Lakeside Manor & RV Park About
Minnesota, with its abundant lakes, lush forests, and scenic routes, is a prime destination for RV enthusiasts. The appeal of the open road, combined with the comfort of home, makes RVing a popular choice for many Minnesotans seeking adventure or a serene long-term stay. Finding the right RV park is crucial to a positive experience, whether you're looking for a seasonal retreat or a convenient base to explore the region. In the charming central Minnesota town of Mora, Lakeside Manor & RV Park offers a unique option for RVers.
Lakeside Manor & RV Park in Mora aims to provide a place for RV owners to establish a long-term or seasonal base, particularly for those who appreciate lakeside living. As with any RV park, understanding the full scope of what's offered, including pricing structures and management practices, is essential for prospective residents. Feedback from some visitors highlights areas of concern regarding transparency in pricing for long-term stays, particularly winter storage, and issues with site readiness and waste disposal. While the park's proximity to Knife Lake suggests recreational opportunities, these concerns indicate that direct communication and clear understanding of all terms are paramount before committing to a stay. For Minnesotans considering a spot for their RV, a thorough inquiry into all aspects of the park's operations is advised to ensure it aligns with their expectations for a comfortable and honest RV experience.
Lakeside Manor & RV Park is located at 1984 260th Ave, Mora, MN 55051, USA. This address places it in the picturesque setting of Kanabec County, in the heart of Central Minnesota. Mora is a friendly, small town known for its outdoor recreation opportunities, particularly its access to various lakes and the Snake River.
The park's location offers a blend of rural tranquility and accessibility. For Minnesotans, Mora is typically an easy drive, approximately an hour and a half north of the Twin Cities metropolitan area via State Highway 65. This makes it a convenient option for those looking for a relatively close escape from urban life or a seasonal retreat without traveling too far. The proximity to Knife Lake, a notable lake in the area, suggests potential for boating, fishing, and other water-based activities, which are highly popular among Minnesota residents. While the park itself is situated on 260th Avenue, likely offering a quiet environment, its connection to Mora means that essential services like grocery stores, gas stations, and local businesses are within a short driving distance. However, some reviews indicate that certain spots within the park might require effort to set up RVs, implying varied levels of accessibility or preparation needed per site. Understanding these nuances through direct inquiry is important for those planning their stay.
Lakeside Manor & RV Park primarily focuses on providing spaces for RVs, particularly for long-term or seasonal stays. While specific detailed lists of amenities and services are not widely available in public data, typical offerings for an RV park of this nature would include:
-
RV Site Rentals:
The core service is the rental of individual RV sites. These sites are typically designed to accommodate various sizes of recreational vehicles.
-
Utility Hookups:
RV parks generally provide essential utility hookups. These usually include:
Electricity (often 30 or 50 amp service)
Water connection
Sewer connection (full hookups)
However, some reviews mention that certain spots might not be ideally set up for RVs regarding sewer connections, implying potential challenges or additional work for campers to get them ready. This suggests a varied level of "readiness" per site.
-
Lake Access (implied by name):
Given the "Lakeside" in its name, the park likely offers some form of access to a nearby lake, which would be Knife Lake. This could include a dock for fishing or boat access, though one review specifically mentioned catching a dirty diaper, suggesting potential issues with lake cleanliness or responsible disposal by others using the lake or dock.
-
Long-Term and Seasonal Stays:
The park appears to cater to those looking for extended stays, offering seasonal or annual rates. This is a common service for RV parks in popular recreational areas, allowing residents to establish a consistent presence.
It is important to note that without more specific information, standard amenities like Wi-Fi, laundry facilities, restrooms, or recreational facilities commonly found at more comprehensive RV resorts cannot be confirmed. Prospective campers should verify directly with the park about all available services to ensure they meet their expectations and needs.
Lakeside Manor & RV Park, while subject to varying guest experiences, presents certain features that might appeal to a segment of the RV community in Minnesota, particularly those seeking a long-term or seasonal spot in a lakeside setting.
-
Location on Knife Lake (Implied):
The "Lakeside" in the park's name strongly implies proximity and likely direct access to Knife Lake, a known body of water in the Mora area. This provides potential opportunities for fishing, boating, and other water-based recreation, which are highly valued by Minnesotans.
