TerryhomeWildwood RV Park About

Are you a Missouri RVer on a long journey, seeking a convenient and affordable spot to rest for the night? Perhaps you're passing through Southeast Missouri and need a no-frills, full-hookup site close to essential amenities. Terryhome Wildwood RV Park in Dexter, MO, offers a practical solution for travelers prioritizing convenience and value for an overnight stop. While it might not be a destination for extended stays, it provides the fundamental services needed to recharge before continuing your travels.

Located on the North Outer Road in Dexter, Terryhome Wildwood RV Park positions itself as a functional and budget-friendly option for those in transit. It’s the kind of place that serves its purpose effectively when you’ve been on the road for hours and simply need a safe, serviced spot to park your RV for the night. The park aims to provide a straightforward experience, focusing on the essentials that RVers require for a quick stop.

Customer reviews offer a balanced perspective on what to expect. One reviewer noted, "Sometimes we have to accept whatever is available, and this place worked. It wasn't especially nice, and the sites were unlevel gravel. However, it worked. It just wasn't very nice. Quite a few dilapidated RVs there." This honest feedback suggests that while the aesthetics might not be the park's strongest suit, it fulfills its basic function of providing a place to stay.

In contrast, another guest found it "Great for an overnight stay when you have been on the road a long time. The staff are so very nice and pleasant. Campground in back of storage units. We had a 50 amp, and gravel level site, pull thru, full hook up, the price was right and better than a Walmart parking lot. It worked for us since it was just 1 night. Plus Walmart across the road to stock upon groceries." This review truly highlights the park’s key advantages: helpful staff, essential full hookups (including 50 amp), pull-thru sites, and a strategic location near a Walmart, all at a very reasonable price. It underscores the park's utility as a practical, economical alternative to less comfortable overnight parking options.

For Missouri residents traversing the state, Terryhome Wildwood RV Park serves as a reliable pit stop. It’s a pragmatic choice for those who value friendly service and necessary amenities over elaborate recreational facilities. This introduction sets the stage for a more detailed look at what makes Terryhome Wildwood RV Park suitable for its specific niche of RV travelers.

Location and Accessibility

Dexter is a city located in Stoddard County in Southeast Missouri, making it a strategic stopping point for travelers moving across the state or through the Midwest region. The park's location on the "N Outer Rd" indicates easy access directly off a main thoroughfare, which is highly beneficial for RVs needing quick entry and exit.

The accessibility of the park is a significant advantage for overnight stays. As noted in a review, it's located "in back of storage units," which might not offer the most scenic views but contributes to its practical, no-frills efficiency. The key benefit of this location, particularly for tired travelers, is its immediate proximity to essential services. A major highlight is having "Walmart across the road to stock upon groceries." This convenience allows RVers to easily resupply their provisions without having to drive far out of their way, saving valuable time and effort after a long day of travel.

Dexter itself is a smaller city that provides basic amenities such as gas stations, local dining options, and other retail outlets, ensuring that campers have access to necessary services during their stop. While the park is clearly positioned as an overnight or short-term solution rather than a vacation destination, its location on a readily accessible outer road and its proximity to major retail make it incredibly functional for those in transit. The lady that works here (lives here) comes out SHOUTING at my family at 9:45 on a FRIDAY NIGHT telling us to go to bed bc there are people that have to work in the morning. First of all-I am a grown woman, if you’re the face of a business there’s a level of professionalism that needs to be followed. Second of all, we were not having some crazy party, it was my husband, me, my kids, and my aunt and uncle. THIRD, there is NO curfew listed anywhere. This is NOT A TRAILER PARK, this is a camp sight, where families come to spend time together. Absolutely not.
