are currently designed for self-contained camping, with all RV and Trailer sites featuring septic hookups. While the campground is in development and may not yet offer electrical hookups, the park provides a mobile water tank service to fill internal water tanks, ensuring guests have access to fresh water. Guests are permitted to use generators during designated hours (7:00 am to 10:00 pm) for power needs. A convenient dump station is also available on-site.
The Sunshine Valley Snack Shack: A key amenity and popular local feature is the on-site Snack Shack. Known for its generous portions, excellent food, and friendly service, the Snack Shack is a fantastic convenience for campers and is a regular stop for local residents. It provides a welcome break from camp cooking with offerings like delicious smash burgers and hand-cut fries, perfect for refueling after a day of activities. The Shack also sells freezer treats for hot summer days.
Propane Filling Station: For the ultimate convenience, the park operates an on-site propane filling station. This service allows campers to easily fill 20lb, 30lb, and 100lb tanks, as well as motor home tanks, eliminating the need to leave the mountain area to refill essential fuel supplies. This is a critical convenience for those staying for extended periods.
Camper Rental: For those who do not own an RV or trailer but wish to experience the RV park setting, the park offers a beautifully set-up camper rental. This accommodation includes all necessary bedding, towels, and kitchen supplies, requiring guests only to bring their food and clothes. This service makes the camping experience accessible even to those without their own equipment.

John & Lisa are the nicest people who run the campground. The campground, bathrooms & showers are pristine clean. The snack shack is great with great food! We will be sure to return, and probably only stay here whenever you go up there. You won’t be disappointed if you stay at this campground.
May 26, 2025 · Janet TeschWe went for the snack shack, so my review has absolutely no bearing on the RV park part. Huuuge portions. Smash Burger Mac was delicious and the hand cut fries were fantastic. And they were so pleasant to speak with. Hubby and I will be making this a regular part of our rotation!!

May 27, 2025 · JoeThis place has the best view and the owner is just as cool. Helped me out when he didn’t have too. Grateful. Got to meeting his sweet Mother, she stopped by my site to make sure I had enough food. Couldn’t ask for a better experience. Came through on a bicycle tour and was a bit tired. They allowed me to set up camp. Can’t wait to go back. The area is beautiful.