-
Designed for Long-Term/Seasonal Stays:
The park appears to cater to those looking to keep their RVs in one location for an extended period, offering seasonal or annual rates. This is a significant advantage for RV owners who prefer a consistent base rather than constantly moving their rigs.
-
Central Minnesota Location:
Its placement in Mora offers a peaceful, rural environment characteristic of Central Minnesota, while still being reasonably accessible from the Twin Cities and other larger regional hubs. This provides a balance of escape and convenience for local RVers.
-
Individual RV Sites:
The park provides individual RV sites, allowing campers to set up their own space. The availability of hookups (water, electric, sewer) on sites is a standard but crucial feature for comfortable RV living.
However, it's also important to acknowledge feedback from real customers that highlight potential issues. Concerns raised include:
-
Pricing Transparency:
Some reviews indicate discrepancies between advertised annual rates and additional charges for winter storage, suggesting a need for very clear and detailed pricing discussions upfront.
-
Site Preparedness:
Feedback suggests that some sites might require significant effort to get sewer connections ready, implying that not all spots are optimally set up for immediate RV use.
-
Management & Environment Concerns:
Reports of unfriendly management, unpleasant odors (allegedly from burning waste), and cleanliness issues (like a dirty diaper in the lake) point to potential challenges in the park's overall environment and management practices.
These points underscore the importance of direct communication and a thorough site visit (if possible) before committing to a stay at Lakeside Manor & RV Park.
Specific "promotions or special offers" in the traditional sense, such as discounts for booking multiple nights or seasonal sales, are not readily available in public information for Lakeside Manor & RV Park. Given the nature of some of the customer reviews, it appears that pricing transparency and consistency might be an area of concern for some visitors.
The primary "offer" of Lakeside Manor & RV Park seems to be its provision of long-term and seasonal RV sites. For those interested in extended stays, discussing their annual or seasonal rates would be the main point of inquiry.
It is crucial for prospective residents to directly contact the park to clarify all pricing details, especially concerning:
-
Annual vs. Seasonal Rates:
Understand exactly what is included in any advertised annual or seasonal fee. Inquire if there are separate charges for utilities (electric, water, sewer) beyond the base rate, and crucially, if there are additional fees for winter storage or leaving a camper on-site during off-season months. One review specifically mentions a discrepancy where an annual price was quoted, but significant monthly winter storage fees were later added, making the true annual cost much higher.
-
Deposit and Refund Policies:
Clarify any required deposits and the conditions under which they are refundable.
-
Payment Schedules:
Understand if payments are monthly, quarterly, or annual, and what flexibility exists.
Given the feedback about pricing discrepancies, prospective campers are highly advised to get all financial agreements in writing to prevent misunderstandings. Direct and thorough communication with the park management about all fees and charges is paramount before making any commitments.

The various concerns raised in customer reviews regarding pricing transparency, the condition of some sites, and aspects of management and environmental practices underscore the importance of direct and detailed communication. Customer Reviews
I am writing a review to share my experience at this RV campsite. The first day I got up late to the RV Center and went to the dock to fish and caught a used dirty diaper, disgusting. I noticed that night there was a stench in the air. From the owner burning, dirty diapers, and saw him with one on breaching his pants. He has little regard for those who camp there. Very unfriendly man with missing teeth. I’m not happy about staying there, and never will again.
Gives you one price for the year and then tells you its $320 a month to leave your camper there in the winter. So it's not $2,800 a year it's much more, not a very honest businessman. He also does not help with the sewer like he promises some spots aren't set up for RVs so you have to do a lot of work to get them ready
Owner is not nice. No public showers or bathrooms. No activities of any kind .He rented us a lot, then told people across the street they could park in front of our camper. so all we saw out our front window and slideout window was the back of their car. When we complained he told me "That's not the front of your camper that's the back." So I guess our camper is pulled from the back. He catered to 5 or 6 of the campers in his park the rest of us he treated like crap.
I hated this place because there's no room to stretch, no trees, and no nature paths and trails.
Great place very nice people in the park! Very clean! And the owner is great!
