The Getaway Campground in Bonnieville, KY, appears to cater to this specific niche, providing basic accommodations for travelers, particularly those in the workforce. This campground emphasizes fundamental services like water, sewer, and power hookups, making it a functional choice for individuals needing a stable base while on assignment in the area. It aims to offer a quiet environment during the evenings, allowing weary workers to rest and prepare for their next day.
While some campgrounds focus heavily on recreational activities and family-centric amenities, The Getaway Campground in Bonnieville seems to lean towards a more utilitarian approach. It's designed to provide the core necessities for an RV or camper, allowing guests to set up comfortably without extensive frills. For the working professional or someone needing a long-term spot with reliable hookups, this focus on the essentials can be a significant advantage. This article will delve into the practical aspects of The Getaway Campground in Bonnieville, providing factual information to help local Kentuckians determine if it aligns with their specific needs for a long-term or work-related stay.
The Getaway Campground is located at 2732 Priceville Rd, Bonnieville, KY 42713, USA. This address places it in Bonnieville, a small town in Hart County, Kentucky, known for its rural setting and proximity to various points of interest in Central Kentucky. For local Kentuckians, this location offers a sense of being "away from it all" while still maintaining access to essential regional hubs.
Bonnieville's position in Central Kentucky suggests good accessibility via state routes, though not directly on a major interstate, which can contribute to a quieter environment. Its location may be particularly convenient for individuals working on projects in the surrounding counties or seeking a more subdued pace of life away from bustling city centers. While specific details on driving times to major attractions are not provided for this location, its general placement in Central Kentucky means that popular destinations like Mammoth Cave National Park or larger towns like Elizabethtown are within a reasonable driving distance.
The type of traveler that this campground attracts—primarily those who "travel for work"—indicates that its accessibility is geared towards straightforward arrival and departure for longer stays. The focus on a "quiet at nights" environment suggests that while it is accessible, it's not positioned in an overly noisy or high-traffic area. This balance of a peaceful setting with practical accessibility for those on assignment makes The Getaway Campground in Bonnieville a considered choice for a particular segment of Kentuckians seeking long-term, functional lodging.
The Getaway Campground in Bonnieville focuses on providing core, essential services for RV and camper guests, particularly those on extended stays or traveling for work. Based on the provided feedback, the primary services offered include:
However, it is critically important to address significant concerns raised in customer reviews regarding other services:
It is important for prospective campers to be aware that specific, publicly advertised "promotions" such as discounts for extended stays, seasonal deals, or loyalty programs are not evident from the available data. Given the reported communication challenges, any inquiries about rates, long-term pricing, or potential arrangements should be made directly and thoroughly documented. Kentuckians considering The Getaway Campground should contact the management directly to clarify all pricing policies, including daily, weekly, and monthly rates, and to ensure full transparency regarding charges before committing to a stay.
To inquire about availability, current rates, or to discuss the specific amenities and policies of The Getaway Campground in Bonnieville, KY, prospective campers will need to contact the management directly. The provided address is 2732 Priceville Rd, Bonnieville, KY 42713, USA. No phone numbers were provided in the prompt for The Getaway Campground. Therefore, potential visitors would need to seek out contact information through other public sources if a direct phone number is not available here. This may include searching online directories, their official website (if one exists), or other listing services to obtain a phone number for direct communication. Without direct contact information, it may be challenging to get immediate answers to pressing questions regarding reservations or reported issues.
For Kentuckians considering The Getaway Campground in Bonnieville, KY, its suitability is largely dependent on very specific needs and expectations, and it comes with significant caveats highlighted by past customer experiences. On the positive side, for individuals who "travel for work" and primarily need a basic, quiet place to park their RV for an extended period, it offers fundamental "water, sewer & power" hookups and "picnic tables." The reported "Quiet at nights" environment could be a valuable asset for those seeking rest after a long day of work.
However, it is crucial for local Kentuckians to be fully aware of the serious concerns raised by previous campers. The severe issues with cleanliness in the laundry facilities, described as having "dog feces for weeks" and a lingering smell, are major hygiene and management red flags. Furthermore, the complaints about "awful" communication and highly questionable billing practices, including a significant charge for a short stay after an initial pro-rating, indicate potential financial frustrations and a lack of transparency. The absence of amenities for children, unlike their other location, also makes it unsuitable for families seeking recreational opportunities.
Therefore, while it might serve as a functional, no-frills option for very specific use cases like working travelers who prioritize basic hookups and quiet nights, Kentuckians should approach The Getaway Campground in Bonnieville with extreme caution. It is highly advisable to make direct contact to ascertain the current state of cleanliness, clarify all billing policies in writing before committing, and manage expectations regarding amenities and customer service. For many, the reported negative experiences may outweigh the basic conveniences, making it a less suitable option for a typical pleasant camping experience in Kentucky.

We stayed at this campground for over a year due to my husbands job. At the Bonnieville location; there’s absolutely nothing to do for kids, the laundry mat had dog feces for weeks in the summer even after I called & three other campers did too. Eventually, after months of calling it was cleaned up but the smell lingered. The wifi is not great, however they can’t control that, I assume it’s just location matter. Just a heads up. Communication was awful in every aspect. I will say the Glendale get away canpground was better they had a small playground, pool, & lake for the kids which was nice! The only issue I had was my son was drinking water in his sippy cup when the weather was extremely hot and I had a worker tell me no drinks or snacks were allowed lol. Which I informed her it was water & he would be having something to drink while swimming in the summer. ANOTHER thing that absolutely infuriated me was the fact they PRO RATED us when we came but when we left they charged us $400 dollars for FIVE (5 ) DAYS! I asked why we were not being pro rated, & more so every campground we had stayed at always did. No reply back to the pro rated text but I did get a “Campground policy” for when I asked for clarification on $400 for a five day stay. overall do NOT stay here in my opinion. I’m not the only family that has had an issue. This is my opinion firmly, but I can definitely say we will NEVER be back.
